Count me in! Was in LUUM 2 for my first ultra, and I sure can’t afford to miss this one at ang mga susunod pa. La Union, I’m coming back to conquer ya once again! :)

CrackerJack its awesome to know that you are going back to LA UNION and prove your “superunnerability” once again!

I was one of the finishers of the 50K Ultra last year and that was my debut 50K Ultra. As promised, the difficulty of the route let out the “super runner” in me. If money and time permits, I will definitely join on this event once again.

Kung nasanay po kayo sa mga patakbo dito sa Manila. Don’t expect the same sa event na ito. Only water lang ang provided on every hydration station at walang ice. Yung provided na saging, ay saba at may hard boiled eggs din. Walang energy drink pero may provided na honey. Just make sure to bring flashlights or headlights kasi pag-akyat mo ng bundok, sobrang dilim talaga. I am a slow runner kaya nun papanik na ng Bacsil mag-isa lang ako. Lastly, just make sure to bring your hydration bottles kasi walang paper/plastic cups on each hydration station. I’m just stating these facts para wala po mga reklamo after ng takbo.

Suggestions lang po sana for the next race. Sana po may contigency plans, just like sa race results. Di ko nakita pangalan ko sa list of finishers dahil nagka-black-out. Sana man lang po, kahit sinulat na lang sa papel yung finish time namin.
Sana din po, wala na karagdagan na bayad tulad nun ngyari last year. The finishers need to pay extra 150 pesos for the finisher’s shirt. If may shuttle man galing ng Manila papunta ng La Union, sana masunod yung oras ng departure. Iwanan na lang yung wala pa sa bus station at the specified time. Wag na po maghintayan pa. Disiplina na lang sana at respeto ng mga runners sa mga kapwa ruuners. Gumising po kami ng maaga para lang makapunta ng bus station on time.
Lastly, dapat may mga signage/tarps sa mga critical U-turns and intersections. Kasi last time, maraming 42K runners ang naligaw sa rota ng 50K. Including the legendary Victor Ting.

Sobrang sulit and memorable ang experience ng event na ito. Subalit, I won’t recommend sa mga first time mag-marathon at ultra(maliban lang kung nakapag marathon ka na). Lalo na ngayon edition, straight na paakyat po yung sa botanical garden. Kahit ang mga elite and experienced runners, naglalakad na sa part na ito. Isip-isip po muna before magsign-up. Train more on the uphills and downhills. Isama nyo na heat training since late na yung gun start. For last year, 12/1am ata yun.

P1500 registration fee is for those early registrants by the way. The registration fee for LUUM3 is P1800 for the 50K category,thank you!

onlineexercise, 90% of the route is cement pavement and only 10% is trail and soil with lots of killer uphills, yes sa 42 and 50K nyo yan matitikman :)

REGARDING THE CANCELLATION OF CONDURA MARATHON: I admire the Organizers of CONDURA SKYWAY MARATHON for their decision to cancel the 2014 series of one of the biggest and most participated running event in the country, a noble reason indeed.
We all have our ways to share with the agony and pain of the victims, but for IRUNNERS life must go on, though our hearts feel for the victims of Yolanda.
Finishing a race is one tough task for every runner, much more with the sacrifice they devote in training.
For those runners who trained for CONDURA we know how hard it is for you… but we have to respect the decision of the Organizers, being an organizer myself, I feel for them too, its hard for us to disappoint our clients, our runners, who are the very reason of existence of our organization.
Though Condura is irreplaceable there are other running events that you might want try so that your months of training wont go to waste. If you want to run in non-polluted road, where the punishment of wicked uphills is much more than what you’ve seen and experience in Condura then LUUM3 is your option event. If you want to bring out the best in you or shall i say the “super runner” in you by breaking your threshold of pain and the limits of your endurance, then LUUM3 is your option event. If you want to prove that you can beat yourself with no one seeing you and only nature (trees and mountains) as your lone witness then you should try LUUM3.
We offer the most difficult FULL MARATHON (42Km category) in LUUM3, harder and 3times more difficult than Condura – this is just an option, an option that could possibly save you from your disappointment or even much more :)

I see in the registration that there is an option to ride shuttle bus from Manila. If I’ll be coming from Bulacan or Pampanga, is there a way that I can ride the shuttle too? May I know the ETD/ETA schedule of this shuttle bus?

Bulakenyo, there will only be one pick up point and is at Sta Lucia bus station in
Espana Manila in front of UST, the shuttle will leave Manila at exactly 6am of March 21, 2014 and will go back to Manila at exactly 5PM of March 22, 2014

And last year, maiden run ko sa 50K, di ko man lang nakuha yung “personalized bib” ko. Parang napabayaan ang ibang Baguio-based runners. BIB # ko is 500062 tapos binura na lang yung name na nakasulat sa likod nung BIB na para bang nabalewala ako as a maiden 50K runner. Kaya pag tinatanong ako bakit di ko name nakasulat at binura lang, sabi ko, di na-iprint ng organizer. I was an early registrant at nag-aim sa personalized BIB pero number lang ang nakasulat sa BIB ko. It was a very important event for me kasi maiden 50K run ko yun kaya as a maiden 50K runner, 5% bad rating dahil di natupad yung ibang mga naipangako, 95% naman yung good rating dahil it was a challenging run lalo dun sa papuntang Botanical Garden sa Bacsil and kasama sa 5% bad rating kasi pagdating ko ng finish line, parang hindi aware yung personnel kasi nagtanong ba naman sa akin kung kelan ako nag-register at isa ako sa mga early registrants tapos tinanong pa niya dun sa isang kasama niya kung bibigyan ng medal. Pati yung lei din wala na rin nung natapos ako na nilalagay sa mga maiden 50K runners. Yung route okay sya and challenging pero yung ibang personnel pagdating sa finish line, parang di alam yung gagawin. Yun lang.

Jeb sorry for your issues, things happen sometimes beyond our control. we have improved a lot that i can assure you, you can ask our participants in IBTUR 88 which is almost twice longer distance than LUUM.. now, being a pioneer of LUUM, you have the privilege of getting a discount of P300 this means that whenever you register you will only pay 1500 instead of 1800 sir, thank you and see you again (hopefully) here in La Union. Sir pahabol lang di po nagpabaya ang inyong lingkod sa Baguio Based runners, i love them all bec i am also a adapted child of Baguio dyan ako nagbinata at nag aral :)

Do you hace cut-off time for 21K? First time to run to LUUM. I know this will be a very hard 21K run for me. But I am very interested to join your event. I also hope matuloy iyong registration sa BGC or North Edsa sa February.

Larry, Kennon road and LUUM have their own distinct difficulty, the Kennon half Marathon is difficult bec from the start to the finish its 95% uphill, here in LUUM, it a combo of wicked uphill and down-hells as they say plus the wicked uphell trail and most of all, the fresh air and pristine route which you simply cant find in Kennon

Larry i think i should also add that the angle of uphill in LUUM is incomparabe to that of Kennon and you have to experience it by your self, thank you and hope to see you here in La Union :)

Hermes dito na sa la union ang release ng mga kit. Departure time ng shuttle ay 6am exact po yan. Yes you can bring your friends sa shuttle they will be charged the same shuttle fee naman walang problema :)

runnrwannabe yes we will post it on Wednesday next week we decided to postpone it bec some runners who are running for the prize simply use the list to determine the level or rooster of competition in the race and we dont want that to happen.

giantracer is only for the LUUM3 Pioneers.

LUUM3 runners pls read these important details for your run here in La Union:
1. Shuttle Service – to the runners who would like to be here in La Union between 1 to 2PM pls take Sta Lucia Bus line located at Espana in front of UST. The bus time of departure is 6:30 AM.
– if you have paid for you shuttle fee pls bring the depo slip and present it to us when you get here in La Union, when boarding the bus just tell the conductor that you are a runner of LUUM.
– in case you are haven’t paid the shuttle fee yet, you can still avail of the shuttle just tell the conductor that you a runner of LUUM, JUST PAY your shuttle fee to Mr Ian when you get here
– Shuttle fee is only P1000 forth and back to Manila

2. Claiming of race kits – when you get here in San Fernando La Union, go direct to the Provincial Capitol building, we are located beside the Old SP building. You can ride a tricycle from city plaza to Capitol just tell the driver to bring you to ‘Kapitolyo’ and pls pay only P20 if you are alone but if you have a company or a buddy pay onlyP10 per head. Pls bring with you your ID and deposit slip to claim your race kit.
– Race kit will be released starting 1PM
– In case you arrive here on Saturday pls look for us infront of the City Hall of San Fernando

3. Race briefing – briefing will be done on 3AM of Saturday (March 22, 2014).
