At first glance I thought I was looking at a picture of a Garmin GPS Sports Watch, but looking closely it seems that Soleus is also jumping into the GPS market by introducing the Soleus GPS 1.0 Digital Sport Watch.
Its Main Features Includes:
– High sensitivity GPS receiver.
– Current/total run distance in miles or kilometers.
– Current/average speed in MPR or Km/h.
– Current/average pace in MPH or Km/h.
– Current/total calories burned.
– 1/100 second chronograph resolution.
– 100 lap memory data storage.
– World time with 106 cities in all time zones.
– USB rechargeable lithium-ion battery.
– PU co-molded strap is comfortable and durable.
Lots of great features, but compared to it’s Garmin counterpart, it seems to be lacking an interface to an HRM and also the capability to store data to a computer. But if you only want to track your pace/speed and distance, this sport watch can do all of that for you.
The Soleus GPS 1.0 Digital Sport Watch is expected to be available in October 2011 with an MSRP of $99.
affordable Garmin ever…
Henrison, it’s not a garmin. ;)
ano bang magandang sports watch? yung pasok sa budget…
Garmin p din..=]
@Caviterunner – if you are really into running then might as well invest for it.. Garmin have all the things that you need, from training, preparation, up until the run event..=]
Nike+ GPS Watch pa din. :)
if gps is quick and accurate … i want one!
@caviterunner: depends on what your objectives are, gusto mo ba pang measure lang ng distance or gusto mo yung pwede mo din i monitor yung heart-rate mo?
Twice n akong walang result (ru2 and run rizal) kaya plano ko n rin bumili ng gps watch… May iba p b kayong masusuggest? Besides garmin. Mahal kasi eh and gusto ko maliit lang, maliit din kasi ako. :)
san ba merong shop ng garmin watches? :)
I’ve actually used it many times in testing and it works great!! just turn on the GPS, it gets a signal and you are off and running. Store the data when done, it even auto saves each mile if you set it up that way.
Garmin pa rin ako. But I’m glad that Soleus, Nike & even Motorola are now also producing gps watches (add to that Timex, Suunto, Polar, etc). The more, the merrier. Competition is always good. :P
@Ben W: Right! Competition will lower the price of goods like this one, sport watches.
@Annie..garmin is available in Time Depot at MOA and Shang…
@ann…. i bought mine in time studio sm north edsa….you might want to try it there…medyo limited lang ang stock nila…
how much yung ganitong watch? i’m using GPS android app s phone ko to track my distance. yun nga lang, pag mahina gps signal di rin accurate ung results kaya lang garmin is quite expensive eh. pati ung timex.
soleus makes affordable sports watches. I am a satisfied soleus watch user so I would definitely check this out when it is made available in the Philippines.
I just wish changing the battery later on is not as complicated as with the garmin.
@annie – u can buy Garmin at Sm North Edsa Annex s may tech and gadgets area s taas. or u can buy it at secondwind store. i bought mine at secondwind QC.. you can check their website –> https://www.secondwindrunningstore.com/contact/
