..no more Finisher’s shirt this year unlike last year? Finisher’s shirt (especially the quality ones) is something one can be proud of in joining extreme events like this. I even prefer it (Finisher’s shirt) over Finisher’s medal (w/c is just being kept @ home) & the singlet (where some of us have our own preferred running shirt). Pls include the Merrell shirt as priviledge of every finisher.

Last year was awesome! I hope there will be shuttle bus transpo option again,,,

late ang posting nito…last week pa ako nakaregister dito….awaiting for the race kit distribution.

yeah. a finishers medal for all will be good. if not at least first 100 man lang. this is a hard run. I’ve been to pintong bukawe on a mountain bike trail run it is not easy. now kung may finisher’s shirt mas magaling. go merrell!!! I have 3 merrell shoes and I hope to wear both finishers medal and shirt with it…

@Pip #8. Just because medals are kept at home it doesn’t mean you can’t be proud of them. You can have it placed in a special case which can be seen and admired by every visitor to your home. Shirts? Well, they fade after several washings.

To experienced trail runners: Is it ok to participate in the 21K if it’s my first trail run? I have done a number of 21K road races but no trail run experience. Also, do I need to wear trail running shoes for this one? Your comments/advise/opinions are very much appreciated. Thanks.

Too bad they won’t be giving away Finishers’ Shirt. Last year I joined the 21K & got the finishers’ shirt pero ang problem lang ay yung Shuttle bus which were supposed to leave Market Market at around 4:30AM. But what happened was the bus left the meeting place past 5:00 AM kaya lahat kami super late.. Matagal nang nag gun start ang 21K kaya humabol na lang kami at halos kasabay na namin nag start ang mga 10K runners. What an experience.. Anyway, I just hope the shuttle bus will follow the time schedule.. Happy Running guys!!

@SBS_SoloRunner better if ull wear trail shoes sir. baka matualad last year maputik, but summer nmn, sguro d nmn maputik ang route :)

to the organizer, when I registered outside Manila, the sales executive told me that shuttle van service exclusive for Market2x and Trinoma registrants, what about us? where can we pay to avail the services? please advise

First ever trail run.sana may finishers medal nalang lahat ng runners. 5k lang naman sasalihan ko. Para umabot sa finishline ng buhay.haha excited nako. Organizer finishers medal please. Remembrance and token lng para sa mga baguhang tulad ko. :)

After Merrel trail run april 27 NatGeo Run naman April 28. Pero last yr one of the worst run ang NatGeo.

I run 10K often but is this 10K much much harder?? Are we allowed to wear our own shirt or do we have to wear the singlet provided?

I own/drive a 22+ Seater Toyota Coaster. Would I be allowed to use my vehicle to provide transport for other people wanting to attend the event for a reasonable fee? Is there a demand/need for transport coming to the event if the pick-up was from MASINAG/SUMULONG/MARCOS HWY intersection area? 0919 450 6438.

Yes Top50 lang tlga meron sa 5k and 10k.. kaya nga sana mpagbigyan ng organizers na meron lahat ng runners na mkktpos ng run. Para narin sa mga tulad naming bago palang sa gnitong klase ng event. :)

BARAKO RUNNERS: Hi Guys just some few question..we’re planning to register this week for 21K in Market Market, What I want to know is when we register we just tell the personnel that we’re going to avail the shuttle as well?? or is there another process for that??

I have some clips from 2012 MAR. I can say madaming nahilig sa trail-run after ma experience nila ito sa Merrell. Clips from Merrell start at 2:00 may kasama kasi ibang runs yung video namin.

Also, it is recommendable to use “Trail-running” shoes ma sisira lang road shoes nyo dito. If VibramFiveFingers naman ang trip nyo make sure Trail type gamitin nyo like Komodo and KSO trail.

I will do the 21k again but please no more second loops unless you can be sure that the terrain will not be wet and muddy….last year was a mess….by the 2nd loop, we could barely run because the soil was so wet and eroded from too many runners using the route in the 1st loop.

Not sure I understand the registration process properly. Does it take two visits to the same merrell shop, one in March one in April to get a race number? I’m not bothered about, shirts, vests, medals etc.

If your from Antipolo or near that area and would be commuting, meron pong jeep na Pintong Bukawe ang route, i can’t verify kung 24hrs ba ang pasada nila, will ask pagbalik namin sa Camp Sinai

My personal advice to those who wants to try trail-runs (first-timers) is to start gradually since this is significantly different from road-ruining. in terms of: track, equipment (hydration system), locations, logistics (Water stations), some rules and methods in running, etc..

You may start at a shorter distance (5k-10k) to just have a taste of it and get to know if you would like it or not. So if find yourself not enjoying it, at least you could still finish the run and not prolong your agony. But most-likely you will love it. Maraming na in-love sa trail-runs because of MAR. :)

Also, it would be safer to inexperienced trail-runners to run a shorter distance since injuries are more prone to happen, specially if the trail would require some technical skills like MAR and TNF100. But you would still be able to get the drift on a shorter track, then perhaps elevate your distance on your next trail-run and so on. Ito yung assessment stage.

If you can afford to acquire trail-shoes, please do. Sisirain lang trail yung road shoes mo at pahihirapan ka pa sa pag takbo. There are some inexpensive brands that you can start with.

d q agad napansin, its camp sinai now, and not in Timberland Heights no more, but still in San Mateo, Rizal. The latter really gave me a beating, extreme challenge: the mud, the rain, and the steep slopy terrain. Im hoping the new venue would, if not surpass, would at least retain the challenges I am expecting (or shud i say, WE are expecting).
