[ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE ORGANIZER]

Dear Runners,

Race Results will be posted later at 6pm. This is to give time for verification on those runners who did not follow proper wearing of chip. Instead of their ankle, there were many wearing them on their arms and wrists. Kindly re-visit “How To Wear Your Timing Chip” at www.axn-asia.com/runsph.

With regards to the 1,000 finisher shirts for race number 1-1000 and 1,500 medals we prepared for all 1,307 21KM runners: It was unfortunate that there were those that were not able to receive theirs, due to the looting by participants that occurred. We are devastated by this incident. For those who were not able to claim theirs, AXN is producing a special AXN Finisher Shirt and AXN Finisher Medal. Please keep your race numbers with claim stub. Mechanics will be released by AXN at the AXN website within the week.

With regards to the route: We are happy to hear runners enjoyed the challenging route we developed for all racing enthusiasts 3K, 5K, 10K, and 21K. A lot of time, effort, heavy coordination with government agencies, were poured into the route development. We would like to thank the Ortigas Center Association Inc, Ortigas Rotary Club, Pasig City Mayor, Quezon City Mayor, MMDA, DPWH, TPMO, QCPD, Pasig PD, DPOS, PNP and all the barangays.

To all the runners, thank you for your support. We welcome all comments and suggestions as we continue to provide you with better races. Feel free to email us at [email protected].

We hope to race with you again.

Racing you farther,

FINISHLINE

  1. congrats to the organizers, participants, volunteers and finishers. parang konti yung sumali pero it was still a great run. very organized and a challenging route it was ^_^

  2. wish I could congratulate fully the organizers kasi nagenjoy naman ako sa run, however, pagdating sa distribution ng technical shirt for those who are entitled pumalya sila. I know it is just a freebie pero di ba hindi naman tayo nagkulang sa kanila bakit kailangan suklian ng paggiging disorganized sa part na yun.

  3. My First 21k run with AXN is a great run!
I’ve achieved my target time of less than 2 hours…

Thanks to organizers coz it is Successful..!

    ^_^

  4. twas a very challenging run for me. dami uphill. i like the route khit mahirap. what i don’t like is that di organized ung pagkuha ng medals and finisher shirt. tsaka supposedly first 1K finisher of each category and first 1K registrants lng makakakuha ng finisher shirt pero di nasunod. 1HR kami pumila to get the shirt. kaloka! sakit na nga feet and legs mo, pila pa. overall, ok lang. dami pa rin dapat ienhance.

  5. Nice wheather, route & run in total. With liquids almost every km & turn. Will probably join again next year despite all the queues for the freebies. Next time please put a timer for 3k & 5k runners to claim their runners.

But I did get my free lock & lock so I won’t be ampalaya about the banana’s case & Runner mag :)

    See you all next year!

  6. That was a crappy race!

I joined because of the new 21K route and because I like AXN but…

    1. 21K start was confusing because the emcees only took the stage 5 minutes before gun start.
    2. water in every water station was lukewarm. it gave me a bum stomach towards the middle of the race.
    3. there were water stations wherein we had to wait for water.
    4. the marshals were not cheerful and not supportive – unlike in Runrio and Takbo.ph events.
    5. there was a lack of distance markers. Actually, there were some but they were mostly laying on the ground.
    6. AFTER RUNNING 21K, WE HAD TO LINE UP FOR 30 TO 45 MINUTES JUST TO GET OUR MEDALS AND SHIRTS. RUNRIO HANDS THEM OVER TO YOU AS YOU CROSS THE FINISH LINE.
    7. the bottled drinks that they distributed at the end of the race were still not cold. There was a 7-11 right behind them. I’m sure 500pesos worth of ice could’ve cooled a lot of bottles.

From now on, I will think twice before joining an event by this organizer again. Is it FINISHLINE?

  7. this is the hardest 21k i’ve experienced. 4 flyovers and the uphill climb towards the finish line is a killer. but it’s all worth the effort. of all the flyovers, the c-5 libis is the most stiff. it’s like the upward slope is neverending.

  8. i agree with petersn…this is most hardest 21k i ever joined in my career..very challenging….its like a survival..congrats to all finisher..

  9. I think challenging is an understatement to describe that route. ha ha. I have had six 21k runs and yet this is the first time that I experienced cramps.

There was just one water station at Libis that ran out of cups so we just drank from used cups.

  10. Thanks AXN for the organized run. Ok yung water stations, road markers, portalets along the route, road marshals. Yung 21K runners na above 1000 yung bib no, hinde alam na from 1-1000 bib no lang may finisher’s shirt.

  11. it was my very challenging 21k run!!! even if i didn’t beat my PR, i loved it!!! thanks AXN, i hope to see Amazing Race Asia 4 soon! sino kaya nex pinoy racers??? abangan!

  12. I felt bad not having beaten my PR but considering the pollution (the terrain would’ve been easier to deal with w/o the gas fumes), I think we all should be glad we didn’t end up hypoxemic. My singlet smelled like gasoline! Haha!

  13. Positive comments:
    1)well organized run
    2) it was a rendezvous of disciplined runners ( hindi pasaway mga runners)
    3) no arrogant big bouncers (the security guards did a good job)
    4) the shades of high rise buildings helps a lot
    5) the route was great
    6) timing chips are great
    7) singlets are comfortable

    Negative comments:
    1) no finisher’s kit for 21k runners with bib num 1001 up
    2) no finisher’s t-shirt for bib num 1001 up
    3) pollution in c5
    4) kenyans took all the prizes in 21km (dapat may pinoy category din, di kaya 2 kenyans lang per race to give opportunity for for local runners)

Generally,it was a good race….I rate this race 8.5 in a scale of 10.I hope the organizers will take note of the comments and suggestions so that next time the race will be more exciting. Congratulations to all the finishers and to the organizers!See you guys on Sunday at MIM!

  14. nice event.. nice run.

    congratz to all

  15. On the overall, it was a fairly organized run, but it’s just not in the same level with Runrio. Hydration stations are well distanced, except for the last three or two kilometers where there is none when many of us needed it most.

I also think that this was the hardest route for a 21K that I’ve ever encountered, so many uphills. The route was really a challenge, punishing. I was able to record a time similar to where I left it with my previous 21K in Subic. Thank God, I’m back to 21K again.

  16. this morning was my 3rd 5k run, i was hoping my training these past few weeks would have paid off at least trimming my time by a minute or so and as i have reached the finish line it felt good cause for the first time i did not walk at all.
too bad when i checked the wi-tribe timing record the machine registered 02:45:15 which was so unreal, good thing i have my runner’s watch which recorded my real time… this aint a hate message but, i hope you guys can work out in improving your timing stuffs next time, sayang ang napakagandang “finish line” na timing chip…or maybe i was just the unlucky one who experienced this timing problem. my friends and i had fun though.

  18. great run experience… :-) ndi nkk-stress kc wlng msyadong liko liko s route, hehe… sakto lng ang layo ng water station at ang pinaka challenge lng ay ung uphill at ang flyover going to libis qc! sarap ulitin! but sad to say, after ng run, ndi kmi nkakuha ng banana case, hehehe…

congrats to all, we are all winners! :-)

  19. Great run. Challenging, fun and well organized from registration to finish. I just wonder why the blood type is a great requirement for registration! Has there been an incident when a 5k runner was seriously injured to require blood transfusion? Just asking.

  20. great race. it was the first time for a 5k runner like me to take on an uphill climb such as that.

admittedly nagustuhan ko yung huling liko after the uphill, parang 100-200m dash to the finish line kasi. nakakagana tuloy mag sprint after the tough climb.

magaganda ang loots, kulang lang bag. the banana case was a nice touch.

    congratulations organizers! job well done!

  21. a very nice run!!congrats to the organizers!!! sarap ng mga uphill…for sure dame di nka beat ng record nila sa 21k…sayang wala kme finishers shirt…see you again in the next run….

Yipee!!!

  23. I agree with majority of the observations. The race was very well-organized. Although next year, I hope it starts on time. Overall though, I thought this event is something runners may look forward to every year. C5 proved to be a challenging race route, which I think real runners are looking for from time to time.

Pa’n ba yan, next stop: CAMSUR!!

  24. Dear AXN, your event was great! But how do you think will you minimize the pollution along C5 during the duration of the race? Hoping you’d solve this by next year if you still choose C5.

    Sincerely,
Runner with lungs made of living cells not steel ;)

  25. after nag finish, ang haba ng pila para sa tshirt at medal. i lined up for 1hr pero naubusan na daw ng tshirt. what??! dapat lang 1000 lang below makakakuha. eh bib number ko 0387. i was really disappointed sa organizers nila. 1 tent lang ang nag distribute kasi. dapat yung mga staff nila from the other categories tumulong nalang sa pag distribute ng 21k shirt at medal. pati drinks wala akong nakuha!!

    i want my money back!!

  27. I hope more organizers would consider this route..Puede naman pala. Im sure a lot of us would like to conquer Ortigas-C5 again. Other than the freebies distribution, the race was close to being one of the most organized of the year. Good job AXN. Thanks for the route.. (We actually dont need the Skyway..Haha) Just a note to the upcoming races, We run Manila, KOTR and NB Power Run, tumataas na standards namin mga runners. We know an organized race with value for money can be done…

  28. Do we really need to mention that pollution should be a part of the organizers to-do list? Isnt it a job for all of us? Just a thought.

  29. We weren’t able to get the banana case. I also got my PF shirt here, it was so nice! I look really thin and fit when I wear it hahaha.

    This run’s PROS:
    * Nice route. Kung ano kinadali nung downhill area along Julia Vargas, ganun naman kinahirap nung uphill niya. It’s a challenge but it’s good.

    * Ample personnel along the route to guide the runners where to go or take a turn

    * Organized baggage counters. The best so far on the runs I’ve attended. And it’s nice that Manong Guard was there.

    * Reusable timing chip. It’s easy to attach, easy to remove and it looks really cool. Other runs should adapt the same timing device

    * Singlet was really nice.

    * Cheerers near the finish line, I must say, the cheers (and their balloons) pumped me up a little hehe.

    * Not too crowded. Kaya di sayang energy sa mga snake moves.

    CONS:

    * Although there was enough hydration stations, there was only water. Wala man lang bang 100 Plus, yung sponsor nyo? Kahit last station lang sana

    * Kulang ang give aways, loot bag considering how expensive the reg fee was. Binawi siguro sa singlet and timing device.

I only ran 5K so I can not speak for the other categories wherein nagkaubusan ng shirts and medals, but for me, of all the 3 runs I’ve attended this is the best so far.

Anyway, may results na ba? Where can we see them?

  32. i really enjoyed the run.. its really organized.. but of all the runs i joined.. this is the first time i experienced cramps..my pacing is for 10km but good thing i only registered for 5km..but still i finish the race.sayang i was not abe to beat my time..but ive still enjoyed it,, this is the Banana Event

  34. Ok yung run. Very challenging yung route. Sana inayos nila to.

  37. a very organized race. the gun start for 21K was late but luckily it wasn’t that hot. I’d run this race instead of any greentennial events anytime. (not a hater, just being a realist)

  38. //9 points to FinishLine.it was a great run!

    :)
    1. i think the gun start was on time — for 21k, it’s 5:30am as indicated in the racebib (i maybe wrong).
    2. baggage counter: i was there falling in line around 5am. and there’s only one person attending to racebib holders 0001-1000. but they made a good move by accommodating us in the tent for 1001+ since there were only a few runners falling in line.
    3. hydration/ banana station/s: very commendable, although most of the stations had water (Summit), only a few had water & 100 Plus.nonetheless, you can never go thirsty. good job..!
    4. portalets along the route.
    5. a totally new route for me (although i do my practice runs here sometimes – along c5 – down to libis and back).
    6. medics and ambulance – i passed by a runner in the libis flyover who was sitting by the gutter due to cramps. one of the marshals came up to him and ask how he was — and offered to call for an ambulance, not only once but i heard him asking the runner thrice. kudos to the marshal..!
    7. the marshals were very polite.and the guards stationed (after passing through the tunnel) would salute you and greet you..!
    8. the route was closed to the motorists, especially along C5, and the one after running through the tunnel. the libis area – they only allowed one lane for the runners, the other for the motorist i don’t think there’s any other route viable for East-bound vehicles. and for the safety of the runners, marshals were stationed strategically along e rodriguez.
    9. cyclists were utilized.
    10. photographers everywhere..!
    11. meet and greet + endless photo ops + brunch with ARC/Team RUNNR/ PF friends.
12.water stations for 21k runners was stationed separately. this is actually a good strategy since most of the runners in this category would finish at least 2 hours after the gunstart.
13.PF Booth — ahahah..! @pinoyfitness: looking forward to see the photos.. :)
    14.eat all can pineapple..ahahah..!
15.entertainment while waiting for the runners to cross the finish line — kills the boredom..though i didn’t enjoy that part. am not familiar with the bands.. :(
16.singlets, timing chip, medal, finisher’s tee — excellent quality.
15.despite the level of difficulty of the race route – i had a great run despite having a zero mileage for 2 weeks due to hamstring tendonitis and shin splints (am still recuperating…good thing the pain was bearable during the whole race). even a whole lotta FUN because i ran with my FRieNDS.

    :(
    1. the distribution of hydration bottles, medals, finisher’s shirt and loot bag caused a bottleneck of runners when most of the 21k runners started to trickle in at the finish line (about 2hrs 30mins after gunstart).
    2. finisher’s shirt – could’ve been unisex. some runners with racebib 0001-1000 didn’t get the right size. some male runners were given a finisher’s shirt for female. some didn’t even get one.

about the pollution: i agree with @Arland Guzman. this is everyone’s concern. all the routes that i have taken – there was always pollution – moa, bgc — name it..!

//i’m looking forward to another FinishLine event..good job to you guys..!

  40. Ok yung run very challenging for all 21K runners, hydration stations well set. Pasig enforcers laging nkabantay for all runners.

negative comments q ; late n nag gun start past 5:30am n for 21k. yung ibang water di n malamig, kulang s marshalls n mag a-assist s mga runners. Upon claiming ng finishers medal and 21K finishers shirt di di organize walang nag a-assist. Di p nabigyan yung iba ng shirt.

  41. well organized event aside from some minor cons:
    1. distribution of finishers medal & shirt took us almost an hour (dami pa sumisingit, di na nahiya sa mga nakapila). Kala ko bib #1-1000 sure na may finishers shirt, from what i saw hanggat may supply binibigyan nila w/o looking on bib#. Don’t they deserve to have a P100 refund or something in exchange for organizer’s shortcomings?
    2. Parang nakatago yung sponge for 21k.
    3. No big deal for me eto pro npansin ko lng every running event eh ang dami freebies nkukuha ng mga 2makbo sa 3k & 5k (nothing against the runners), while sa 21k wala na palagi natitira. Sana sa mga organizers you should consider this on ur next event to separate freebies for 21k as they usually finish the run after 2 hrs kaya ubos na pagdating nila. Just a suggestion.

  42. ive joined 21k.
    singlet and finisher shirt plng
plus the medal sulit na yung
    regstration fee which is 850.
    plus the freebies, lootbags,
    bananas, pineapple,
    drinks, cereal and picture.
i also appreciate the fact that
    there are kilometer markings
so i can easily check how far
ive run, and how long will i still
run to end up in the finishline
with sub 2 hours… hydration is good,
    routes are very challenging!

    its really worth it ^_^

    great job to axn.

  43. sana ganyan kahirap ang 21k at 42k para we can separate the boy from the real man… we run to challenge our self, to get the best of us, and see what are limits, who cares about the shirts and finishline memorabilia, each race that you run will always be different kahit ilan beses mo ng sinalian, it just shows how mentally and physically you have prepared. pag hindi mo natapos or your time was not what you expected, its not the fault of the organizer but you as a runner, run more train more…p.s im not pro AXN just and you guys are fortunate these run are more organize compared 5- 10years ago

  44. A very challenging route yet fulfilling after reaching the finish line. Gained new friends and overall happy with this event. Marshall and people behind the hydration area did a great job. A true AXN event. GOOD JOB :D

  45. I agree with Suplado_Ako! But regarding the finishers shirt, I heard na bandang huli ay pinamigay narin nila yung remaining shirts sa mga bib holder 1001 and up. No PR to beat and just enjoy the view!

  46. lagi na lang kenyans ang nananalo. Ganun din kasi sa Rizal Run. Dapat allowed man silang sumali sa run pero not entitled for the cash prizes. Or meron lang epsecial prize for winning foreign participants.

  47. Ejoyed sa run. The route was indeed challenging. Please give honor ang dignity to the 21K finishers. Lalo na sa mga first time na nag 21K.

  48. I enjoyed the route except for the pollution ofcourse. It was a challenge pero I was taking it easy. Must not get injured kasi meron pa run next week.
Alot of people were complaining di pa nagsisimula ang race. Baggage area would’ve been really crazy kung hindi sa, i don’t know, shall we call it quick thinking ng isa sa mga ladies to finally divide yung area into race categories instead of the “per 1000” so to speak.
I’ve known from the start na magkakaroon ng mga problema dito. Prepared myself for that. I took the consequence of choosing this over Rizal Run (which i’m also registered).
But, the only regret I have is not being able to bring home a 21k finisher’s shirt kahit na nasa below 1000 ang bib number ko. Obvious na clueless yung mga nagdi-distribute nito. At the end biglang naging agawan ng medals and shirts.

  49. Can’t see the result. Just an error message:

Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user ‘rtimingc’@’localhost’ (using password: NO) in /home1/rtimingc/public_html/Race/data.php on line 70
Couldn’t connect to SQL Server on localhost

    What might be the problem?

  50. Grabe ang hirap ng uphill… I was hoping for a sub-30 finish pero tinalo ako ng uphill!

  51. @ground_break
I agree. Medyo masikip nga, lalo na nung start ng race as the stage. The stage caused a bottle neck.

Anyway, great course. The flyover was a real challenge. Pity, the race results are still not up.

  52. its my first time to join a fun run.i had fun and i enjoyed it..but like other runners..pagdating sa freebies di ganun ka organized..pagod ka na nga need mo pang pumila just to get some freebies..at yung iba naubusan pa..but still im thankful kasi i enjoyed it as well as my officemates…thanks…

  53. Congratulations to Finishline. I believe it was a well organized event for a first time route!

This would be my 5th marathon and I must say you guys did pretty good! Of course there are areas for improvement but overall I believe all your efforts deserves a big round of applause.

The route was difficult but hey that is what AXN is known for…. Pushing and challenging people to their limits!

So again, congratulations… take note of the negative comments others are saying, use them to improve your service and continue helping people like me improve ourselves!

    Thanks!

  54. Congrats to the organizer of AXN run! For the negative comments please understand that this was the first running event of AXN sa Philippines. There’s room for improvement kaya see you AXN run next year!

The course was very challenging! Congrats! God bless!!

  55. quite organized run. marshalls are very supportive. though the MMDA still allowed vehicles to pass the closed roads.

hydration stations are not enough, they’ve only provided water which makes us feel bloated throughout the run.

  56. ok sana yung axn race, maganda yung singlet, ok yung running chip, maraming water station ( ok lang kung di malamig), maraming marshals sa daan pati pulis, ok din pati yung portalet in the middle of the road..galing…marami at maganda yung saging na inilagay sa water station…. problem ngalang, naubusan ng finisher singlet , magulo at di alam ng mga nagbibigay kung sino ba ang bibigyan…pati tao na di tumakbo .. nagbigay lang ng bib sa kasama binigyan din… dapat binigay rin ng mas maaga yung medal, sa finish line pwede naman ibigay, yung ibang finisher station like the 5k and 10 k station nakaupo lang at walang ginagawa habang nagkakagulo sa station ng 21k…tumulong na lang dapat sila sa pagbigay ng loot bag… masyadong maliit at dalawa lang ang pila … tagal tuloy naghintay ng tao tapos walang makuha … o kaya naman pang babae lang na size… reminder sa organizer na mas maraming lalake ang tumatakbo sa 21k runs…nakipag away pa yung iba… sa mga runners… yung mga runners ay nagbayad para makatakbo at makakuha ng prize ng race.. di naman kami nagkulang … maliit din pala yung starting area… kalahati ng kalsada kasi nakaharang yung stage sa mga runners… sana inilagay na lang nila sa kabilang daan para isa lang ang start at finish line ng mga runners… a little planning and common sense is needed to organize a race like this one… hope na di kayo magalit sa mga nag comment…but i love the c5 route… mausok nga lang pero kasama yan sa race.. sana mas maaga yung start para less ng kaunti ang usok na masasagap ng mga runnners.. 4:45 or 5:00 am….t y

  58. was really disappointed i didn’t get my finisher’s shirt after i lined up for it. pagod na nga, wala pang shirt. it was ok not to get anything if it was not announced way ahead. but it was. anyway, i hope the organizers do something to make up for it. i talked to one of the finishline guys after i left the long line and i was promised they’d distribute special shirts for those who weren’t able to get their finisher’s shirt. I hope they deliver what was promised.

  59. very challenging yung run, pero as they say nga palya lang dun sa loot distrbution after ng race. pero during the race ok nman kasi kalat yung guards, medics at ambulance yun lang nung lumapit ako sa medic para humungi ng pang-spray wala daw sila nun(LOL).

  60. and one more thing, nakahuli din pala ko ng isang namimigay ng shirt na nag sisilid so sinita ko. cguro part din yun kung bakit kinulang yung shirt.

  61. My running buddy (who was running 10k) overshot the 10k turn and went straight to Katipunan where he realized he was already running 21k.
He was running a strong 4th just behind the Kenyan’s- sayang!
The guy manning the 10k turn was not doing his job properly.
Other than that, the race wen’t well…

  62. I totally agree kay regenade! All in all, masaya pa din kasi new route at maganda ang weather! Kudos sa water stations, bananas at portalets! Also, dapat yong sponges naka-soak na sya sa malamig na water para mas convenient sa runnners just to pick it up and continue running.

Definitely sasali uli ako next year =)

  63. wonderful run! maganda yung route at mas challenging because maraming uphill. ang di lang maayos ay yung claiming ng medal dahil magulo at isang linya lang tsaka yung sa finisher’s shirt ay dapat first 1000 finisher ang binigyan hindi yung first 1000 registrants kasi hindi naman lahat ng first 1000 registrants ay natapos ang 21k.
