Hyundai FREE Fun Run 2011 – Incredible Update!

amazing! i think they’re committing another free race event if the event on April 2 turns out successfully…

Ayaw ko naman sabihing dapat lahat ng marathon at fun run events libre, pero bakit kayang gawin ng Hyundai and yet for a cause pa ito? Hindi ko rin maisip kung bakit kailangan magmahal ng husto ang ibang running evens, kung puwede naman palang i-shoulder ng sponsoring company ang majority of the costs kasi promo and marketing campaign naman para sa kanila ito. Pero believe na ako sa Hyundai, magka-carloan ako, Hyundai Starex ang pipiliin ko o kaya Tucson.

really really really EXCITED!!!

i was in second wind ortigas to claim my race kit at noon during my lunch break. it is a heat training because there was a line under the heat of the sun. i have to go back on the 3rd day, back wala ng pila. mahirap kumuha ng race kit kasi free lang ang race na ito.

Got my race pack this morning at Global City. Not so organized distribution Got there before 10am, got my pack past 11am, BIB and RFID doesn’t have the same number. Thankful pa rin since this is a free run… Kudos to Hyundai!

Planning to claim my our race pack later after work :)

I was at Hyundai Quezon Ave at 9:30 am and they told me to come back because the organizers weren’t there yet. I came back at 11am and there was a long line. I wrote my name on the wait list and had lunch. I came back at 12:30 and my number still hadn’t been called. I sat and waited. By 1:30, malayo pa din ang number ko. I waited another 30 mins and still about 50 people to go. There was another snaking “VERIFICATION” line for people to verify if they were at the correct hyundai location. They initially said that it was for people to check if the location was not written in the registration. When it was finally my turn, they guy turned me away because i didn’t “verify” my location first(which was already written on my registration form!). I was so turned off with the whole affair and left.

to all, wag na po sanang uminit ulo natin sa pag-claim ng mga racekit natin..konting tiyaga lang po..libre po kasi ito kaya siguro dinumog nga mga tao…pasalamat na lang po tayo at nakapag organize ang hyundai na “free run” complete w/ race kit at eto pa, may beneficiaries sila..

ako expected ko na from the very start na pag nag claim na ng racekit eh mataas ang percentage na magulo ito..pero iniisip ko na lang na LIBRE..hehehe…di ko pa nakukuha yung kit ko baka bukas..magdadala na lang ako ng book or something na pwedeng gawin while waiting…

sana po eh sundan ng ibang companies ang yapak ng hyundai..

To those who will claim the race kits, make sure you have IDs photocopied, and the authorization letters for those kits for pickup by a rep. Ayun yun nag papatagal.And please be ready to wait the whole time. Lets be patient with the people releasing the kits.. Maayos naman magbigay yung asa QC ave branch. Ang saya na nga na libre yung race, to add to that, the singlet is of better quality than the others you pay for (Mukha ngang sa Globe run). Tapos may timing chip pa.. Galeng!

Tnx hyundai, nakuha ko na race pack ko, pila ng almost 3 hours, hay kapagod… pro pg labas ko happy na ko :-) Yehey!!!

am disappointed with the distribution as well. we had asked a friend to get our race kit for us since he was nearest a hyundai distribution area. however after queueing for so long, he was asked for photocopies of ids for the participants, which were not part of the requirements. upon asking, my friend was told this was a new requirement and so we were not given our race kits. very disappointing. if there are new requirements (like the new waiver we scrambled to complete at the last minute), please inform the participants beforehand so that we can come prepared and not line up for so long to be turned away in the end.

siguro wag lang natin sabayan ang summer sa init ng ulo natin..peace!be greatful meron HYUNDAI na nagpa FUN RUN na libre..

sana tapatan ng HONDA, KIA, FORD, or MITSUBISHI itong run na ito..

Good job Hyundai!!! I hope na hindi dahilan ang free singlet at timing chip kaya super dami nag pa register sa event na ito. I have this feeling na hindi lahat ng nag register ay tatakbo. May iba dyan ay after lang sila sa free singlet etc. then okey na maski hindi na tumakbo kasi nakuha na nila yung race pack and FREE ito. I hope I’m wrong! Sana maging honest lang sila sa pag join.

Ang tagal na pong nag update ang Hyundai Re sa updates nila.. 2x sila nag email sa akin re change of venue and waivers!

We also have to do our part re on this matters.. Libre na nga nag rereklamo pa. ano ba naman tayo pag ganyan? Expected na ang dumog sa ganyang libreng event na napakaganda pa ng mga makukuha..

in fairness to hyundai it was clearly stated how to claim the kit including the requirements if someone wil claim it in your behalf. pleas naman libre na nagrereklamo pa kyo.

I went to Quezon Ave this morning. I just had my reg form verifie and returned in the afternoon to get the race packet. was really wondering about the id. i got 2 emails from hyundai, 1 is the new waiver, 2nd was the change of venue. no email bout the id. i just came upon it today in their website. anyway, before i returned, i was able to photocopy my id. it was chaotic in the morning, i know it is free and everybody should be patient, but i hope tomorrow, distribution will be better for those who will get their race packets. the only thing though that i noticed was their singlet sizes. small is not small, it is american-sized small. oh well, 3 people can fit on 1 small sized singlet. the quality though is great. yup the rfid does not match the bib number.

to nyar: hayaan mo na sila mag comment sa mga disappointments nila. it is a free country after all. magulo talaga kanina. di ka pa kasi nakapunta. yung comments naman eh para sa future there will be improvements. im sa damn sure hyundai will also thank runners who dare point out irregularities in claiming race packets because these are constructive critisms. so let them be.

negatives:
1. lack of an organized system in claiming race packets
1.1. verification
1.2. ids (was not informed through email, 2 emails were sent regarding change of venue and waiver)
1.3. rfid number does not match race bib number
1.4. very big singlet sizes

* people were over all patient enough to wait and wait and wait
* hyundai people were patient enough to distribute despite blunders

– hoping that next time there will be adjustments
– thank you hyundai for the free run

I arrived at hyundai quezon ave at 10:15 and I was number 63 already. But what delayed the process was that the kits arrived late at around 11:45 to 12. Those manning the center just began the verification process to speed up the distribution of kits when it arrives. So that was what happened. When the kits arrived they prioritized the more than a hundred of us who stayed and had our names verified.

I got my kit by 1:15 pm, after three hours. But I have no complaints. I even thanked the students who were doing the distribution. After all, it is FREE and I expected that there would be a lot of people claiming race kits. Libre na nga may singlet, RFID chip (a welcome surprise), at tote bag pa.

to avoid delays, kindly bring all the necessary requirements. just to be sure. Let’s all be responsible.

Sa Hyundai alabang, distribution was well done. Got my kit in less than 20 min. see you all runners on sat. more power to hyundai.

guys. its easy for you to say these things because you already got your race kits. i hope its not a crime to voice out my feedback and disappointment that i didnt get my kit.

i did not have the liberty of checking pinoyfitness every now and then to check on the additional requirements post registration. maybe it should have also been listed on the race form so that we would also have been prepared.

i dont want to seem ungrateful to hyundai, i would have lined up the whole day if that’s what it took to get the race kit. i understand that its free and this is just constructive feedback that not all were able to comply with the requirement — not all runs required a photocopy of an id if you were registering someone else so this was very easy to overlook. so maybe if the requirements were put on the form then it would have saved everyone the long verification lines today and the turnaways for those who didnt have the complete forms.

i am grateful for hyundai for sponsoring this free run and letting so many runners join, i’m just sad i wasnt able to be part of it because i lacked the requirements for claiming my kit. for those who were able to get their kits, have a great run. hope to have more of these free runs.

thanks hyundai, were able to get our racekits..but the problem is, our racebib numbers did not match our racetag…panu yon>> tatlo kaming kumuha..kasalanan namin di namin natsek habang nandodon pa kami na discover namin sa house na, eh ang hirap na kaya bumalik dun para iayos to, sa dami ng mga pumipila to claim their racekits.

I got my race kit today in Hyundai QC. Got there 4pm, got my singlet 445pm. Very organized, fast and FREE!!! read first on their website for the requirements. NO hassle at all. sinabi naman nila kung ano kelangan pag kukuha ng race kit. matutong sumunod nalang. The verification thing is not a problem at all. meron pa nga 20 race kits ang kinuha pero walang problema dahil nagbabasa sya.

Bib numbers & shoe tags didn’t really match at all.
No problem with that, because they recorded both numbers on each reg’n form anyway.

almost 1 month lang ang preparation ng hyundai for this event dapat intindihin natin sila, expense nila lahat tapos aangal pa. hay!

We redeemed our race pack in Ortigas home depot. We arrived there around 10:30 am, around 12 pm wala pa ding racepacks,1:15 pm na kame nakatapos..haysss..at ngayon ko lang din narealize na hinde rin match ung rfid ko sa bib number.oh my!and I guess lahat din ng nagredeem ng race pack nila sa ortigas hinde rin match ang rfid sa bib,kasi yung mga teenagers na babae sa redemption parang di sigurado kung ano ung ginagawa nila..sayang naman ung mga nadistribute na rfid na hinde match sa bib..hays ulet.. :(

wala naman cguro problem ung di match na number sa bib and rfid since ung rfid number naman ung lalabas sa result. was at global city kanina around 10:30 at medyo mahaba ang line but there were people checking the requirements na before you go in to get the kits so sa labas palang alam mo na kung may kulang ka pa so i think organize naman ang distribution, madami lang talagang tao. d ko pa nakuha race kit ko kaya balik na lang ako ulit. thanks to hyundai for this event.

I pose a question to the Hyundai organzers! Can and/or will you have an organized & secured baggage counter to be provided for your runners? I just hope that the incident that was experienced by so many during the Milo Elims last July 2010 won’t happen again especially in your race!

This run is definitely a slap on the faces of the hosts/organizers of so many “RUN FOR COST” running events nowadays, don’t you agree fellow ruunners?

@krstnjoyful and other with the same problem na iba yung RFID sa kanilang BIB #, according to HYUNDAI FB account nila at sa staff nila kanina is it’s not necessary na dapat magkaparehas,, ang mahalaga is naka register ka and yung time mo is mag rereflect din pagtapos ng event… :-)

We got our race kit in less than 30mins at Hyundai Headquarters. Mas mabilis kung single registrant dahil iba ang pila compare sa group. About the photocopy ng ID, matagal na po iyon nakalagay sa website nila (race packs distribution details).

I found a lost RFID at Hyundai Headquaters near single registrant staff’s table (right side) around 6:30pm. Ibinigay ko po sa staff, kung may nawawalan pakitanong sa kanila.

pag mahal ang race, daming reklamo, ngayon binigyan na nga ng libreng race, reklamo pa rin…

Ok naman konting aberya sa pag claim ng race packs. Ok nga yung mga tao ng Hyundai very patient sila kahit may mga nagrereklamo sa libre nilang makukuha. I think the management of Hyundai handled it very well. Thank you Hyundai for the free race! Your cars are awesome too! Keep it up!

@yingski, ur right iba dyan di tatakbo, libre lang hahabol, sa opis nga cnbihan ko cla na tumakbo pra di nakakahiya na meron clang free race pack d nmn pla sasali, aun tuloy napilitan asaran kc…hehehe

to everyone pls call 1st the hyundai branches before u get ur race packs so as not to complain about the process & long waiting hours, im sure all race packs now are already in their claiming sites…see you all…

and ang problem naman sa MAIN OFFICE walang HYUNDAI na name sa ilabas ng building.. kailangan mo pang tumingala para lang makita mo yung KPG etc na building name. enwei well organized naman ang mga staffs and very friendly indeed! at Thankyou pala sa mga nakausap ko! at yung mga mas nauna sa amin na isang baranggay pala ang niregister! kaya 2 hours ako sa pila!

I agree!kung susunod lang po talaga ang lahat at complete yung mga requirements na dala nyo magiging madali ang pag claim nyo ng race pack. I got mine and also for my 6 officemates kaninang tanghali at second wind running store ortigas and super bilis naman….yung iba naman, pumupunta sa mga distribution sites na hindi naman yun yung inilagay nila during their registration. hay…=)

sana this free run maging eye opener sa mga idinadaos na “FUND RUN” and “RUN FOR A COST”. Kasi sumusobra na rin yong iba,ang mahal na ng registration fee. Me mga sponsors na nga to promote their products but still they would demand expensive registration fees.Saludo ako talaga sa Hyundai! Sana lang maging very much fun ang aking run dito…

cant believe this fun run is this Sat na pala? just got my race pack yday from the Hyundai Q. Ave outlet. within 10 mins, as long as your requirements are ok and complete, claiming of the race kit was a breeze. ang cute ng tote bag nila! the max singlets size for women is up to Large only, humihirit pa nga ko ng XL eh.
the Organizers came in prepared unlike sa NatGeo, until now im still waiting for the very expensive singlet! installment kc ang bagsak ng supplies eh. tsk, tsk…

Got my Race pack last night around 6:45 p.m. actually it was my cousin who got it for me since i was still in the office. Everything went well and after 20 mins he got both our race packets complete kasi yung binigay namin na forms including photocopied i.d. tsaka endorsement letter. After verification they released it agad. the singlet was really cool! considering that this race is for FREE!!! plus beneficiary. IMHO companies should really follow HYUNDAI on how they manage to do a run without a cause. yung iba kasi ginagawa na lang talagang business ang run. puwede pa sana kung minimum lang angbabayaran pero minsan umaabot na ng 1000! Everyone wants to get fit but not everyone is capable of giving more than the minimum pay just to run…tayo na nga ang magpapawis tayo pa ang magbabayad na malaki… just my two cents…

mas nakakapagod tumakbo kesa pumila, kaya yung mga ayaw mahirapan, wag na lang sumali, para wala ng reklamo, masarap pa tulog nyo…
