  1. Very great run! very nice route. Beautiful medal. Basta greentennial hindi ka madidisappoint. I truly made a wise decision to run at Mission Run. ). Uulit ako dito!

  2. nakakaloka at 59min.

  3. I agree….Im a 10K runner too kanina with my friends and we have also 1 blue bracelet na suot. Because yung isang u-turn in charge na lalaki, naubusan na daw sila ng bracelet so halos lahat na kasabayan namin 1 bracelet till the finish line. We asked some marshall or guide organizer with their ID at sabi , ok lang daw yun sabihin na lang na naubusan ng bracelet…so i agree with enak. At nakakalito kasi ang daming nagtuturo at hindi masyado clear ang instruction ng iba and also the signages medyo confusing sa route ng 5K AND 10k…..but despite of the rain i enjoyed running and exploring the wall …..tks.

  4. Yah good run…. I will join again…. but for improvement and suggestions…. magulo talaga yung routing nila…. I also got lost…. biruin mo yung 3rd placer sa 5k run finished in 30 mins or so… i arrived 31 mins…. paano… pinastop ba naman kami sa intersection kasi may dumadaan na sasakyan…. nakakasira nang momentum…. we stopped around 30 seconds…. dapat kasi yung mga sasakyan patigilin not the runners…. tapus doon sa likuan nang 5k at 3k pabalik dumrecho ako kasi yung arrow nang 5k nakaderecho…. e dapat pala liliko ka…. I just realized mga after 500 m kasi yung mga katabi ko mga 3k runners na …. so I had to go back…. hahahahahhaha….. pero all in all I enjoyed the race…. just maybe some points of improvement next time…. What I liked the most………. yung mga medals ay blessed by a priest…. so super duper like ko yun….

    • I think it is in the bib ………. kasi pare pareho kami nang kulay nang bib 3k 5k at 10k may nakacheck lang sa bib…. kaya mga marshalls di na rin nila madistinguish kung mali na tinatakbuhan mo….

  5. And meron din ako napansin.

  6. Parang kulang sa distance? The wall is slippery and narrow. But its ok… It was fun. :) i agree with the issue of the marshall ung iba inde alam ung route. Toinkz. But all in all conquering the wall is great. :)

    • you are right run saida run…. heheheh sa ibang run kasi malayo ka palang sinisigaw na nila 5k dito 10 k dito…. etc etc… so di ka na tititgil para tanungin saan ka…. tapus ang signage kitang kita mo naman kung saan ka talaga liliko… what happened here is talagang titigil ka para magtanong saan kasi yung signage magulo ang arrow…. kami kaya lahat sa batch namin na tumatakbo nawala… hahahaha parang lima kami ….. hahhahaha lima kaming bumalik…. hahahhahah …. ang anak ko he did not realize na mali pala siya pabalik…. he only realized it noong nagkwekwento ako na nawala ako… e siya pala doon sa 3k dumaan pabalik…. bwahahahah….

Kasi pagtumatakbo ka pagod ka na…. di ka na dapat magproblema sa kung saan ka pupunta…. dapat mga marshals na ang magsasabi…. e ang mga marshals nanonood….. hahahhahah….. pero all in all masaya pa rin naman…. ako nagenjoy ako with the run because it is my first time to run in intramuros….. plus this is not a timed event so ok lang…. hahahhaha kahit sala salabat kaming tumatakbo… nagkakabanggahan kami kasi may pabalik may papunta sa iisang kalye… hahahhahah

  7. Guys, don’t forget the mission of the run – to raise funds for the construction of the Baseco chapel. Balita ko hindi full force ang race organizer dito kasi maraming volunteers ang Knights of Columbus to save on costs like boy scouts/barangay as marshals, and even senior Knights of Columbus members manning baggage and finisher shirts. Nakita nyo naman.

Ang importante – nakatulong tayo sa Baseco Chapel. Thanx!

Kudos to the senior Knights of Columbus members who volunteered to be in-charge of baggage counter and finisher shirts! :)

  11. what’s your mission in this run? is it the medal, finisher shirt, the route, your very important photos?? or simply to run and help KOC on constructing a chapel for Baseco Compound residents… naman!!! nag-volunteer na nga yung mga elders at mga madre to help this run.. malamang nga nyan pati yung ibang marshalls libre rin kaya siguro ganun (no offense meant), hydration NAWASA okay naman… so ‘wag naman masyadong demanding mga fellow runners.. dun kay KULOT pampered lahat (hydration aand lootbags) wala din naman pictures lahat ng runner.. next time it’s your choice kung saang run mag-register… PEACE!!!

    • Tama ka po dyan… one reason why I run for the Mission Run (instead of joining a posh run like NBRun) for the reason that I want to do something for others in my own little way through my passion in running… this one has a cause to help plus the reason that I want to appreciate the beauty of the Old Walled city which is our heritage… I like to do away/ take time out of some posh/elite running events at times (with registration fees soaring high) so it would be worth it to run for a cause of helping others, and you can also have lots of better benefits (running for health, meeting passionate runners, appreciating the heritage site with its history and most of all – having a lot of people truly benefiting from the cause of having a shelter for worship). I have less expectations for this run but had looked forward to appreciate all the simplicity of it, and found myself savoring the experience with smiles, it was indeed one of the best runs I had despite of all the …. now if you like all the pampering (superb music, lots of camera flashing on you like your a star, all the good chip timing devices, flowing energy drinks, etc.) then you have option to join events instead… be reminded of the mission why you joined the Mission Run.

Especially the Route..naiiba.

  13. the race could have been done better. sayang yung finisher shirt. akala namin dri-fit. pero ok lang. the important part is that we were able to contribute to something that aims for a good cause.

wag sana tayong magsawang mag-join sa mga ganitong klaseng event. you may not get your money’s worth, but it will definitely go to a better output.

more runs, greentennial! there is no perfect running event, but there’s always a room for improvement. God bless us all! :)

  14. i felt the run here compared sa Run for Pasig… twas my first solo run and hindi ako nanghinayang kahit wala stretching… :) may patutunguhan ang 600 ko… hehe…

  15. I am glad with the turn-out of the comments of my fellow runners. It looks like a lot of us are beginning to gain the level of maturity that every sportsman has to strive for. Not so long ago, I have made a very lengthy comment about why we run, that when the time comes when we do not care anymore about singlets, medals, timing chips, lootbags, marshalls and several others, but instead choose to run for the simple reason of “loving it” and for physical fitness, then we can already proudly say that we have achieved already a certain level of maturity. Pinoproblema mo ba ang hydration stations, then by all means bring your own. You don’t fancy the singlets and the finisher’s shirt, then the hell, at least I was able to run. More especially if we did it for a cause.

Sarap lalo ng feeling kung you did what you love doing and in the process extended some form of assistance to the needy. Why?? Kasi come to think of it, magkano lang naman ang registration fees nila. P 600? Mas mura pa yung 5k and 3k. Pero how come they were able to come up with decent looking medals and shirts? Bottomline is kung gugustuhin ng organizer, they can deliver these things to their customers. To think na this is supposed to be for a cause, nagawa pa nilang iproduce ang lahat ng ito, yet I am pretty sure they will still have enough to build a Baseco Chapel. So I find it unbelievable for the big runs not to do the same when they charge more and have plenty of sponsors. Logic, if an organizer can produce finishers shirts and medals for 400 pesos (tama nga ba para sa 3k), with all the perks of hydration stations, singlets and others, it follows then that kaya palang icover ng ganung halaga ang lahat ng ito. No need for exorbitant registration fees. Unless the reason for the run is really –BUSINESS.

Uulitin ko- sa maliit na halaga may mabibigay na palang medal at finishers shirt, yet all the perks that go with a normal run is still guaranteed. Hindi kailangan ng mahal na bayad. Bakit? Maybe the singlets or the finishers shirts or the hydrating stations are not paid out of the registration fees. Maybe these are borne out of the loving hands of the sponsors. I need not explain further, obvious naman eh. Kapani-paniwala ba na pagbabayarin ng Maynilad and isang organizer lalo pa at for a cause. For the private sponsors (such as Pocari Sweat etc), the sponsorships are a form of advertisements of their products, so willing to give sila, give lang ng give. Kasi napopromote produkto nila eh. In some runs, the organizers ask the sponsors to pay for the singlets, in exchange of which, their logos get stamped on the same- advertisement ng products and lalabas. Which only means that a bulk of our registration fees redounds to the organizers. If the run is for a cause, then the money reaches the beneficiaries. If not- then your guess is as good as mine.

Kaya naman fellow runners who are beginning to realize the real reason why we run, I salute you all. Proud ako sa inyong lahat. I am sure that we will be able to choose the runs that would be for the good of more people and not for a select few. Dahil to reiterate, it will always come back to the very reason why we run- the love for the sport and physical fitness and nothing else.

P.S. You may wanna venture into multi-sports na such as Duathlon and Triathlon. Ibang level ng high and maturity. Thanks.

  16. I enjoyed the run, it was exciting with different route to run plus as if we were in running in historic era……intramuros is really a great place…..also Im proud to be part of this good cause…..

  17. People we are not complaining…. we are just giving suggestions for improvement….. ofcourse we are happy to be part of this event…. actually the mere fact that we choose this against the NB run is already an indication that we want to help rather than the glamour and pampering of the other organizers….. infact if in the future there is another run for koc I will still join…… just be proactive and accept suggestions of improvement….. in this way we will attract more participants…. no issues for me on the medals and the finishers shirt or photographers….. just on the routing pabalik…. hindi mo na talaga alam kung saan ka babalik siguro kulang sa briefing mga volunteers….. plus pag may sasakyan runner ang titigil hindi yung sasakyan…. hehehehhe weird di ba? heheheh … but do not get me wrong, I appreciate the smiles on the faces of those manning the event, the volunteers… halata talaga na volunteers at first timers sila… heheheh (kasi nanonood sila sa mga runners hahahha) … but they are so friendly……finishers, baggage booths…. so heart warming…… all in all 90percent thumbs up ako…. 10 percent lang naman yung improvement….. ofcourse there is no perfect run…. just take the suggestions positively…. hehehhe….

  18. ako to be honest I chose this run over Power Run kasi malinaw na may benificiary (Baseco Church). In the first place I am a RUNNER for a Cause.

I salute Greentenial.

  19. it’s my first time to join a race. i enjoyed it a lot. sumali ako sa 5k run. mukha namang generally organized un event. wala ako naging problema sa route. and what is more important is the cause. maraming running events n nakalista sa mga running sites but i opted to join the mission run kasi malinaw kung san mapupunta ang proceeds. i salute the organizers of this event. ganda ng intramuros. sasali ulit ako next time. for a beginner like me, running for a cause is much more important than glam running. salamat po.

  20. first of all, i wasnt given ANY bracelet at all LOL and im in the 1st 100 runners or so in the 10k distance hehehe.

    anyway …

    PROS

    nice scenic and historic route!
    nice finsiher shirt, medal, singlet
    clear beneficiary
lots of volunteer photographers (kudos guys!)
water stations didnt lose cups of water (or at least when i passed by them)
presence of the knights and nuns in the run
    may raffle (kahit di nanalo)
    vibrant emcees (naks!)

    CONS

directions in the route are kinda messed up (confusing)
scarce water stations for 10k at least
hazardous areas in the wall run (stairs, mosses, etc)
vehicle traffic getting in the way
small activity area and stage area
    bystanders getting in the way
no timing device (not that bad actually)

it’s a good run overall! now im considering doing another Intramuros run hehehe.

  21. run is fun medyo naging magulo lang nung tumatakbo na kami kasi ang mga naka assign na marshall medyo magulo lalo na yung mga point na iikot ka na kasi you have to asked them lalo pat nagkakasalubong na ang 5k at 10k na mga runners..in some point kailngan pala sa kanan ang 5k diretso naman ang 10k pero di naman agad sinasabi o ina announced ng mga marshalls…

the event was good..mabuti na lang ang mga madre mababait…

Im happy that Im part of building a Baseco church..

    GOD BLESS!!!

  22. To my co-runners, lots of comment, pros and cons. Complains is also different from suggestion sa mga nabasa ko. Ako my little SUGGESTION to ease some comments. Bib # sa 3K, 5K, and 10K should be in different color para madaling marecognize kung saan event ka tumatakbo. At yun naman mga sign sa turning point dapat very visible din sa mga runners to avoid confusion, yun lang. But the run is good, kasi tumakbo tayong lahat dito for one purpose, yun makaTULONG sa construction ng chapel sa BASECO compound and THANKS to everybody na nag join kasi nakatulong tayo. God Bless, kita tayo uli sa next run.

  23. photographer lng pla hanap nyo..madami s mall photo booth – also, fun run or run for a cause po eto. let us not expect to much as if it is really a race (may full disclosure dn ang mission run “self-timing” – it’s obviously suggesting to the runners na “isarili n lang kung ano man ma-achieve”..why not participate sa true race tlga???????
