1:17! That was the time of the 1st Finisher of the Corregidor Half-Marathon last January 12, 2014. Corregidor, also commonly called “The Rock” never fails to give an unforgettable “UPHELL” experience to even the most seasoned runner.
But besides the rocky hills and challenging race route, Corregidor is also known to have great spectacular view of old World War II ruins which serves as a military memorial to American, Filipino and Japanese soldiers who fought or lost their lives on the island.
Corregidor is now one of the most important historic destinations for tourists in the country.
So this year, me and my friends decided to hit 2 birds with one stone, rather than just racing “The Rock” we decided to take the “Tour” while running the Half-Marathon and turned this race to our very own Race-cation.
Here’s some photos of the great views from the race!
This year! The Corregidor Race Organizers also launched the very first Corregidor Marathon! Double the Challenge, Double the FUN! Right!? Right!? :D Just take a look at the Double the size Corregidor Marathon Medal!
So whatever your reason may be, either to take on the challenging “uphells” or take a tour around Corregidor, this race is definitely a race to mark in your calendar!
Special thanks to Teammate Ria, and friends Nylah and Jo-anne for joining me in this race-cation adventure! And ofcourse to Edward Kho organizer of the Corregidor Marathon and Half-Marathon for the great privilege of having Pinoy Fitness as an official Media Partner of the race.

See you all next year!

I’m proud to have finished the most punishing 21K race I’ve ever ran so far.
It was nice pacing with you Jeff and PF friends. I’m sharing my CIHM race post here:
“When it comes to epic races, CIHM will always be on top of my list. The run takes you on different surfaces from the cemented roads, muddy trails, grassy airfields and stoney beach fronts that would have your eyes feasting on Corregidor’s natural raw beauty and rich heritage while your legs takes a beating from the continuous UpHELL climbs covering about 200 meters several times during the race.”

ang saya ng CIHM. See you next year! :)
Nasa last upHELL ang enjoyment. My first 21Km :D Proud to finish it. Ang saya saya :D
My Corregidor Twenty-One is memorable. For it is the only race event that I lose my race bib while running alone during the last loop inside Malinta Tunnel. I entered the tunnel still having my race bib on with me and when I came out, it was gone! Creepy running indeed! For more about the race, read on my review!

Great photos! And Congrats!
I have a confession to make. You guys were my peg, ensuring that I kept a good 3-minute lead over your photo-taking, race-cationing group. This would be easy, I said, coz you were all stopping at all the points of interest along the route. You even “stole” one of my shots of the tunnel entrance. Lol! But who do I see from my peripheral vision upon emerging from the last tunnel crossing? The race-cationing Pinoy Fitness posse! and I swear there was no one behind me when I entered Malinta tunnel for the last time. You guys run really fast and even finished 10 seconds ahead of me. What did you have for breakfast?? i would like some of that in my next race. hehe!
Congrats! Hope to run into you again in the coming races.
@JCaesar: hehe, this is really a funny and flattering comment! We actually just ate KFC haha! Glad you enjoyed the race!
i really enjoyed the race, i’ll do this again next year or in december 2014. Sharing some pix : https://www.facebook.com/cecille.jimenez.338#!/cecille.jimenez.338/media_set?set=a.10202364323404506.1073741832.1085181572&type=3
Corregidor Marathon is no doubt the most challenging and sadistic of the all the marathons that I have finished! I did not regret the decision to continue participation in light of the sudden change of date.
