Two noticeable things that are different this year is that the 2015 NatGeo Earth Day Run will now be handled by RUNRIO (since Coach Rio posted the very first teaser) and will be held in SM Mall of Asia! Exciting things ahead! Will there be a marathon like last year? Let’s wait and see! SAVE THE DATE!

  1. hay salamat, iba na ang organizer, ang ganda ng advocacy ng natgeo pero di kasing ganda ang pag-organize ng run for the last two years.

      • Oo nga. Ang sabi 21 and 42km finisher’s medal. pero ang naka post lang na medal design is for 42km lang. Update please :)

      • @rey gloria Finisher’s Medal and Finisher’s Shirt for 21k and 42 km. Anong kailangan kong basahin dun? Di ko alam kung saan mo nabasa yung 42k lang. Ang pagkakaintindi ko dyan may medal din ang 21k. pero nag tataka ako kasi walang design ng medal.

  4. Good! Rio handles better than other providers. Unlike last year’s run, I have better expectations in this year’s run. I’ll wait for further updates.

    • Last year mahal na talaga ang reg fee: 950 for 21k, 1500 for 42k, and I think around 500 for 3k. Kaya madami disappointed, magulo from registration, distribution ng race kit even on the race day. Then yun FS “21k/42k” ang naka-print, shared by 2 categories ika nga…
      I agree maganda ang advocacy ng run kaya I still join kahit hnd maganda ang feedback. Hopefully mas organized na this year and same pa din ang reg fee.

        and sa mga taong gaya ko na hindi pa kata ang 42k. ma experience manlang ang midpoint bet 21 and 42. hehe.

        since MOa to, tingin ko naman magiging ok to, sa in-store lang talga nagkakagulo at sa mga nagho-hoard tapos ibebenta ng sobrang taas yung race kits. grrrr!

  9. Marami kc ang nag uunahan sa registration ! Gnun tlga kaya ung iba para hndi maubusan ng race kit 1st day of reg. plang nakapila na. And speaking of runrio magaling tlga sya mag organize ng event ayos na lahat pag pnta mo tatakbo ka nlang unlike sa iba na kung ang start ng race ay 4am 3am plang nag aasemble!!

  11. Gusto ko lang share how the race organizers here in Jacksonville, FL, USA do it. (1stplacesports.com) We register online ahead of time with specific race kit pick up dates and location (tulad ng ginagawa ninyo dyan) OR register on the race kit pick up dates sa mismong location na convenient sa u sabay kuha na rin ng race kit. Nakatabi na mga race kits ng mga nag-register ahead of time na bayad na sempre. What’s available are EXTRA race kits (race shirts of different sizes) for walk-ins sa lahat ng registration venues. The reality is meron size na hindi na available and you have to accept that or not (and not register). Things happen also na dahil sumobra ang nag register, kukulangin sa Medals or Finisher’s shirts (by the way, we don’t get FS sa race kit). So what you get in the meantime is a card na ibibigay sa u in lieu of medal after crossing the finish line for pick up at a later date at a registration venue. Doon mo pa lang makukuha medal mo. The organizer usually posts it sa website nila when medals are ready for pick up, usually after 2 weeks, depende sa dami. Naka join na ako ng races dyan pero hindi pa nataon un highly popular races organized by RunRio. Anyway, this is just my input. So far, it works just fine after a year of joining races here. I hope it gets bettter there.

Kung hydration/portalets along the route ang pag-uusapan, wala akong masasabi sa Runrio talagang well put out yan and that’s the reason why mahal ang mga races na Runrio ang nag oorganize; jan napupunta ang mga pinang-register ninyo/natin. Pero when it comes to the registration process personally for me, dun sila sobrang palpak. I have been joining races organized by Runrio for 3 years now and frankly as much as possbile ngayon, I don’t want to join any race kapag Runrio ang organizer. I just joined Condura Skyway Marathon hindi ko alam na Runrio pala ang co-organizer nila but I ran still kasi dream ko makapag-marathon sa Skyway. Now, they will organize NatGeo which is a milestone run for me sine my very first run almost 4 years ago was in this event at 3km. I wanted to join here kasi maganda ang advocacy ng race pero I’ll wait for more details and maybe other races/runs na okay din kahit hindi Runrio ang organizer.

    • hindi pa ba organize ang runrio sayu? na experience mo ba un ibang nag organize? un di nagana un orasan?.. kulang kulang ang tent sa baggage? kulang kulang sa marshalls? hydration stations portalets?

  19. Para sa kin, ok naman yung RunRio mag organize nag event. Pag may query ka sinasagot naman nila.

    Mahal, oo pero makikita mo naman sa facilities na inooffer nila.

    Pero minsan isipin din natin na RunRio lang ang organizer pero ang may last say pa rin ng mga queries natin eh yung brand, eg Sofitel, NatGeo.

    Sa registration, medyo tagilid pag prepaid, mahal pag online. Pero mas pinipili namin na online para less hassle.

    Wala kang credit card kaya di ka mapag online? Try mo yung service ng GCash na globe na may AMEX number ka. Parang debit card lang sya.

    Pero mas ok sana kung mag ala 7-11 yung RunRio sa registration process.

    Sa isang taon na pag run ko, almost lahat yun RunRio kaya medyo nakakasawa na din yung route. Kung trip nyong maiba naman yung route, try nyong sumali sa event ng RunMania at Prince Multi-Sport, sobrang maalaga sila sa mga participants nila. Yun lang.

    • RunMania is more on province (Laguna) since andun un main office nila. Pero compare to other event sa Manila, mas fresh ng kalahati ang hangin sa Province compare dito sa Manila.

      Sali lang ng sali, kung may reklamo, edi wag sumali. Di naman kayo pinipilit na sumali. As easy as that. Marami naman nag oorganize ng race.

      At gaya nga sabi ni RUNtarantantan B. Meily na hindi madali mag Organize ng isang race. Lalo na sa mga runners na hindi nakukuntento. LOL

  20. its highly doubtful that there will be a full marathon for this event… but if runrio does push thru with adding it… i will most definitely run the farthest distance…

  21. phidippides, bakit mo nasabing “highly doubtful” ang full marathon this year eh may 42K category yung nat geo run last year?

    was there a particular experience based on last year’s run that might hinder the organizer from including the 42K category this year?

    • while there was indeed a 42k last year, I am quite hesitant that they will pull the trigger for another 42k this year… first because this is the first time runrio will be handling this event, and as much as I am confident in their ability to organize an event… a 42K requires months in planning and coordination… CSM just ended and they have the RU1 on queue… and that in itself makes it doubtful that they will have the 42K category… add to that the point that since this is their first time they would be handling this event they would most likely prefer it to be compact (if you catch my drift) so as to make the event more manageable…

      If they pull of a full marathon though, I will be running on that category…

      • Ilang years na po ba nag coconduct ng 43km ang runrio? Ngayun lang po ba? May iba pa bang organizer na nag conduct ng 42km na maganda at maayos?

        runmania? runtarantantan? leadpack? pepsquad? anong organizer ang may napatunayan na sa 42km sa BGC or CCP/MOA?

  26. ok naman yung last year except that i dont like the finisher shirt nakaka sugat subra tigas and magaspang. I hope this time ok na siya. The year before last kokonte hydration. Last year me tank na nakatabi para di maubusan.

      • Excuse po, Si Aaronman po tinutukoy nyo na Medal Hoarder. Kasi siya po tumatakbo lang yan pag may medal na kasama. Tapos nagyayabang pa sa FB na madami na siyang natakbong 21k eh hindi naman siya pumapayat.

  34. If you look at the registration page, meron nakaindicate na Baguio leg on May 24, 2015. Can anyone verify this? Sana totoo at ma push through. :)

  38. Bakit andaming against sa runrio? I joined cebu city marathon nung january and runrio ang organizer nun (21k) and i consider that one as “painless run”. Ive been joining races for almost 2yrs at masasabi ko na magaling ung pag organize nila. From the registration, hydration, route,race bibs and singlets and medals. Maganda mag organize ang runrio,so i decided to do my first full marathon under this organization. So see you the soonest runners!

    • madaming against pero madami sumasali.. mukha lang against.. pero sali din sila.. come on pag dating sa mga hydration marshalls at running village mas ok ang runrio.. siempre lahat naman ng organizer di perect pero mas angat sa akin ang RUNRIO..

  46. ..yung chart-sizing ng singlet OA sa laki ha…confusing, for example sa size ng small, imagine 24.5 inches that is two (2) feet ang lapad ng chest or dibdib hehehe..!!!

  55. when people join this kind of event, it is a common understanding that they are highly expected to RUN. after all, the operative word in this event is “RUN” from the title: Nat Geo Earth Day “RUN” 2015. if you plan to just walk on 21k or 42k and beat the cutoff time, by all means, you don’t belong here pal. KINDLY respect the distance even if this event is a mere fun run. train and at least hit a 9 min per kilometer pace. don’t just walk from start all the way to the finish line.

    organizers, suggestion lang, i think it’s high time that you change the rules of the game and pattern it from prestigious races abroad. everyone who crosses the finish line will get a finisher’s shirt, loot bags or maybe a kiss or a handshake/pat from coach that you did a good job. no problem with that. but only those who cross the finish line and satisfy the time requirement (say: 3 hrs & below for 21k and 6 hrs & below for 42k) will be able to get a medal. organizers, you don’t need to be a medal factory before race day. you will only advise your medal suppliers the actual no. of medals to be produced only after the race. runners who satisfy the time criteria will claim their medals (with their names engraved on it) at a designated store/location a week after the race.

    the reason i am suggesting this is borne on the necessity that you organizers should, by now, be able to significantly distinguish and give due credit to those who (1) just train without passion, (2) those who train with all their heart & soul, and (3) those who don’t train at all. parang sa kolehiyo lang diba na pag nag puyat ka para mag-aral ng husto, you get a grade na “UNO”. kapag nag bulakbol, “SINGKO”ng duling ang grade mo.

    i don’t know. just my two cents.

    • Mam, si AARONMAN yan ang numero uno pagdating sa ganyan. Nung RU1 hindi siya umabot sa cutoff hindi siya sumakay sa sweeping marshalls pero meron medal at shirt. Hindi siya nagtetraining. Tapos pinagyayabang pa nya sa fb na madami siya natuhog. Kapal talaga ng mukha. Hindi naman pumapayat.

  59. I think its okay to let them join the runs. To learn to respect the distance and value training for the decent time. As they say: A journey of 26.2 miles begins with a single step.

  60. Cut off time usually 8am yan pero sinasabi nila until 7.30am pero may extra time until 8am yan sa Roxas Blvd. Based on my observation.

  66. Comment lang ako sa Registrations, sana ginawa nyo nalang pre paid ito since nag kaka ubusan ng singlet for 21k/42k.. may race bib pero ang singlet ubus na!

    Nasa NatGeo daw po un decision ng ganun procedure not Runrio. So Don’t blame Runrio kung di na supply ng maayos ang singlet.

    Mas ok pa ang Prepaid para pag dating ng race claiming kit lahat meron at preferred size ng singlet at FS.

  70. RunRio, hope you replenish your singlet supplies sa instore registration with bigger sizes. Doesn’t make sense that you replenish with smalls only everyday. The fact that your staff is listing those who need singlet replacement then you have an idea who needs what size. Wasted 4 days of going back and forth only to know No Available Size yet.

  71. Replenish singlet supply with bigger sizes. C’mon 950 for 21k and not getting the right size. staff will tell you to get the small one and replace the next day only to find out no bigger sizes after following up everyday.

  73. I feel you mikeP dahil parehas lang tayo ng naranasan. Mabuti at napalitan naman nung Friday. Nakakapang hinayang dahil panget ang quality ng singlet mas maganda pa yung Rexona.

  77. Kelan po ba delivery ng race kit para sa mga nagregister online? sana naman may sumagot na. kahit sa facebook walang sumasagot. baka mamaya yung mga nauna na nagregister online pa maubusan ng singlets. thanks!

  78. i got medium singlet,i wanted medium finisher shirt, XXL ibibigay saken toinks, anu gagawin ko dun, kumot? but i registered anyway, sana pwede papalitan

  79. 1 month na registered online pero wala pa rin singlet. ginamit muna yata pera para sa racekit nung mga nag-instore registration. ha ha!

  80. kung sa instore nagkakaubusan ng sizes, paano naman yung nagregister online? baka naman sila pa maubusan sa bandang huli.

    Sa ONLINE registration kc DOUBLE EXTRA LARGE na lang ang available FS size, does it mean…..
    1. Ubos na rin ba ang smaller sizes if I register INS TORE?
    2. Or sa ONLINE lang nagka-ubusan ng sizes at may smaller sizes pa sa IN STORE?

  88. bakit yong natanggap kong singlet mali black ang white diba yellow ang black sa 21k pano ko ma papalitan to dapat naka organize naman at yong kasabay ko wala pa isang request lang naman kami… paki sagot naman.

  91. wala man lang sumasagot sa tanong dapat d nalang kayo nag post na ang black&white ay 5k-10k and yellow&balack 21k-42k mali naman dineliver nyo saakin 21k ako black&white singlet anyare???????

  92. Kelan magkakaron ng malalaking sizes sa Toby’s MOA? Pano sa malalaking tao?
    Paki reply naman po, 2 weeks na ako bumabalik duon wala pa rin maigay na size sa akin. Waste of time nangyayari. Tatakbo ako ibang singlet gamit ko, para saan pa tumakbo ako sa NATGEO.

  95. Kelan po kaya marerecieve yung singlets? March 17 po ng register. 21km po yung tatlo. Sana naman po tama ang sizes and kulay ng singlets

  98. sa mga nakareceive na ng singlet. ano pong category kayo sumali. ako kasi 21k tapos white ung lining ng singlet na nareceive ko.
