I supported the Cebu City Marathon, Quezon City International Marathon at sayang lang di ako nakapunta sa Cam Sur Int. Marathon.

  2. Ito tiyak magandang salihan… I can guarantee my self it will be worthy run like I joined a months ago the 2nd Quezon City Intl Marathon, “Quality pays more than what you paid”. Sana Dry-Fit yung singlet like in QCIM.

  3. Thank God, they changed the schedule to to sunday. I would be able to invite a number of my workmates to this event becasue of the registration fee.

  4. yikkkes. we have to rebook our tickets. from 4t its going to be 12t… and the 21k is not included…..hmmmmm…maybe we will pass na lang this time…

  5. “The committee has decided to removed the 21K because the traffic concern in the area. I informed already the takbo.ph pinoyfitness.com to update the information. In the meantime you can check the official website themanilainternastionalmarathon.com” from 09276687558 one of the organizer.

It’s official no more 21K for these event…

  6. why remove the 21k category?

It’s classified as an international marathon, not as a fun run so there should be a half-marathon.

ano ba yan, “international” pa naman. I’m preparing for this race only to find out that there’s no 21k.

  7. I’m hoping that the Committee or Organizers of this Manila International Marathon will reconsider of including the 21k category. Thanks!

  8. those who are requesting for 21k,since 1981 wla tlaga 21k.buti nga may side event na ngaun.before 42k lng e2,i remember when i was only 10 years old i watch this marathon which my brother join the 1st up to 5th Manila/PAL intnl mrton.solo lng tlaga pag nagcross ka sa finish line.maluwag tlaga.wlang 10,21k runners ksabay.Sa start CANYON use not a gun!wapak!!

  9. i wish to participate in manila this year.my best time is 2hr09min52sec.i will be grateful if you consider me among the elite.thanks in advanse.

  10. wow if ever i join this event, matinding preparation ito! contemplating if i can upgrade my 5K to 10k already by this time?

    super marathon this will be!

  11. Ms_Mars: you can do it…You’ll need to add mileage in your preparation to boost your stamina.I started to run 3k and then slowly, increasing the distance and so far, I’m on the 15k na..Basta listen to your body lang po.=)

  12. @c21

thanks for the boost there! ill keep that in mind.everyone starts from the bottom level and then slowly rises, yeah!

do you apply any ointment or something to your thigh or calves to prevent them aching or gettin into a fatigue during the run?

  13. @Ms_Mars: correct!”everyone starts from the bottom level and then slowly rises, yeah!” =)

Anyway, haven’t try any of those. I don’t drink energy drinks as well, only water…

  14. @Park

i believe the reg has already started for this event.
bec i was at Chris Sports North Edsa yday to sign up for the Integrity Run and ive seen their singlets for the Manila Intl Marathon available.

    so go and register!

  15. @yingski

ive read somewhere that the time limit for the 42K is 5 hours.

huwaaaw! good luck to all runners who will go this distance! double Ironman?

  16. @Ms Mars, C21 & suplado_ako: Happy Easter!

The time limit of 5hrs for 42k is acceptable and possible for an average female runner. Just need to train religiously on a regular basis to develop a strong stamina & endurance.

May i mention a celebrity running idol Donna Cruz-Larrazabal who was able to finish 42k in 5hrs….woahh ang galing nya noh!

Then do a repeat in Milo which has a longer finish time (6hrs) but the runner is required to pass a certain distance of 42k w/in a certain time like first 21k should be completed in 3:30, in distance 32k, should be completed in 5hrs otherwise the runner’s gonna be pulled out of the race.

  17. @cecille

interesting! i didnt know that Donna Cruz runs?! impressive that she has become a marathoner in the process. ang galing nga!

very few celebrities are very open and vocal about their sports choices. miriam quaimbao and iza calzado, kim atienza are avid runners as well. read at Runner’s World mag abt Piolo Pascual’s 21K and full marathon participation in CamSur’s IronMan event. before that ive also seen Sports Unlimited hosts Dyan Castillejo and Mark Nelson’s out of town marathon conquests!

ive learned thus far that running (like other sports) entails lots of discipline, strength, endurance, the will and the drive to outdo and compete with oneself first aside from its great health benefits!

  18. Happy Easter to all!
@cecille, thanks for the info. are you going to join in this run? what distance? I’m afraid to run kasi more thank 21k distance, baka ‘di ko kayanin…=(

  19. @Ms_Mars – Thank you po sa info. Baka I’ll go sa full mary for this event. It will be my first and I think kaya ko taposin in 4 hours si mary.

  20. @c21: i’m not gonna participate in this event, 10k is bitin & a litt;e expensive for me, 42k naman is suicide. either i’m gonna have a multiple organ failure or my matris is gonna splatter around or malalaglag siya ha ha ha! Hope to meet you guys in intramuros run ;)

  21. @yingski: wow! full mary ka in this event…good luck.

@cecille: haha! 10k is bitin talaga…I guess there are other running events on this date. I’m still thinking about what distance will I run, if my runs this month of May will become successful and my body conditioning will become better I might go 42k if not then I’ll join other events. Anyway, its only half of the year pa lang naman by this time… (goal ko kasi to run a full marathon within this year). =)

  22. @c21 – Same tayo ng goal for this year that’s why mag full mary nako cause it’s now or never na ito for me. May time pa naman for training and preparation.

  23. @yingski: really? what’s your farthest distance na natakbuhan? Ako kasi 15k pa lang and time ko was 1:36:48 (slow!) that was during Globe Run4Home pa. I might see first my result for the The Valley Trail Challenge 25K/50K in Laguna on June 18 before I’ll decide on this. =)

  24. @ cecille – I agree with you. 10k is bitin talaga. Sayang wala kasing 21k.

@ c21 & yingski – goal ko din magfull mary this year pero masyado pang maaga kung sa MIM ako sasali. Baka sa QCIM :-)

  25. @ Burnz: we have the same goal pala…

  26. 5hours on a 42km is a tall order. you gotta train really hard to hit this target. my friend who trained for months finished his 1st marathon in 6hrs

id usually see donna on road races. she is strong. 21k in under 2hrs for her is easy peasy

  27. @barefootdaves

youre right on that my friend! training for a full 42K marathon is indeed a tall order! months of training is entailed. just like when ur training as a triathlete! pumped up endurance and physical capability and strict discipline among others are required.

local celebs Piolo Pascual has done IronMan last year and Drew Arellano is a triathlete and loving it!

how many 21Ks have u done so far?

  28. YES!there’s a 42k finishers medal plus goodies.to answers those asking why there’s no 21k?it’s because they want the 42k as highlight of the event.by the time we will cross the finishline no more side events runners.solo finish.

  29. Guys, this will be my 1st Full and i have been training really hard to beat the 5 hours cutoff! What is the gun start? im hoping for an early gun start ksi ang init ngayon sa umaga tumatakbo 5:30am pa lang naka labas na ang araw. Salamat!

  30. @c21 – I believed kaya ko taposin ang full mary. 7min per km in 42 kms is 4 hours 54mins. Long distance runner ako kasi matagal ako mapagod and my average is 5mins per km.

  32. @c21.. buti ka pa naka pag training na. Ako ay hindi maka pag training kasi trangkaso ako for a week dahil din siguro sa masamang panahon. I saw the singlet ng MIM at maganda ang tela at pulido ang gawa. They also told me sa Chris Sports ay may finisher’s medal daw ang 42K. For further verification pa. “Train as you race and race as you train”. Hope to bump on you in future races

  33. @yingski: too bad… =( i’ll still need to feel my body before I decide to run 42k here, if not then i’ll go for 10k.

  34. Running 42k in 5 hours requires a lot of hard training. But i am up for the challenge. Have done 2 full mary before, 6.25hrs and 5.52hrs. Now it’s got to be less than 5 hours. I hope i can beat this cut-off. Good luck to all.

  35. Dear runners,
Im priveleged to have joined the 1St Manila Int’l Marathon way back Jan.1981. I have no idea how it would look like then.I was a regular Siglakas runner thenn under Mr.Dorotheo.I was just inspired by many foreign runners frm all over the world including Cierpinski the 1976 Olympic Marathon champion who eventually won the race. I think his time of 2hrs 13mins has not been broken. Sna ma break ni Vertek. He is reallyfast prang d sumasayad ang paa.and i like his swing of arms which im using when im running. I was able to finish the 42km w/a time of 3hrs 51min.Lakad takbo ako.Every year i joined the race till 1987 the last time i joined. Im wondering if i can still duplicate that feat of mine.Im still running 10k and 21k races. Im already 50 but hope i can finish the race below 5hrs as the cut off time. W/ the help of my bro.noel in my training and preparation i think i can make it. Good luck to all runners.

  36. To: RunsNRoses
Thanks hope to see you in the race.Im on my deep preparation right now, make sure masunod ang trng, sched. wag lang umulan kundi cira sched.I know ma upset mga ibang runners kng umulan. Im hoping that this race will be a succesfull one just like the previous MIMs i have participated b4.That was 30yrs ago. Walang side events 42k lng talaga, kya pgdating mo sa finish line naka focus syo mga organizers, at mas madali kang i assist. Good luck again to all runners sa trng sched nyo rin..

  37. Dear Organizer,

i went to chris sport glorietta this afternoon to register but to my dismay, there was no RFID chip included as mentioned in the teaser. Please advise baka kasi di lang alam nung in charge sa reg site particular sa Glorietta Chris or if talagang wala, tanggalin na lang sa teaser ang words na “with RFID CHIP”

  38. me too ill join! excited to see diff foreigner runners compete head on with our own Pinoy homegrown!
what nation flag will it be at the finish lines?
    huwaaaw!

  39. Question lang po kasi nabasa ko sa site ng manilainternationalmarathon sa may registration na 6 hours ang cut off time? Ano ba talaga kuya? 5 or 6?

  40. @yingski: pareho po tayo ng question.. 5 ba or 6 talaga. pag 6 go na siguro ako sa 42k. Maybe pinoyfitness can clarify that… =)

  41. @jobz @c21 @yingski
from what i heard is that for the full mary, its 5hrs and under ..but yeah this shld be clarified though..

Tnx!

  43. guys, i went to ROX yesterday, i talk to someone in the registration area and they said that the cut off time for 42K is 6hrs
