4 Value-for-Money Gyms Around the Metro

Let’s face it — being healthy doesn’t come that cheap. From the food that we eat to the equipment/gears that we need, trying to live a fit lifestyle can be really costly; especially in my case since I’m still a student. This brings me to my dilemma in enrolling at a gym.

One of my 2017 resolutions includes working out at a gym regularly. Aside from my writing endeavor, I would want my whole well-being to be well physically, mentally, and emotionally. I just haven’t started it due to my reluctance to enroll at premium ones because of my budget. I initially thought of those kind of gyms because the whole environment really helps for starters. The ambience is nice, there is a trainer to guide you, and the facility is of top quality. That may sound worth it for most, but it won’t work for me.

My schedule is very limited and spending a number of bucks at gyms I won’t regularly go to will only be put to waste. Luckily, I found a few value-for-money gyms that meet my budget and criteria. Those criteria are: 1. They have an adequate amount of equipment 2. They have shower rooms 3. They should costs below Php 2,000 per month.

Here are some of the gyms I want to share:

1. Maic’s Gym – Php 800.00

If you are from Marikina, you probably have heard of this place. The popular Maic’s Gym is really worth your money despite its unbelievably low price. They have complete gym equipment suitable for all your workouts and a trainer to guide you along the way. They also have a variety of facilities such as indoor tracks, boxing rings, etc. if you want to step up your game. This one is definitely up there in terms of completeness and ambience.

2. Gym Rat – Php 800.00

From the outside, Gym Rat may seem like your average “bakal” gym, but there is actually more to that on the inside. Aside from the usual array of gym inventory, they have a punching bag, some heavy ropes, and a few tires for members’ use– and that is something you won’t see in your normal neighborhood gym. Residents around the area and students are usually the goers of this gym.

4. Wellfit Fitness Center – Php 1,600.00

Wellfit is probably a very underrated gym that you should definitely check out. They are committed in providing high quality and effective training that is visible all throughout the session. Everything, from the shower rooms, to the equipment, speakers, etc., is equally excellent and notably clean that you might think that the gym is priced like other premium work out places. But it is significantly cheaper, but definitely not less in terms of quality.
