Disorganized po yung claiming of finisher’s kit, daig pa po yung mga runs na may finisher’s shirt na kukuha pa ng sizes atbp.
it was a good run . hydrationstations are a bit far from each other . i think it’s around 2kms per. medal is awesome. lootbag contents , as expected , are not
plenty. by the way, did you guy who suffered a cardiac arrest lived ? i saw a lot of runners and marshalls carrying him like he is gone already..
I have a good run. Ok yung libreng photo booth. I was at the end of the hydration and about to throw the plastic cup into the boxes provided by the organizer ( I was about a foot from the boxes) and out of nowhere this guy squeezed himself and swatted my arms. Tsk tsk di ginamit ang pinagkatandaan.
sobrang saya!!!!! wala akong masabing panget sa run na to! next year ulit! ^_^
Congrats to all the finishers!!!
It was a great run… Sana yung isang runner Ng 16.8K ok Na siya… Nakita ko nlang nakahiga at may dugo Sa ulo at tinutulungan Ng ibang runner din.. Sa mga tumulong good job…
Pros:
hydration stations are plenty
more than 1 banana station
moral supporters
some of the hydration stations are too far from each other
parang walang portalet malapit sa starting area o sa activity area?
congrats… next year ulit..very organized..minus the loot bag claiming
anyway congrats sating lahat.
I’m using Nike+ Running on my iPhone4 and and it gave me 18.80Km, and worse is that i’ve also asked others along the way and yes they said that it’s more than 16.8Km. It’s really unfair like the lootbag is not equal to the effort all of us exerted more than what we’re meant to run
thank you for he experience adidas! :)
The race was alright but i guess the marshalls are not enough to cover the area. And i was expecting to have a bunch of adidas toiletries and stuff but it was only a deo and some vitamins. Sa stub kasi mukang madami kang makukuhang perfume hehehe. But i really enjoyed the race. Congrats to everyone
I hope the guy with blood that collapse along sen gil puyat is okay
overall its really a nice run. my 1st 16.8k run
For me this is one of the best races so far!
Same here, 17.5km with my soleus
My soleus measured 10.33k. Napansin ko difference sa 9k marker, had to adjust, but didnt quite make it under 1hr. Finished it 1:03. Nevertheless, enjoyed my first 10k.
ung claiming lang ng finisher’s kit nagkaproblema but otherwise it was a good event! oo nga, I hope the guy who collapsed malapit sa u-turn @ buendia is OK..
Overall, the race was really good. It’s a really good 1st time for me, anyway
A decent event ….. Until you crossed the finish line.
– registration was ok.
– Singlet is very nice.
– race start was almost on time
– route was fine and adequate marshals & hydration
The problems started after getting your medal:
– loot bag lines were not well organized
– items in loot bag were just ok … Nothing special
– and the biggest mess was awards presentation:
– 3 1/2 hours to award the top 30 places in the open division. That is about 3x the time it took to run it! Most people just left without waiting.
I don’t understand why good companies like Adidas jeopardize their brand name and key events they sponsor by using an organizer of questionable capability. Makes no sense.
For me, An event starts with registration and ends with the post-race activities. It’s important to get it all to an acceptable level. This event failed miserably in the post-race activity.
cons- late guntime,
– madaming freebies
-maganda yung singlet
– andun si Jollibee nag che-cheer at yung ibang organizers nakakatuwa
congratulations to all finishers…well organized event….plenty of hydration stations…with matching banana…join again next year…with celebrity….will de vaughn, karyll, donita rose, robby domingo and others, just wondering lang…abs cbn artists should support the fun run for ilog pasig….well that’s their decisions…anyways enjoy pa rin….
yes the distance was different from the category, i got a 17.6km reading.
but all in all it was a good event…kudos to runrio! next year ulit!
Proactive ang organizer bro. Hehe.
to tell you honeslty guys….i enjoyed the run itself, but the way they have organized the run and everything, i have to be straight forward; i don’t like it, coz it’s boring, let me start first with the run proper, i don’t now what went wrong, i’m thinking is it because the road is narrow for the number of runners who joined, because it’s too crowded, or it is just because there are a lot of runners who joined; but i doubt. secondly after finishing the race, good thing i finished early but if not good luck on the queue in claiming your kit…i really don’t know how to expalin how i felt before and after the race.. it seems that there’s no warmth, walang enthusiasm, wala ung excitement, walang ung urgghh factor that i’m looking for…and one more thing ung mga stall bakit ganun, layo layo, ung banana na supposedly is near the finish line is located at the corner, isolated pa..parang kinawawa…heheh, sa mag freebies kahit wala na from the sponsors kasi sulit na ako dun sa binigay nung racekit pa lang..hehe but anyhow that’s how that’s how you guys organized it. it’s fine…sana lang next year pag join ko ulit masaya na….thank you for the experience though..!! good luck!!
one of my best runs so far. despite all the pain and obstacles I have today, like the hamstring & quads soreness from yesterday’s Immuvit leg 2, I still managed to run and finish strong and probably beating my PR.
though my gps tracker showed 17.23 km, either way, it was a good run. I hope next year they’ll have a 21k category
I agree with Dano, finishers already pile-up during claiming of loot bag napaka bagal , nakakabad trip nga lang na hindi prepared yung mga tao dun. There’s a lot of time to prepare pero dun plang sila naglalagay ng items.
Pero OK naman, your grade is 95% OK.
I Like the KM Markers… Hydration Stations are a bit chaotic and trash bins are small…. I Like the Medal and the Cheer Squad! Gun Time was delayed but overall I enjoyed this run… Hope it will be better next year! Parang kunti laman ng Finishers Kit puro gamot hehe….Oh the photo booth was pretty cool! Congrats to all!
parang mas feel ko last year yung adidas KOTR. parusa nga yung post race event. sobrang kawawa 16.8K runners. halos isang oras pumila para lang makuha loot bag na may tubig at 100 na hindi malamig.
more pics please :), parang sobra nga sa 16.8k ang route
Didn’t experience any major shortcomings. Got my lootbag without a hitch. Nasuwertehan lang at walang nakapila. Got new PR as well (sub-60 @ 10k, I think).
Got my PF tech shirt, finally! Thanks, PF! Huwag kayo magtaka kung kulang inventory niyo; may nakita ako construction worker nakasuot ng spankin’ brand-new PF white running singlet while taking breakfast after the event. ;)

@dano – tama lahat ng sinabi mo especially sa singlet (very nice) and yung post race activities
The run was fun and memorable, kasi that was the first time na tumakbo ng 10K yung gf ko (her most is 5K), kaya struggle pag run/takbo….sabi nya mauna na daw ako kasi alam nya na competitive talaga ako pag dating sa fun run, sabi ko naman I’m having fun and i wont leave her kasi pangarap kong sabay kaming matapos sa race…buti na lang at maganda yung medal kasi yun yung nagbigay ng second wave of energy nya
Overall, the experience was great! Ü
@ aA – yes prang sobra sa 16.8K base sa gps tracker ko. i dnt know if tehre’s something wrong with my RunKeeper app kc it registered 20K.. sobra nman yta laki ng discrepancy, bka nga sa tracker ko lng… anyone who tracked also their run?
16.95 km was registered on my motoactv
Great run! Sulit ang bayad. I had fun, so next time uli…. ^__^
Overall it was a good run…I finished the 16.8km with an ankle sprain i got right after i surrendered my stuff at the baggage counter. I dunno how i finished it but i did somewhere between 1:59 and 2:01 ….so that’s a first for me…
I just had to say two things…..yung line sa finisher’s tent was like playing snakes and ladders….andaming nagladder (sumingit…) did not expect that from Adidas….and lastly ang haba ng pinila ko sa adidas bodycare kasi nga may stub ako at hindi naman ako inabisuhan o kinuha sa finishers tent….ang haba ng pinila ko only to find out na pabubunutin pala ako hoping to get a prize….I got a thank you…..
Other than that, ok naman yung ibang aspects nung race
where and when can i see the result of this run??need ko lang para sa company namen….thanks….it was fun being with this marathon…….
@ianRUN Race results now available!

Ran straight 17.5km this morning at 1hr 40mins.
It was a good run. Sad to say that I left with some injuries (my fault I suppose, di kasi nag-practice ng todo :P ) Anyway, haba ng pila dun sa pag-claim ng finisher’s kit at lalo pa nakakatawa un dun sa bodycare kasi may mga “thank you pa”, sana di na lang ganun kasi haba ng pila tas ganun lang makukuha mo. Kakabadtrip naman un diba? I got my PF shift too :)
A short review and commentary.

Vibrant, lively, well attended run. Ang daming photographers and I’m starting to get dizzy sa pag hahanap ng pics ko. Nandito yata lahat ng photographers sa running community kaya walang coverage yung Pasig run.
Also, congratulations to Eduardo “Vertek” Buenavista 2012 KOTR! PH This guy is indeed one of the country’s best and should been given a ton of support and recognition from the community.
To Proactive, sna nag check kau kung pnu gngwa ni RunRio un Rexona Run when it comes to deposit of baggage and distribution of race kits and also for teh booths and hydration station. Next time proactive eh i bench mark nyo un Rio events.
using my garmin it registered at 17.15km. d bale ng sobra wa lang kulang hehe
so hindi accurate ang time for 16.8k? :)
Yes it was 18.8Km based on the nike+running app
I got 18.5 km from my iphone apps and in my previous run, the difference from my iphone apps is usually +.3 km.
Also, the loot bag claiming was a disaster. The loot bag is just so-so.
But overall, I enjoyed the actual run because of the weather. Not too hot and not pouring rain. I expected more from proactive though…this is probably their first event that wasn’t very well organized.
My RunKeeper registered 17.20Km and I thought it’s the one that has gone haywire. In a race, I can live with no cheering squad or sometimes insufficient hydration points or marshals or even long queue for goodie bags, but inaccurate distance.. kind of unacceptable for runners like myself who are always striving to achieve PR every time.
ah ok.. so it looks like it’s a 18k run :)
The race over-all was really good and organized. Sana lang naisip ng ibang runners na yung activities sa booth lalo na if pick-a-prize is by chance talaga at hindi lahat mananalo…first time lahat ng runners merong roll-on o bodyspray sa finisher’s kit aside from the sample products lang tapos may additional chances of winning pa sa adidas body care booth thru the pick-a-prize…
kudos sa adidas Philippines for a nice event!!
ok yung cheering squad nila for a twist.. d lahat ng race eh me ganyan.. super like :)
that was a great run…
para po sa organizer, alam po natin na kapag walang susundang linya o pila ang mga tao definitely they’ll try to be the first on the line…
It was the one of the best runs I ever had. I dont mind the long wait in getting the race kit. So many water stations, portalets are available along the race route, they gave out bananas during the race, so many photobooths, etc… I really enjoyed the run and most of all, I got a medal for my first 10k run in Bgc… it worth everything….. Congratulations to all and see u next year…..
@ck and @rodeo usually sir d accurate ang iphne apps. i also used it before. unless icacalibrate. now im using garmin palaging tama ang mga km reading nya. tnx tnx sir.
It was my first run after 6 months but my 3rd Adidas KOTR and the 1st in the 16.8K as they took out the 21K category. My Soleus watch registered at 17.5K, which is fine. I hope to go for my 4th KOTR next year but they the race should be more organized next year.
one of the best runs pa rin naman.
congrats to all finisher……see you next year
It was indeed an experience. I traveled 281 miles just for this and was able to do something worthwhile a day after my birthday. I considered this as a gift to my self. Thank you so much.. till next year

A well attended run, let down by some poor organisation that was amateurish compared to comparable sized events (e.g. run united series).
A 3+ hr presentation – farcical. Two of the main winners in the female open category had left before presentation, along with most of the crowd. The organisers gave up & closed the presentation before announcing places 6-30 in the open mens. Repeated promises of 10 mins more turned into an hour.
Hydration stations were frequent but it was impossible to get a drink out of the plastic cups. Very few bins resulted in plastic cups littered along the running path.
loot bag – see comments above.
On the positive, the on course support was appreciated.
Points to ponder:
Raves:
-Registration was organized, attendants are very knowledgeable and they tell you things you need to know.
-The race singlet is good, pop and neon were at war! :)
-tents and areas are well organized.
-plenty of race marshals
-there were 3 Banana stations
Rants:
-we can let the 10 mins delay of the 16.8k gunstart go.
-we can let the distance of the first hydration station from the starting line, go.
-we can let the unavailable distance marker (which were brought down and thrown to the side in Kalayaan flyover because they were incorrect and some of them swapped- you’ll see 8KM before the 7KM marker) go.
– we can let the so-so contents of finisher’s kit go.
-we can let the irrelevant celebrity interview (why do you ask something about finding love and or flirting while on the race route? least to say, it was so inappropriate and cheap!) go.
-we(non-winners) can let the time of announcement of other winners go.
-The most important of all which we can never let past us is the availability of MEDIC/s.
The guy who collapsed and i think was unconscious already was just 10 meters away from a water and take note A MEDIC station with a huge sign (cross) and the word “MEDIC”. Runners were already calling out to help the guy and one marshal replied, “sandali lang po”.
But no one was moving towards the guy except for one of the run supporters in white who was carrying mist sprayer to show that someone was actually acting.
This is a MAJOR FAILURE!
Minor details, we can understand, but a matter and life and death?
oh no Proactive you didn’t!
sakto 16.8km sa garnin ko. hope there was nothing serious to the runner who collapsed. water Lang libre sana may free energy drink din sa susunod. may booth yun 100plus ok Lang may bayad kaso Hindi malamig. walang garbage bag, as usual Kung Saan Saan Lang tinatapon Ng runners yun plastic cup. medic is very important lalo na sa mga 16.8km category. no matter how fit you never know if your gonna collapse or not.
pre race was well organized
race day was above average
pakiramdam ko since tapos na yun race they don’t care anymore
addidas try nyo next year hypersports!
sablay KOTR ah..as per reading
Lot better than the painful 32k….weather that is. On the 10K, my nike+ had it at ~12K by GPS, but good run nonetheless. Looking forward to the next one:)
My Soleus registered a 17.7km run. From 16.9 – around 18+km, medyo malaki ata discrepancies natin :) Napasabak talaga ako sa run na to – haven’t been training so I was struggling to finish.
The route was fine, and the hydration too. I especially liked the cheerers/supporters at designated place – nakaka enganyo talaga. But they were right before the water stations so had to slow down again (after being cheered on) just to get water :P Also liked the volunteers spraying cold water at the runners, very refreshing :)
wala naba ibang picture??????????? ung magtime ng 1:20 below sa 16.8k?????
garmin fr305 16.91Km
OKAY – singlet, banana, hydration, marshall;
NOT OKAY – emcees (lady said most awaited marathon daw – what??????), gun time was not followed (emcees were just babbling nonsensically!), AND distribution of finishers kit (whatta mess!!!!)
SUGGESTION – change event host management (very poor!)
2nd time sa KOTR and very happy. With a new personal best. All in all, well organized for me.

The best yung free hotdog sa huli! LOL just kidding! Okay naman! I just didnt like the “thank you” note dun sa adidas bodycare na pilang mahaba! Worth it naman yung race! :)
Nice observation Karen. I am one of those in the cheering squad and it didn’t appear to me that such placement of the cheering area right before the hydration table is counter to its purpose! Thanks for this insight.
great addition to this year was the cheerers. Kudos again to the organizer and can’t wait for the next aNR season!
https://www.facebook.com/AyalaTriads
I think the distance was ok. I had it at 16.89 km as per timex run trainer. But my wife had it at 19 km on her runkeeper (we ran together). Upon reviewing her map data, there is an area along Buendia where gps tracking became erratic. I also noticed this before in previous runs (sometimes it’s ok, sometimes not). GPS signal in that area a bit weak.
it was a good run after all :)
sana next time mas “proactive” na yung mga medic na ilalagay… nakakaawa yung isang runner na bumulagta na lang along buendia ave :( hope he is doing good now… yung mga runners na unang nakakita sa kanya kudos sa inyo…
didn’t know where to claim my bodycare kit hehehe umuwi na lang ako with the finisher’s kit lang na pagkahaba haba ng pila 16.8K din ang pila arrgh!!!
CONGRATULATIONS sa lahat ng tumakbo see you in other events
I was quite disappointed with how the run was handled.
First, poor traffic management – both for vehicles and runners. When 10k and 5k converged at University Ave., the volume of people just stopped momentum. And this is not just because of those who suddenly stops without signaling (>.<), but the proportionality of the road width with the volume just wasn't properly thought of. Kawawa yung mga pabalik na na 10k e, talagang sa sobrang gilid na lang sila and had to zigzag their way through oncoming runner traffic. And why was the gap between the 10k and 5k too short unlike with the 30 minute difference between the 16k and the 10k. Ideally, runner convergence should occur near the finish line which is wider (taking up all 4 lanes) and not at kilometer 2 pa lang.
The worse thing was that they allowed vehicles to pass pa… both ways (coming in and out of bgc center). Delikado sa mga runners yun (especially those with headphones). It's ok that vehicle traffic would be crossing the runners path but to be parallel especially from behind (I'm talking about that point near S & R). Sad to say, maraming mga g*gong driver who'd probably feel that enough of their time has been wasted already and would seem to be more than willing to side sweep runners (I've seen this a couple of times na nga e, not just this run). It's not safe for us runners at all.
Suggestion lang na sana organizer also take into account vehicle traffic when planning for the race route. They should be able to cut off vehicles at least a block or two and so they can still have the option of taking an alternate route. Iwas pa yan sa napakaingay na pambubusina (which in other countries is tantamount to cursing, mind you). Again, vehicles crossing the runners path is okay, but having them run parallel should be a big no-no.
Second, there were adequate marshalls alright but adequate is not equal to strategically placed. Dapat all intersection, converging points, and two way runner path should have more marshalls compared to turning points. No. of marshalls should be proportionate to the no. of expected runners in a predetermined point.
I know how daunting it is to plan and execute a run event even without being one. I appreciate naman all their efforts. Eto naman e just a point of view and hoping it would contribute to the betterment of run events. =)
And yet they claim the response time of their Emergency Response Team to aid the Runner at Buendia was FAST. LOL
wth! im listed as a male runner. grrrrrr
Took some photos after my run with a digicam. Feel free to tag & share. Congrats everyone! =)

Recap ba?
REGISTRATION: Good. online registration is not well balance, kasi kawawa yung mga naunang nagpareg kahit sabihin nating may sure slot n sila, their excitement went down kasi matagal yung delivery ng kit nila which is unfair. im not an online registrant but unfair when i reg. i got my singlet after a week just drop by at adidas and yun nakuha ko na. some of the online reg nawala yung excitement nila dahil wala matagal nga yung race kit nila. 7/10
During race. Masaya yung race. start to finish. I enjoyed the race. dami ng Carbo station even I, refused to accept bananas at the last booth busog n ako at ang daming supply. medyo hilaw ng banana but it well feed kami sa dami ng supply.
Hydration booth are so fun especially competition booth. hope that this will be held on other runs also. it gives moral and strength to all tired runners. kakatuwa kakatangal ng pagod. even Jolibee joined the fun. Is he a sponsor also? :P
photographers salamat sa inyo gives something to remember. may nagsabi na namimili kayo ng kukuhaan, ill defend you, its your choice who to take photos of tired people, its an art to take photo kaya dapat maganda ;) 10/10
Post Race:
medals are given immediately pero mas ok kung mag taga sabit ng medal nakabalot pa nung binigay sakin. waang marshal sa loot bags. yah, we know kulang tao nyo but we paid for everything even sa kaayusan ng loot tents nyo. sorry doon kayo bagsak. 5/10
Overall:
its a good race, enjoyed it much. 7/10 good job.
My Challenge: I hope that event organizers will put on their thinking hats, mas mahal n ang binabayad namin sa inyo at mas maayos n dapat ang system nyo. dahil mas maarte na kaming mga runners, :) well, that being said, i dont care kung mahal ang binayad ko kung for a cause man yan or just for gain. as long as my basic needs are meet. good route, hydration, carbo (if needed) and yung mga pinangako nyo during yun promotions.
to all runners: run, slow or fast, be safe, and up-grade.
very well said Bro Roy! pde kn tlga blogger. pregister kn din s RUPM at sna mas maramin tau dun pra mas masaya! :)
It was a great fun run. Very organized, i pray all run that il join is as good as this. The only glitch i have observed is the loot bag distribution, i was wondering kung next time isabay na lang sa medal para wala pila.
But overall, it was a succcessfully organized event, kudos to the organizer!
Awesome Race! Awesome Weather!
Unfortunate that a runner had an accident. Which should tell everyone that we should be very careful at all times( whether training or actual race )
Regarding Lootbags, Loot nga eh, means its free, not part of what we pay for. Other people feeling nila its their right to have tons of loot. If madami great if konti ok lang. You joined a Fun Run not a Looting Event. Tsk tsk tsk.
Great post run event also.
hello, im a friend of the guy who collapsed during the run, i wasn’t with him during the run though. if anyone has details as to how he collapsed, and what the medics did, and more importantly, DID not do, pls inform me!
ay! may result na nga ang Adidas King of the Road (KOTR) 2012 pero bakit nung search ko bib number/ last name ko ” Bib Number Not Found .” bakit kaya? how did it? kalungkot naman yata jun. hay:(
aw wala akong picture sa proactive at sa mga photographers.. ang sabi ng proactive “Sorry, you ran too fast. Our cameras didn’t catch you.” hahaha
Ms Reina Daza (and to OTHERS)
Pls text me your bib number and full name at 09278756671
Will update the system
Sorry and thank you po
claiming of loot bag sucks!!! i was in line for about an hour before i got mine and the items are no longer complete. one of the guys in the line got a leg cramp. probably due to standing too long after the run. and about the body care item, do we have to get in line for another hour just to draw a “thank you” from the bowl? it was supposed to be a freebie, right?
Fantastic, Great Race, Lots of stars, lots of booths, well organize. For those people looking for a fun day, beginner, or even veterans don’t miss any Adidas KOTR day.Even Jollibee was there to grace the event Some problem regarding the traffic and the paper bag and that poor kiosk at the corner, but overall comparing with all the other races I have joined which I felt was more business like-I give it a 9 over 10 (9/10). Why?. The organizers promised more surprises next year, maybe a mini carnival, with a ferries wheel or something, a kid playground-Maybe, I could not imaging what that surprise will be. The race result with all the stat just blew my mind. Folks and even kids don’t 4 get this event, join-up you won’t regret it.By the way 9/10 was the highest rating I have given.Just Amazing.
Ganun talaga pag wala masyado experience ang organizer. PROACTIVE? Ano ba na gawa nitong races? 1-2 lang ba? NEVER HEARD kasi.
Wala sa results 2 officemates ko. Very Frustrating!
Negatives:
