    • Fellow runners, friends, may good news po ang inyong lingkod with regards to the registration for BEACH AND PINE, first of all i want to thank Juan for making me realized that events such as the Beach and Pine and all Ultra events need not be that expensive and need not be extravagant in giving away souvenirs. Thus, i decided to lower the registration fee of Beach and Pine (BnP) from P3,000 to P2,200. The registration fee of P2,200 is inclusive of a trophy, a finisher shirt, a medal, certificate and post run meal. Plus, i will design a discount combo such as ‘early bird’ and group registration promo to further slash the registration fee of P2,200. So the registration fee could go as low as P1,900 to P2,000 we just have to re-calculate and study the expenses to come up with final rate for the promo. So for the time being the registration fee for the event is P2,200 and the P3,000 fee is no longer in effect. Thanks again Juan for this realization.

  2. Good day fellow runners! I pray and hope everyone is fine despite of the bad weather we area experiencing. Linawin po natin ang ilang bagay may kinalaman sa Beach and Pine or BnP for short.

    1. BnP is not your typical ultra because of the elevation that it offers; runners will be running from ‘0’ to 7000 feet above sea level, and that is simply difficult, more difficult than TNF or any other run i have known or organized in the country because the runners will be coming from lowland (where the oxygen is plenty) then he or she has to climb to a place where the oxygen is limited or very thin. We all know that oxygen plays a vital role in our performance as runners/athletes and the depletion of oxygen will certainly have dramatic effect on us – so pls for those who dares to conquer this almost-impossible challenge, train at your best because this event is certainly not for everybody.

    2. THERE WILL BE FOOD TO BE GIVEN TO RUNNERS IN THE FINISH LINE or Mount Cabuyao

    3. As i have committed i will give the best to my runners and part of this is not to spoil them, thus only 5 stations will be provided in BnP so that they can learn and adapt the ways of a true Ultra Runner. Rest assured that these 5 stations are strategically located along the route to properly attend to the needs of the participants.

    4. FOR THE REGISTRATION, to save precious resources only online registration will be available for this event, just click the Beach and Pine page in your facebook and look for the REGISTRATION link starting October 2013.

    5. I will be giving away wonderful TROPHY, MEDAL, FINISHER SCARF, FINISHER SHIRT, CERTIFICATE, A LEI AND RUNNERS MEAL

    6. AND DUE TO VERY WARM ACCEPTANCE OF THE EVENT, I WILL ACCEPT 200 PARTICIPANTS FOR THIS EVENT, AND THAT WILL BE THE ULTIMATE NUMBER THAT I AM GOING TO ENTERTAIN.

I dare every brave runners out there to run in BEACH AND PINE (BnP), lets start 2014 with a BANG, the new year is the best time to “transfrom”, time to run the difficult and the un-chartered path! The way to personal greatness begins when we challenge your selves, when we get out of our comfort zone, when we make the impossible possible and Beach and Pine will be your pedestal and platform :)

Till we meet in the finish line,

    Randy M. Abasolo
    Creature of IBTUR 88

  3. Juan with all due respect, so that you can have an idea where will the money for organizing an Ultra Marathon is spent pls open your mind and read or research on the following if you have doubts. Reminder lang po this is base on actual expenditures of an organizer with limited sponsorship like us: A trophy will cost between P650 to P1000 depends on size, a or one piece of shirt will cost bet P165 to P180 (two shirts will be given to runners), a medal will cost P175 to P200 depende sa design and size, a scarf will cost atleast P250, plus the cost for the certificate, bib, timing system which cost between P25K to P30K, runners meal at P120, prize of the winners which take the biggest pie of the registration fee , logistical expenses, manpower honararia or sweldo of the staffs, drivers, gasoline for support vehicles, ambulances, motorcycles, police cars, meals for the people/volunteers of approx 50 persons per meetingh for a 4 to 5 preparatory meetings, need not to mention (sana) ang sobrang puyat at pagod para po may mga event po tayo na masalihan… I hope that i am able to enlightened your mind and able to give you a wider perspective on the matter of charging fees and organization of events such as this one. Thank you :)

  4. @irunner Its your preroragative to ask for that ultra high fee since its your race & wala naman pumipilit sa atin na sumali. And also with due respect, lahat naman po siguro ng ultra runners aware ang mga nasabi ninyo and may idea how much really the expenses are of putting up race. And why give so much freebies? Ultra runners need not those freebies. A decent meal, finisher shirt & medal is enough and also to lessen the fee. Ok sana yung route but for me, pass ako dito. Just sharing my thoughts.

  5. Juan i totally respect your perspective, its the beauty of democracy isn’t it, we all have the freedom to say what we want to say and the only thing that serves as equilibrium in this free world must be RESPECT.
Again, i understand your point and i agree too that running need not be expensive, i actually practiced it in my two Ultra events, LUUM2 (P900 fee for a 50K Ultra) and IBTUR 88 (P1875 fee for an 88K Ultra) . However, we also have to accept that everything in this world evolves and changes, even the way events are conducted. Kailangan din ng mga organizers na mag innovate to compete with the other organizers. But most of all reasons, is this, i have high regard and value of my clients, i always want to give my runners the best mementos and souvenirs even if it means more cost. Because ultra challenges as difficult as Beach and Pine should provide the best and most memorable memento kase napakahirap na ruta nito at nararapat lang na only the best din na ala ala ang ating igagawad sa mga magtatapos ng karerang ito.

Juan just like you, i also wish that sana may malaki rin ako na sponsor para sa kanya ko i-charge ang karamihan sa gastos para kunti na lang ang babayaran ng runners o clients ko, ayaw ko na rin mag-abono sir kase wala naman po tayong pagkukunan, at nakakahiya narin po na puro volunteer nalang ang kasama sa event para lang malibre ang serbisyo ng mga tao. Though i am still hopeful that before the event comes that a big sponsor comes so that we can slash portion of the fee, makakaasa po kayo dyan kung sakali man na may darating na Angel-Sponsor sa Beach and Pine.
