REMINDERS:
– Registration is on a first-come, first served basis, and may end earlier than the announced deadline. Race slots may run out before March 9, 2014.
– Runners who buy prepaid cards at our stores will receive their singlet upon purchase. Runners must collect the rest of their race kit (race bib and Active Health items) at Race Kit Claiming on the following dates.

  1. @tracer_dash: speculation lang naman po ito. With all the runners who are waiting for this race, we’re not surprised it was sold out this quickly. Nonetheless, if ever there are people selling their kits, let’s not support.

    Let’s remember, if walang bumibili or tumatangkilik sa scalpers hindi din sila gagawa nito in the first place. if your rumor is true, then let them run the 21K instead of selling it to anyone else.

  2. Guys and Pinoy Fitness. This is true because you can search it on Google. There are scalpers selling it thru other websites. Prices ranges from 1,200-1,500. It’s sad that this thing is happening in running event. I hope Runrio will highly consider changing their registration process para maiwasan yung mga mapagsamantalang tao.

    Tama din sabi ng admin, huwag bumili sa scalpers kasi lalo silang matutuwa kasi kumita sila ng malaki!

  3. you have to register really early. first day in store registration Feb.8 i was at tobys the block about 1:30 there was already a long line cguro hanggang entrance waited for more than an hour. pag uwi ko registered online difficult at first pero eventually got the confirmation.

Para dun sa mga professional runners kuno na minamaliit ang mga newbies sa 21k at yung mga nag lalakad sa mga 21k, wag kayong mansisi, karapatan din nilang tumakbo sa 21k if they like, kung professional runners nga kayo dapat nag lend kayo ng time for the registration dates, maaga naman nag post dito and run united so d excuse yung may pasok ka, conflict yung schedules nyo, marami ding paraan para makapag register dito. kaya ako sa inyo wag kayong bitter sa mga newbies, sa mga scalpers kayo magalit.

  5. WALKERS man kami, maagap naman kame sa registration. Hahaha. Magalit kayo sa mga SCALPERS na umubos ng prepaid cards at binebenta sa mataas na halaga wag samin. Kung WALKERS man kame marunong naman kameng tumabi to give way sa mga runners na tumatakbo galing sa likod. PEACE!

    BOYCOTT mga SCALPERS! Pwede ba pa IMBESTIGADOR or BITAG mga yan? Just thinkin! :D

    • Kudos sa mga mabibilis at mahaba na ang endurance sa takbo pero maging humble naman po sana tayo.

      Magpasalamat po tayo na dumadami na ang tinatawag nyong WALKERS kc ang ibig sabihin nun ay lumalaki na ang community nating mga runners.

      Kung mag SELFIE man sila sa daan ay ok lang un… sino ba naman ang hindi maging proud kung may accomplishment ka mapa anong distance man.

      Sigurado ako na gaya ng karamihan, may mga goal ang mga tinatawag nyong WALKERS para ma improve ang best time nila.

      Ako man po ay nagsimula din sa mababang category noon but I as well consider myself a working progress.

      …ang importante po may goal tayong lahat mapa WALKER man o hindi…

      Sa mga kasalukuyang WALKERS …don’t be discouraged, never stop running kasi lahat ng mga runners ay may pinagsimulan.

      Paalala lang po sa mga WALKERS, kung tayo po ay mag improve na at hindi na gaanong maglalakad, sana huwag nating kalimutan kung ano ang ating pinagmulan.

      Huwag po sana tayong mang discriminate sa mga darating na baguahan.

  6. JM, for me… okay lang ang Online Registration. Tulad nung nabasa ko, taga cavite at laguna pa sila. Mas madali mag register via online (kahit na may additional P50.00 na web fee).

    Hindi naman sa nanghuhusga ako, pero DAIG NG MAAGAP ANG MASIPAG. Alam nyo naman na ang RU1 ang pinaka-importante dahil ito ang una sa Run United Trilogy. Walang kwenta ang pagtakbo mo sa RU2 and RU3 kasi wala kang medal nung RU1. Like last year, nasarhan ako ng slot, kaya ngayon nagregister ako first day ng announcement via online.

    • Van, kung sa running event ang paguusapan, MILO MARATHON pa rin ang measuring stick para sa mga Real Runners at Elites. Run United only caters to RECREATIONAL JOGGERS and WALKERS.

      • Sir Shield, sa tingin ko maganda yung intention kaya ginagawa ang RU series, para maprepare ang runners for FM in 1 year at MILO syempre..kung makkakatapos ko ng FM sa last leg ng RU sa tingin ko di na yun pang recreational at kung makakatapos ka ng MILO 42k with 6 hrs masasabi ko na serious runner ka na. Alam natin na maraming umiiyak sa 6hrs ng cut off ng MILO pag ginawa nila sa RU3 yan malalaman na natin kung sino talaga ang meron PUSO sa pagtakbo hehehe…

    • sa tingin ko secondary lang yun mabuo mo yung medal eh… kasi pwede mo yan mabuo sa 21k-21k-21k…ang reason kasi kaya ginawa yung RU series para maprepare yung runners na makatakbo ng FM sa loob ng 1 yr… maraming matatakbuhan ng 21k kaya mas gusto ko takbo yung RU 2 kasi meron 32k at next month after MILO na.. di natin masisi yung iba na late magparegister kasi budgeted talaga ang pera nila. I personally di ako nakapagregister dahil kakagaling ko lang sa run at pag uwi ko nalaman ko na lang na nagkaubusan na pala ng card. kita kita na lang sa RU2, MILO, Phil Marathon at MILI Finals..

  7. di po ako maniniwalamg sold out ung card by almost a day lng sa lahat ng store nila that very unusual….the event is on march 16 almost a month pa halos…cgurado may mga mananamantala dito sa sitwasyon kasi marami interesado, please take necesary action unilab and runrio inc…malalaman nyo kung totoong sold out na dapat may list na in kayo ng runners sa ngaun….next time dapat may picture o kodakan nyo runner di yung bulk na bibilhin…ung milo nga na sobrang dami nagtagal pa….please act on this matter….

  8. Tingin ko much better kung ang sasalihan na lang natin mga guys ay ung fun run na para sa charity at hindi lang para sa bulsa ng mga company at organizer. Para kahit magbayad tayo ng mahal, hindi sayang ang pera natin.

  9. theres something wrong in the distribution of cards.. i suggest they should post all the name of registrants online just like 7/11 run1000
    so as everyone may know is those cards prorportionate to number of registrants.

  10. The shield, tama naman ata si Van.Tapos parang walang connect yung comment mo sa knya ? hindi naman pinaguusapan dito kung ano ang pinakamagandang event ng funrun.Ang importante makasali ka at magenjoy ka. nasa-runners na yun kung mglalakad sila o mgjojog.

      FOR 900 PESOS NA BABAYARAN MO, ANU MAKUKUHA MO? SAME OLD SINGLET, SAME OLD LOOTBAG NA MAY GAMOT, SAME OLD MEDAL NA PARE-PAREHO LANG.

  12. Elite Runners ba yang si The Shield na yan? Kung umasta daig pa ang NOVICE na tulad ko lols. Hindi mo ba alam ang method of WALK/RUN sa half-marathon at Marathon?? Magresearch din pag may time dyosmiyo. Gamitin ang utak bago magpost sa isang forum. :))

  13. — Just like to comment about the “WALKERS” thing.

    Yes I know the RUN-WALK strategy of some runners to conserve energy for long-distance running. But there are also RUNNERS who run the whole entire route (heard of Kenyans?) or even the half-marathon route (cos I do!). The problem with some WALKERS is that they are not doing the RUN-WALK strategy but rather RUN AS FAST AS THEY COULD in their first few kms (excited eh?) then WALK the rest of the kms. Not kidding! I’ve seen them all! That sense of WALKING is not making a marathon (or half-marathon in this case) any justice! They’re forfeiting the legacy of a marathon spirit! For pete’s sake, A MARATHON IS A MARATHON, it’s a run not a walk, it’s a race, it’s an ultimate test of endurance. A MARATHON OR A HALF-MARATHON is not a physical fitness test to see how long you can walk until the finish line and brag that finisher medal and shirt and do a lot of selfies! Think about swimming, any body can swim with different styles and strokes, but can any body just go for a “race” in swimming? NO. You need to prepare your self, develop your techniques and endure your obstacles before you “compete to swim”. That’s the same with running! If you know your self: your heartbeat, your pace, your endurance, that you can not do the 21K under 3:00:00 then why push yourself for it??? WHY NOT TRAIN FIRST THEN RACE AFTER??? It’s like going to war, too excited to go for a battle, but you don’t even know how to throw a grenade, launch a missile or do a combat??? Isn’t that ridiculous??? If you’re really serious about running, then why not train your self first before joining such an event? Elite runners become elite because they act and think like one. Push your limits? Well, know your limits first before you try to exceed it. Think about that.

    • Two thumbs up! The best thing to do in a race especially 21k and 42k is lagyan ng cut-off time. Those who will finish after cut-off time no more finisher shirt or medal. Ang iba kasi finisher shirt and medal lang habol.

    • I do hope you’re referring to just “some” walkers and not all. It would be an insult to most if you’re generalizing things without taking into consideration why others do a marathon. Nowadays, marathon is not just a race for some, but a source of inspiration for most people. I ran a marathon for my brother who died of cancer. He smoked cigarette, so did I. We were supposed to quit together, but was too late for him. I promised myself that I will change my ways, and let my parents know I’m here to stay. I started joining running events 3 years ago. From 5K, 10K, up until 42K. During my lowest points, while running those long distance events, I would think about my brother, and how i want to prove that I can have a healthy life. And I do “walk” for a few kilometers while I regain my energy during a marathon. Now tell me, do you think I have no right to join a marathon for promoting a healthy living? If I haven’t started running, I would still be smoking, and probably dead by now. I’ve done 3 marathons by the way. Marathon is not about a race, it is about inspiring others to reach the finish line.

        A marathon is a marathon, a run is a run. We may have different experiences, different dramas (and oh you think you’re the only one with that kind of story? Believe me, I have my own story to tell) but still I have to go with the marathon spirit, and that’s to run till I reach and overcome the wall; to run till my spirit almost broke but keep on running ’til I get on the finish line and maybe (just, maybe) broke another PB.

        I just wish you get the point of the third sentence from my previous post: “The problem with some WALKERS”, it’s definitely not a generalisation. If you know yourself, and you think you’re not one of those WALKERS then just calm down, but then if you ARE, well I guess, it’s time to re-evaluate your self.

        Bottom line, if Filipino runners are really serious about running (totally serious), maybe it’s time to re-evaluate race parameters?

        I still say this again: running is for runners as walking is for walkers.

        I do the run/walk method, and I’ve qualified and ran an international marathon (US), so no need to educate me about your statistics and cut-off times (just hoping you share your resource). It’s funny, I went to the Auckland Marathon page, and the first thing you’ll notice is that they encourage walkers, especially in a marathon event. Simply put, this is what they said:

        “Walkers: There is no competition, prize category or separate results for walkers and therefore walkers are not scrutinized in any of the Adidas Auckland Marathon events. Walkers are allocated different bib colours and numbering systems solely for starting purposes only. For safety reasons a separate start area has been established for walkers behind the runners and this will be accessible to only those with the correct coloured race number. Please utilise the separate walkers start area. The Auckland Marathon entry form (online and download) requires participants to nominate their chosen event and whether they will run or walk in the Marathon or Half Marathon events. Walkers who choose to run at times during their chosen event on the day (and vice versa) are not penalised.”

        And about the cut-off time … Not sure if you know the definition of a sub-2 and sub-3, but I went again to the website to see the 2013 race results, and the average is at 04:23:37. A simple calculation will question the numbers you have posted below. If the race started at 6:10am (2013 event), the website noted this as the cut-off times:

        Cut Off Times: 8.20am for the 9km mark at Smales Farm Bus Station. 9.20am for any participant still on the Auckland Harbour Bridge (who will be transported to Sarsfield St to continue the event). 1.00pm for any participant still on the course.

        By the way, the SMH Half marathon cut-off time in 2013 was 2 hours 38 mins. Geez, where do you get all your data.

        Oh mercy, all you put there are total rubbish!

        First, do you know how statistics work? You compare particularly groups/individuals in defined parameters. In my case, am comparing HALF-MARATHON RACES. If you got problems with your eyes, look again: FYI: STATISTICS FOR HALF-MARATHON RACES. Am comparing half-marathon races in AU (SMH Halfmarathon), NZ (Adidas Auckland) and PH (Run United Leg). It’s totally stupid if I would be comparing SMH Halfmarathon time with Adidas Auckland Full Marathon time, right??? So basically, all you said are total rubbish since you’re talking about different cut-off time! To teach you some basics: to get those percentages, you need to know how many sub-2 finishers (or sub-3) are there from the total finishers (not from the total registered runners).

        To point out, the average time you’re arguing: 04:23:37 is for the marathon in Adidas Auckland 2013, and the average time I presented 02:17:50 is for the half-marathon event in 2013 (which I am correct). So obviously all you said there are nothing.

        You’re a typical Filipino eh, taking all those words, can’t even make your own word and highlight what you wanted to point out? “Geez”, grow up with the cut-and-paste strategy.

        Well, I hope (really, hope this time) that you get what am trying to point out here. If Filipino runners are really interested, really serious about running, prolly it’s high time to re-evaluate race parameters and meet the highest standards (impose cut-off times)? You can see, most runners in AU and NZ have higher sub-2/sub-3 finishers in their event because runners there are totally serious about running, which I can’t totally say with PH. That’s the reason you can see from RU Leg 1 until Leg 3 (still talking about 21K, remember) that the percentages of sub-2 finishers haven’t even got to 10%, probably most runners are not even serious runners, but walkers.

        Again: A marathon is a marathon, a run is a run and walk is a walk.

        Perfect logic, isn’t it?

Eh 19 kilometro pa ang kailangang bubunuin. Tama!!! Suguro oras na para lagyan ng CUT-OFF and Run United. Para lahat ng runners nag uunite talaga dahil sa Takbo. Ngayon kung wala talaga. Ipabago na lang kay Coach Rio ang name. WALK UNITED PHILIPPINE WALKATHON.

  14. to all – pansin ko lang talaga si idol @The Shield eh walang sinasang-ayunang event maliban sa mga events ni idol RUNTARANTANTAN… naoobserbahan ko lang po yan at makikita nyo naman sa mga post nya… pag iba negative agad sa kanya panira pa nga eh… pero pag mga events ni idol eh talagang puro positive … bakit kaya? :-)

Better luck next year para makumpleto niyo trilogy. Minsan kasi abang-abang din pag may time sa First day High, you guys know the term: first-come-first-serve-basis. Ambibilis niyo nga… pero nga-nga naman sa RU1. BLEH. ANG INGGIT AY WALANG NAIDUDULOT NA MAGANDA SA KATAWAN.

    • paano kung un tao maraming gastusin di nakapagipon para dyan at hinihintay sweldo nya? ang mali kc dyan 2 days lng ubos na.inubos ng scalper. pano kng wedding anniversary uunahin pa nya pumunta ng moa kesa sa asawa nya? or 1st birthday ng anak nya? or naka VL? sya? or pinag OT sya ng callcenter at kailangan nya matulog naman? or nagka trangkaso or dengue o kahit anung sakit? those are not excuses.hindi rin un inggit, kasi may nang abuso

BUT, ALWAYS KEEP IN MIND, THAT IF YOU ARE GOING TO THE PATH OF BEING A RUNNER, YOU SHOULD DO YOUR BEST TO PROVE IT. BEAT YOUR PR IN EVERY DAMN RACE YOU RUN. THAT IS THE VERY ESSENCE OF RUNNING. YOU EXCEL. IT’S NOT ABOUT THE MEDALS THAT YOU BRAG, OR THE FINISHER SHIRTS THAT TELLS HOW MANY KILOMETERS THAT YOU RUN, IT’S THE ESSENCE OF RUNNING. RUN. ING. AND THAT SHOULD NOT STOP FROM DOING IT. A marathon finisher is a marathon finisher.. hence, a half marathon finisher is still a half marathon finisher… its not about how fast or slow you go… we are all runners.. yun iba lang too proud and yabang… Bottom line, register early para di nuubusan ng slot at hindi puro pag-sosour graping and depensa!   21. sana richkid na lng ako para sa ganun makpgregister ako ng maaga sa ganito klase ng running event at hindi na hihintayin ang sahod ko para mkapgregister sa kaht ano running events..sarap cguro ganun atleast maaga register marami practices para ready set go na…..at sana kunin agad ni lord ang mga scalper na yan para ng sa ganun di pamarisan ng iba at sa ganun ang bayan ay umunlad…

  23. haaayyy…. i wasn’t able to register for the 21k as well, was wondering why i can’t select the 21k at the online registration, sold out na pala, nasasayangan naman akong magregister for just 10k kc yun na ang training ko most days of the week….wala nang challenge….
    kahit nung nag-open ang instore registration sold out din agad ang 21k, dapat siguro kung mas maraming gustong sumali sa 21k mas damihan nila ang slots and just include waves para di masyadong masikip sa pagtakbo, siguro include a 3am wave

    I’ve been running for a year now, longest dist 16k (road run) and this year I have started joining trail runs. I’d like to complete the medal kaya ako naglevel-up.
    Wala siguro pumapansin sa 10k kaya nila ginawa yan strategy na yan.
    Sana different medal na lang yun bigay nila sa 10k. No offense to 10k runners, as I’ve mentioned Im not elite. Ang organizer ang nagiging unfair sa rules/mechanics nila para lang kumita.hay…

  28. sinasabi naman in advance kung kelan ang event and you can figure out kung kelan possible mag start ang registration. I am not a richkid, simpleng empleyado lang ako pero pinaghahandaan ko yung pang register ko kasi gusto ko tumakbo.

  29. dati sobrang nalulungkot din ako pag di ako umabot sa reg ng RU. pero ngayon hindi na…graduate na ko ng RU runs – no more RU runs. MILO marathon na palagi sinasalihan. Praktis na lang every weekend malapit sa bahay. Napakasarap ng pakiramdam sa finish line na naka sabit yun medal pag na beat mo cut-off time ng MILO marathon.

    • pinakamasarap na takbuhan ang MILO compare sa lahat…lalo na kung pumasok ka sa qualifying time and not just a cut-off time para masasabi mong isang kang Finalist. But beating the cut-off time is the first thing to do before reaching the qualifying time.

    • i have a large singlet and exhanged it to medium in riovana yesterday. as long as it is not yet used (i.e. in original packaging) you can have it change to medium.they have lots of medium sizes in BGC.

When I tried to register online using prepaid card and then suddenly my napindot ako and then yung online form nawala and then I tried to go back however I couldn’t find it and I requested to change my existing registration info. so I reset my password and then it shows that my password is incorrect. Panu ko macoconfirm if I did registered since I did not received an email?

ADMIN: sana po wag na nating i-post ang mga nagbebenta or bibili ng race kit sa event na ito or sa iba pa in the future… natatake advantage kasi ng maloloko pag maraming naghahanap… kung gusto nilang magbenta eh i-post na lang nila sa wall FB nila or via text sa friends nilang runner… this is only a suggestion… verymuch thanks :-)

    pag nagregister ka na online – syempre under your name na!

    legitimate registered runner ka na! unlike yung dati, bib ang makukuha mo at registered yung bib na iyon under sa name ng ibang runner.

    kaya nga yung pre-paid system na ito, parang designed to cater sa mga scalpers!

    last year ko na ito sa RU. hindi naman sila loyal sa mga loyal runners nila

  40. Pareperho lang kayong BITTER. Bitter kasi hindi nakapag register, at BITTER sa kaka explain ng punto niyo about early regs, walkers, etc. Lahat naman siguro na nasa matinong pag iisip eh gusto tumakbo sa mga run na gusto niya salihan. Nagkataon lang talaga na merong cut off ng registrants, hindi na talaga maiiwasan yun. Kaya kung hindi kayo nakapag register, nagkataon lang na naunahan kayo, hindi kayo dinaya. Yang mga scalper na yan, kahit aminin niyo man o hindi, eh magiging parte na sila ng buhay nating mga runners. (Parang gobyerno na binabayaran natin ng tax kahit hindi tayo tiwala).

    At para naman sa mga WALKERS na sumali (hindi ako galit take note)…… since nakuha niyo na yung slot na hinahangad ng iba, eh sana naman gawin niyong mentality yung “FINISH STRONG”.Ipakita niyo rin naman na kahit lakad ang ginagawa niyo, eh hindi kayo mapapahiya sa ibang runners na inasam na mapunta sa lugar ninyo. It’s a matter of personal principle na lang siguro. Kahit matagal basta mag-improve kayo next time, walang problem.

    Sa mga scalpers. Since trabaho niyo na yan at kumikita naman kayo (lahat naman eh kailanagn ng pera), tuloy niyo lang. Pero sana, kung tataasan niyo yung presyo, yung presyong hindi nakakabobo. Kasi kung kayo rin nman ay bibili ng isang bagay, ayaw niyo rin naman na lalamangan kayo diba?

    Sa mga haters ni Rio. Wag na kayo magpost. Hindi na nga kayo nakapgregister nagrereklamo pa kayo. Hindi niyo na business ang RU 1 kung hindi naman kayo parte nito. Kahit umiyak kayo buong araw, tapos na eh. TAPOS NA. so let it go. Pampahaba lang kayo ng thread eh.

  42. How come wala ng small or medium sizes para sa finisher’s shirt noong nagregister ako online? Sana i-base ang number ng finisher’s shirts according sa preferred size ng mga runners. Just a thought though. I’m kind of dissatisfied kasi I got XL instead of S/M, got no choice. And I’ve heard the finisher’s shirts are a bit larger than the singlets.

  46. Is already registered for this fun run and looking forward to meet and greet my fans on race day.

    By the way, there was a Run United Leg a few years ago that allowed additional 21-kilometer runners to sign up late but with the condition that their shirts and medals would be claimed on a later date.

    In order to differentiate them, the late registrants had a different colored bib.

    Luckily, there were enough medals and shirts on race day that they were spared the inconvenience.
