  1. kaya pala.. first time nyo nga po… halata nga,.. sir/mam.. 6am gunstart for 30k… is so init na po.. time interval nyo po is mali,,,. tingnan nyo po ung ibang run… 21k sometimes start at 5am… kz almost 1:30 hour natatapos ng isang baguhang runner yan,,,and alam naman natin na vacation na,..kaya minit na.. 6am pa lang… sana adjust nyo po.. maganda na man po ung mga giveaways ng run and pang masa na din po… kaya yan lang po comment q..

    • Thanks for your comment. It may be our first time to organize a run event, but as a US NSCA Certified and US Experienced Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and Multiple Finisher of Ironman and Olympic Distance Triathlon in the US and Philippines, I can definitely assure you that we’re not a newbie when it comes to races.

Let me first make a comment on your statement ” tingnan nyo po ung ibang run… 21k sometimes start at 5am… kz almost 1:30 hour natatapos ng isang baguhang runner yan “. In my experience, I still have to see a beginner finish a 21K in just almost 1.30.

Next. let me lay out our reasons for making the 30K start time @ 6AM.

      1. Some portions of the route is not well lit, we cannot compromise the safety of the runners and race officials. We don’t have enough resources to light up the whole route. We’ve got 10 water stations and 4 U-turns that will be staffed by at least 2 persons each, we don’t want them moving and lingering in the dark.

      2. We want our runners to get as much sleep as possible, waking up too early leads to undesirable sleep deprivation, which in turn will definitely lead to decreased athletic performance. (This is partly a personal sentiment which I have experienced and that I plan to implement on our races).

      3. We believe in the training principle of specificity. To achieve a desirable race performance, you should do race simulation. If you are worried about the heat, then you should make your body adapt to it by running under the heat. It’s part of the challenge that needs to be overcomed,as we all know, conquering challenges is one of the reasons most people race. Because if it’s easy, everybody will do it.

In the end, we will just walk the talk and make every runner our guest come race day…our anniversary!

We hope to see you race on May 1.
