Is it more brutal than Salomon’s 24K mountain run?

OMG! eventking? not again! i like to join this trail run but with eventking as the organizer no way jose.

“EVENTKING” no no no no way!!! nakakadala na yan pweh..

if am not mistaken last year was organized by thumbie remigio’s group. Yes, last year was brutal but have to say my most memorable with all the dirt and steep slope. The 21k category last year was even harder than 42k road race, in my opinion.

wow, this is super-exciting. there’s still a lot of time for preparation. definitely, ma-improve pa time me sa run na ito last year.

Question 1: Are the pics in the poster from last year’s event? Kasi nakita ko yan sa loob ng isang Merrell store na life-sized. And to think maybe OUR race pics could be the next ones on the walls of the Merrell stores after the event!

Question 2: Same pa rin ba yung shuttle tulad last year? +250 petot sa registration? Same pick-up points din tulad last year sa ROX 3am at 3:15 am?

Saka Saturday, kawawa naman kaming mga GY shift at ang out ay 9am pa ng sat.

Same trail lang ito nung last year,it would be more fun kung umulan,para maputik at madulas ang daan.Last year,dami nadudulas,pano naka road running shoes yung karamihan. This time I will be using my columbia master of faster,tignan ko kung mas okay yung grip.Last year kasi merrell waterpro maipo ang gamit ko,okay naman magaan din at madaling matuyo..Kaya kayo make sure na design sa trail running yung shoes nyo,di porket naka asics,brooks kayo eh puede na sa trail..

last year Thumbie Remigio organized this event. this year this will be organized by Event King.. but based on my experience sa Nat Geo Earth Run na organized ng Event King.. eh.. wag na lang.. good luck na lang sa inyo.

I was thinking of joining this kaso after learning na Event King ang organiser e wag na lang. Baka bumawi sila sa mga pagkukulang nila sa NatGeo, but I won’t take the risk. Especially, ayaw nilang sagutin mga tanong ng mga runners. Ganito rin yung sa NatGeo. Nanahimik lang sila. Runners were hoping na kahit papaano e makikinig sila. But they didn’t. Sorry Merrell, ganda sana. But I won’t support a run na yung organiser e wala namng support sa mga runners.

Just to be safe if the organizer treats the runners like crap again…

Last year it was Eventking who was also organized the run. They hired Thumbie as race management. For the first Merell run in Montalban, Thumbie was the race organizer and race director. I joined the two races.

This is it…this is really really it…my anniv trail run! …

I’ll be doing the 21k this time…instead of taking the BGC bus, our group rented a van for Php110/head and that back and forth. We will meet in Cubao.

I learned a lot from last year’s Merrell Adventure run and this I’ll make sure that Im wearing gloves (may mga halamang matitinik), i have energy bars with me….holding a water bottle might not be a good idea (coz you will need both hands to hold onto to some branch or twig)….but using a water bottle belt was an epic fail for me back in Salomon X-trail (coz’ palagi syang nahuhulog) so i’m still thinking how to deal with the hydration…

One thing’s for sure…you will finish this race mud soaked…I still remember how hard it took me to clean my adventure shoes but it was all worth it hehehe…my most challenging run of 2011 coz it just rained that time and the whole course was muddy and wet as in sobra talaga…there were time tuwang tuwa ka na dahil bababa ka na ng bundok then you realize the one’s before you are on an ascending path then you realize damn another mountain argh hehehe but it was so super worth it!

honga pala make sure to have enough hydration prep (1 week preparation) last year I had my first leg cramp…don’t be fooled, its not as steep as the one in Tagaytay but last year was one hell of a run and I only did the 10k…98% trail 2% road being the starting and the finish line…kung may protective clothing kayo to avoid bruises and possible scarring sa legs, then wear one. I don’t remember a lot of hydration stations so I can’t stress enough its importance….banana? wala akong maalala baka siguro yung nag21k meron

yup may shuttle. Pickup sa ROX BGC 4:15 am worth P300 nakalimutan ko lang kung one way or two way yung bayad.

yup same JP from takbo para sa banahaw. Muntik na ko matuloy sa La Union buti nacontrol ko ang medal greed ko hehe. Ang dami daw nagrereklamo sa La Union badly organized daw may nabasa pa ko sa fb maghahabla pa daw lol. Sana hindi masyado nabadtrip si Ms Mars tumakbo din yata sya doon.

Sa mga di pa nakakaalam. MAR this year has additional features on the course like 5 mud pits + tube crawls leading to the mud pits + waterfall jump (5 or 6 feet lang naman) + 200 meter river traverse. 10k will be doing this once but 21k will be doing all of this TWICE so expect to get wet and muddy.

You can opt to use a bamboo bridge if you don’t want to jump from the waterfall.
