The mountain ranges composing the watersheds of Tanay, Rizal are at a critical level with its natural water resources dwindling at faster rate due to destruction of its forests, rivers and water springs which usually oozing with water all-year run but are now becoming drier in the summer months, a clear sign that if the destruction of the forests continue we may no longer have the watersheds but just dry parched mountains. Wealth of the forest must benefit the upland communities not waste them.

Nature’s Trail Discovery Run will bring runners to new adventures of trail running as well as promoting environmental awareness the reforestation of the watersheds of Tanay, Rizal and the development of upland communities through the mountain sports tourism promotion. It is a 3-leg series of Trail Run races scheduled on May 27, September 2 and December 2 in 2012. The series will run in different trail routes at the foot and top of hills and mountains, running through small trails, dirt roads, rivers, and inside the forested areas for complete trail experience. It shall serve as qualifying races for the annual “Love A Tree” which will have its next run on February 2013.

  1. wow… i missed trail running.
It was on Aug 1997 pa me last nakapunta Tanay, Rizal. ano na kaya improvements ngayon?

  3. Hi mph2011 and runner ng bato, the pick-up locations will be in Makati (one in BGC, and another in Edsa, Shell), Mandaluyong City Hall Circle, and QC Circle. Runners from Antipolo/Cainta/Marikina area may be picked up at Masinag Market near Mercury. It’s a shuttle service so going to and coming back to Metro.

  4. Gams, there is no singlet, but we have Finishers shirt and Finishers medals on all race categories. The reason for no singlet is to give way for those sponsored by their companies. They can wear proudly their team’s singlet. Another and most compelling reason is that since the early morning run is quite cold and we don’t know the weather situation at the time of the run, it can be rainy, we want the runners to have their most comfortable get-up and gears for trail running. Me mga halamang gubat at damo na pwedeng sumabit sa type ng singlet fiber normally so we give the runners the liberty to choose the type of running clothes they are going to wear. It can be cotton/polyester type. Runners may also wear sleeves protection for the arm. Runners can be as fashionable as possible during the run.

  5. Hi nik_rielo registration is available only in selected chris sports outlets but you can register now at pimco office to avail Php100 off early birds promo.
