NEW PENALTY SYSTEM RULES:

Please be advised that we will implement Race Bands as penalty system where racers must complete
each obstacle to avoid getting his or her bands cut.
GENERAL RULES OF THE PENALTY SYSTEM:
● All racers will be given a set of bands to wear during the start of the race. The number of bands to be
provided will depend on the specific event that they are competing in.
● For each obstacle that the Racer fails to complete, one (1) band will be cut.
● Each BAND CUT is equivalent to the penalty of a 100-meter sandbag carry. Men will carry 2
sandbags while women will carry 1 sandbag. The racer is free to decide on how to carry the
sandbag/s (cradled, over the shoulder, on the head, etc…) but he or she CANNOT DRAG the sandbag
across the ground.
● A ribbon will be given for every penalty executed.
● Racer must finish WITH AT LEAST 1 BAND to qualify for the awards.
● The penalty / penalties will be executed prior to the racer completing the race and crossing the
finish line. There will be a dedicated area near the end of the race course where the penalties
will be performed. Remember to collect your ribbon (s) after completing the corresponding
number of penalties that you earned.
EVENT-SPECIFIC RULES:
ELITE (PHILIPPINE OPEN)
● Each racer to be issued 3 BANDS.
● Will be allowed 2 attempts to complete the obstacle STRICTLY WITHOUT ANY ASSISTANCE.
● After 2 attempts and the racer still fail to complete an obstacle, A BAND WILL BE CUT.
AGE GROUP CATEGORIES
● Each racer to be issued 5 BANDS.
● Will be allowed 2 attempts to complete the obstacle STRICTLY WITHOUT ANY ASSISTANCE.
● After 2 attempts and the racer still fail to complete an obstacle, A BAND WILL BE CUT.
OPEN CATEGORY
● Each racer to be issued 5 BANDS.
● Will be allowed 2 attempts to complete the obstacle, BUT ASSISTANCE WILL BE ALLOWED.
● After 2 attempts and the racer still fail to complete an obstacle, A BAND WILL BE CUT.
PAIRS CATEGORY
● Each PAIR will be issued 5 BANDS.
● Each racer will be allowed 2 attempts to complete each obstacle STRICTLY WITHOUT ASSISTANCE FROM PARTNER.
● Both racers should finish the obstacle BEFORE THEY CAN PROCEED TO THE NEXT ONE.
● If at the end of 2 attempts, any partner fails to complete an obstacle, A BAND WILL BE CUT.
● Complete the penalties TOGETHER and cross the Finish Line TOGETHER.
