Yakult Phils., Inc., announced the staging of the country’s pioneer and premier 10 mile race, the Yakult 10 MILER on March 17, 2013. Now on its 24th year, the event which will be held at the Cultural Center Complex grounds in Pasay City, is the longest running 16K race in the country.

It’s the same date as Run United I. Will we see a repeat of last year where the organizers relented to public clamor and rescheduled the race?

as per unilab 2013 calendar, RU1 is scheduled on the 24th of march 2013… so hindi conflict ang date nla…

sasabayan kita dyan pero malamang sa RU ako kasi gusto ko mabuo yung trilogy (RU1,2, RUPM) nila… hehe sabayan mo na din ng ipon pangregister kasi tyak madugo na fee next year.

I move ang date march 24 na, para registrant will have the time both event, for sure naman parehong maganda ang event at sasalohan ng mga avid runner both run event. Move na please :)
never tried joining in yakult fun run, though i would love to.. sana nmn di mgsabay sabay ang sked ng mga runs, specially those popular runs.. heres the scenario, if ever makasabay ito nung sa RU1 (which ang alam ko is namove na on 24th of march), most runners will choose RU1 mainly becuase they want to complete the trilogy, another, may napatunayan n din nmn kc ung RU1 sa mga runs nila specially how organized (though may mga down moments). (just wondering though, did the organizers of each run talk with each other regarding their schedule, like personally talk?)
okay to join this event no frills ito- straightforward for serious runners- iyon run united is too expensive what’s so good about the triology anyway?

Registration will run until March 13. There will be finisher singlet for all finishers 3K, 5K and 16K. Still working on finisher medal for 16K finishers.

To Yakult Organizers:
2 bagay lang ang kanilang pwedeng gawin para marami sumali sa event na ito. I’m sure kung Yakult at Run United ang pagpipilian, majority sa Run United. Sana iconsider nyo to para sa amin kasi gusto din naman naming mga runners na maging successful ang event na ito.
1. Medals- dagdagan nyo ng medalya hindi lang finisher shirts. Maraming nagsasabi na di daw maganda quality ng shirts nyo. Sana gandahan nyo naman. Kahit sa 16k lang may medal.
2. Resched. Kung di nyo magagawa ang first option, this is the last resort. Marami mahahatak ang Run United. Organized ang takbo, maganda giveaways,madaming booths. May photobooth pa! Kahit ang walang perang runner hindi magdadalawang isip na sumali sa RU. Ang Yakult may pangalan, kasabay kayo ng MILO pagdating sa running events, Pero pagdating sa giveaways at entertainment,RU.

The Yakult 10-Miler is the second oldest road race still in existence in the Philippines after the MILO Marathon. It is already an institution owing to its durability and history of producing champions.
Its Race Director, Mr. Rudy Biscocho, has been into road racing long before some of today’s upstart organizers were even born.

i will run sa rununited but gusto ko din tumakbo sa yakult..with respect sa yakult, every runner should join this because it is already an institution when it comes to marathon…hope na may lumipat ng sched it’s either yakult or rununited….

Respect each other runners, this is not a contest of “one upmanship”. Different events have their own unique vibe.
Just a salute to Mr. Biscocho, my grandfather used to run with him back in the day. There was the Band Aid run (now no more) and the Milo Marathon. They bring back warm fond memories for me – early morning, lolo would double-knot my laces to avoid tripping over them during the run. Pan de sal stop before going to the venue at picc, he would break a branch from our yard for warding off the dogs in our neighborhood as we started out, and i would wait for him at the top of the folk arts theater driveway until he finished his long run (i would just run up and down folk arts) . Sana I could be the same warm memory to my son as he grows up.

It’s just a simple request…maybe ayaw nilang tapatan yung OFW Run kasi kay Vice daw yun ,alam ko ang RU March 24 talaga then nag March 17, sinabayan ang yakult, come to think of it, walang kasabay ang OFW RUN sa date na ito, and maybe someone requested that RU ang mag-resched kaya nagkasabay sila ng Yakult which si Yakult talga ang nauna..Marami din kasi gustong tumakbo .
Meaning na-politika kaya? I hope not. So untouchable na yung Mar 24 date kasi OFW run? Dami katanungan no…takbo na lang tayo sa kalsada wag sa pulitika.

oo nga po wag na po kayo masyado demanding, remember may beneficiary yung run kaya ginagawa ng mga organizers ang makatipid para most of the payments mapunta sa charity. mas masarap isipin nakatulong sa iba kaysa sa sarili.
