Takbo Mo, Regalo Ko is happening on December 19, 2015 (Saturday), 4AM at Lipa City Hall, Lipa Batangas.
The event shall be composed af three waves- the running elves wave for 3KM runners; the Santa Clause Wave for 5KM runners; and Reindeer Wave for 10KM runners.
This event was conceptualized and organized to support SOS Children’s Village in Lipa City, Batangas and Haven for Women in Rosario, Batangas.
As background, SOS Children’s Village provides for a place where orphans and abandoned children are given opportunity to live in an SOS family, grow up with SOS brothers and sisters, and are cared for by an SOS mother. The family-based care offered by SOS Children’s Village gives orphans and abandoned the love, security and respect that they need to have a happy childhood. Also, children in SOS families go to local schools and are offered special support according to their individual needs – be it with school work or therapy. On the other hand, Haven for Women is a substitute home care for women which provides temporary shelter and protective custody to women ages 18-59 years old who are victims of involuntary or forced prostitution, illegal recruitment, battered/abused women, victims of sexual abuse, women in detention, women victims of armed conflicts and others.
