NIKE FLYKNIT LUNAR 3 — MADE LIGHT TO GO LONG
The Nike Flyknit 3 is the next iteration of Nike Flyknit upper paired with softer Nike Lunarlon designed to give runners unprecedented strength and support for a plush ride.
The Nike Flyknit Lunar 3 is the third generation of the running shoe coveted by elite and everyday runners alike. The latest improvements include:
• An evolved Flyknit upper with a tighter knit structure in the heel for support and more open knit in the forefoot for increased breathability and stretch.
• Contoured, locked-down fit with an integrated tongue that stays in place and a plush collar for comfort.
• A reformulated Lunarlon midsole and solid rubber outsole informed by pressure-mapping data to provide a soft and responsive ride.
“The Flyknit Lunar 3 combines what runners love about the Flyknit Lunar shoe with evolutions of two of our best innovations and technologies together,” says Rob Williams, Senior Design Director of Running Footwear. “We listened to what athletes loved about the shoe and evolved the Flyknit design to deliver more of the superiour strength and snug support on top of an even lighter Lunarlon ride.”
FLYKNIT
Flyknit innovation enables designers to micro-engineer every stitch of the upper and eliminates the need to use multiple materials common in traditional sports footwear manufacturing. This yields a lighter, virtually seamless upper for the runner and reduced waste in manufacturing.
For even more support, Flywire cables are integrated with Flyknit to cradle the foot and provide a personalized, secure fit. The formfitting upper is so light, runners will barely know it’s there.
LUNARLON
A reformulated Lunarlon midsole delivers a lighter, more responsive and supportive ride from the cushioning runners have grown to love and expect from Lunarlon. On the outsole, pressure map data informed a pattern that more closely matches how the foot moves as it strides. Designers applied these insights to the rubber outsole that provides a smooth transition from heel strike through toe-off. The result is a lightweight neutral shoe with an even more natural stride and cushioned fluid ride.
“The Nike Flyknit Lunar 3 is the formula for the perfect run with an ultra-light supportive fit combined with soft, responsive Lunarlon cushioning that gives runners a plush feel through the entire run,” Williams continues.
The Nike Flyknit Lunar 3 is available beginning Feb. 12 in a nike.com exclusive colorway. It will then be offerend in 12 colors for men and women beginning March 5.
