Gear Review: Garmin Forerunner 945

1078

Part of the journey of running for years is that constant search of the best gear and equipment that won’t only provide convenience to track your records but also boost your performance as you hit the road.

If you’ve been following me on Instagram (@aliannatan), you would know that I’ve just recently transitioned from running to joining multi-sports such as aquathlon and it’s very timely that a few weeks ago, Garmin has sent me their latest multi-sports watch ‘Garmin Forerunner 945‘ for review and after spending some time with the watch and using it for a few weeks doing my workout and activities, here are 3 things that I personally like about it:

1. Impressive Battery Life

The Forerunner 945 can last up to 2 weeks of battery life in smartwatch mode, up to 36 hours in GPS mode and up to 10 hours in GPS mode with music. I’ve had the watch for 2 weeks, logged 50km+ of run (with music) and swim with it and only charged it 3x during that time.

2. In-depth training analysis

Everything you need to track your workout performance is definitely in this watch. From sleep to speed, the smartwatch measures it all and shares this data with Garmin Connect, where you can analyze your stats to your heart’s content. If you are serious about your training (we’re looking at you, triathletes and ultrarunners) and want to take it to the next level, the Forerunner 945 is definitely a sports watch you should consider.

3. Music storage and syncing from Spotify

Coming from Forerunner 220, this is my favorite feature of the Forerunner 945, as I love to run with music but don’t like to carry my phone with me. If you have Spotify subscription, you can download playlists to the 945 and play them, without a phone – all you need is a Bluetooth-enabled earphones.

Should You Consider Buying It?

If you want the very best sports tracking and training analysis available, obsessed over numbers, and want to track every part of your training and race day performance., the Forerunner 945 is definitely a good sports watch to consider. This watch is definitely designed for multisport athletes and ultrarunners.

Bottom Line

All in all, I can say the Garmin Forerunner 945 is one of the best sports watch available today. Not only it offers best-in-class sports tracking and training analysis, it also has some smart features like music storage and streaming, and has colour maps for on-the-go navigation (not also to mention it has a comfortable, lightweight design and a huge battery life). If you are a multi-sports junkie who seeks comfort and convenience, this watch is definitely for you!

Garmin Forerunner 945 is priced at PHP42,995 and is now available at all Garmin Stores Nationwide: Garmin Glorietta 5, Garmin SM Megamall, Garmin SM MOA, Garmin Uptown Bonifacio, Garmin Alabang Town Center, Garmin SM Aura, Garmin SM North Edsa, Garmin The Podium, Garmin Ayala Malls Vertis North, Garmin SM City Pampanga, Garmin SM City Cebu, Garmin SM Lanang, Garmin Festive Walk
