After Tour 700, the Philippines’ biggest bike race event held at the SCTEX last May 13, 2012, 7-Eleven now celebrates the opening of its 800th store with RUN 800 on August 26, 2012 at the Aseana City in Paranaque.

Runners joining the 10k, 15k or 21k half marathon will enjoy this new closed-circuit race course set along the coastal road – CAVITEX. Those joining in the 3k and 5k categories can look forward to an organized race course along Macapagal Ave. This is made possible with 7-Eleven’s system of allowing SELF-SELECTED WAVE STARTS, enabling them to run with people with the same skill or speed (or with friends!). To make this run more exciting, the top 3 per age category will receive medals. Top 3 Filipino males and females in the 21k will be sponsored to join the Macau International Marathon on December 2012.

To complete registration, runners can pay reg fees at the 7-Eleven a nearest them. Take note of the 7-Connect number and pay at any 7-Eleven store within 24 hours. Race Kits can be claimed on the date indicated on the receipt, and from the same store where payment has been made.

“To complete registration, runners can pay reg fees at the 7-Eleven a nearest them. Take note of the 7-Connect number and pay at any 7-Eleven store within 24 hours. Race Kits can be claimed on the date indicated on the receipt, and from the same store where payment has been made.”

  11. Hello PF,. please tell them to post the Singlet design, Finisher’s Shirt (is this for all)?
    Thank you so much! :)

  12. Wow! check the race map, is this the first time? Aseana City to Coastal Road (all the way to Cavitex for 21k). This would be tough, limited shade the entire race route.

New road, new challenge. Let’s do this!

(or anywhere eastside)hehehe. basta pag may run dito sa marikina at nagjoin din kayo, ako na bahala sa breakfast! hehehe :)

  15. Sasali ako dito! :)

New route, nice singlet design…even though mukhang walang medal, it still seems na promising ang event na ito. :)

-yung finisher’s shirt po ba e for all categories din????

  17. Runners joining the 10k, 15k or 21k half marathon will enjoy this new closed-circuit race course set along the coastal road – CAVITEX

“AT PARANG LAHAT NG CATEGORY MAY FINISHER SHIRT” MARAMING MAGEENJOY FOR SURE…

  18. Top 3 Filipino males and females in the 21k will be sponsored to join the Macau International Marathon on December 2012

yesssssssssssss sa wakas pinoy ang kukunin dito for macau di yung kenyan or ibang lahi na naman,,di ako nagdidiscriminate but pinoy deserve chance for their hard work lalo na yung talagang puspusan ang training,,kung sinu man yun hehehehe good luck

  19. In case no one noticed, nakalagay sa rules ng race ‘to:

“2.10 A runner may not use a personal music system, e.g. iPod, or a radio communication device, including a cellular phone, whilst running.”

Hindi man ako maaapektuhan ng rule na ‘to, pero bakit bawal?

  20. ill definitely run for this event…ganda ng singlet! the site looks good too…seems like 711 had prepared so much for this…= )

  21. @mango: di ko din maintindihan kung bakit, “2.10 A runner may not use a personal music system, e.g. iPod, or a radio communication device, including a cellular phone, whilst running.” apektado ako nito.

  22. @mango:

i believe music systems are prohibited for runners safety. but just like the milo sweepers this rule is not etched on stone and can be reconsidered. i do not think the marshals will stop runners wearing mp3 or ipods. ang bawal bandits kasi closed road ito kaya huli sila ora mismo.

  23. “2.10 A runner may not use a personal music system, e.g. iPod, or a radio communication device, including a cellular phone, while running.”

Sabi naman po ay “A runner MAY not use…” ibig sabihin, nasa discretion na ng runner kung gagamit siya o hindi ng personal music device.parang “A runner MAY or MAY NOT use…” kumbaga eh pwede siyang gumamit at pwede rin namang hindi…

ganun nga ba ang gustong iparating ng organizer? please advice. thank you.

  24. Ok ito ah, exclusive for Filipino runners lang hehehehe dapat lang kasi puro mga kenyan nalang ang nananalo pati sa mga pipitsuging patakbo pinapatos nila akalain mo yon???? tsk!tsk!tsk!tsk! ganyan na ba kahirap sa Kenya ngayun? no wonder if nandito na sila naghahanap patakbo hahahaha dapat iopen nalang natin na we are “hiring” runners around the planet hahahaha anyway sana totoo nga na open ito for Filipinos only hindi po ako “racist” sa takbuhan lang na dinomina nila for almost???? teka kelan ba natutong maghanapbuhay este hanap patakbo ang mga kenyan dito? hehehehe
Yes!!! talagang tatakbo ako dito sa 16Km category ako see you there everyone..para naman mas masaya mag group run tayo mga kapatid for info text lang po sa akin 09166440761…

  25. @dan: I think you’re right. The use of the word “may” is discretionary on the part of the runner whether or not to use a personal music system.

@Jacob: Then, be one of the top 3 finishers so you would have a medal… :)

  26. @dan & @Trunks, not to be “epal” or anything but the use of “MAY(not)” in this context refers to not being allowed. It has been a highly debated phrase but the sound grammatical form stands to one option in this case “NOT”:)
Which leads me to ranting WHY ON EARTH RUNNERS ARE PROHIBITED FROM USING MUSIC DEVICES? The almost apparent reason makes sense, BUT pls reconsider by taking note of all races that took place in BGC, UP Dil., Manila etc…
I bet a close-to-50% of all runners who are planning to join will have second thoughts, or maybe the event marshals will be spending all their time and energy in halting runners with music device.

  27. i will be using my mp4.this is a long run.
(for me)the statement says “may not”. if the statement clearly states “must not” then i will have to reconsider bringing my gadget.
still, i do not think the marshals will spend their time or concern themselves much with regard to mp3/4, iphone, etc.

  29. @theDAZARA: Thank you, but I would like to emphasize why I seconded “dan” on his observation. According to statutory construction in legal parlance the word “may” is directory in nature and not mandatory. It is permissive only and operates to confer discretion. The directory word “may” when qualified by “not” is NOT mandatory in character because it is not supported by jurisprudence on statutory construction (Office of the Ombudsman vs. Andutan, Jr., G.R. No. 164679, July 27, 2011).

  30. curious lang po.. yung top 3 na winners per category ay kukunin lang po ba sa competitive wave or every wave in each category ay may top 3 winners? thanks!

  31. what is the big deal about music gadgets anyway? do you think marshals will lift a finger or spend a second apprehending runners wearing music gadgets? this a negligible issue that must be taken in stride. what matters most are the race support (e.g. secured route, ample hydration, organized baggage, complete race kit etcetera) *sigh*

Hindi siguro entirely SAFE TO RUN kaya the road needs your undivided attention. Kasi I think hindi naman nila masasara ang buong road for us runners…

  33. I joined the tour700 last May, nasa rules din nila na bawal ang music players/gadgets..

Galing… convenient ah.

As for sa music player, para sa safety yan. Meron talagang mga races na bawal yan.

    actually mas concerned ako dito
2.25 Any reasonable medical or emergency evacuation costs incurred on behalf of a runner by the 7-Eleven Run 800 will be for the cost of the runner.

2.8 Runners are required to complete the 7-Eleven Run 800 course within 4 hours for 21K, 3 hours for 16K, 2.5 hours for 10K, 1 hour for both 3K and 5K

  35. @tserman:

likewise that is what i had been saying all along. this so-called music gadget rule is a non-issue. mukhang maganda itong 7-11 run kaya siguro hinahanapan na butas ng ibang mapaglaro ang imahinasyon. as the saying goes “common sense is not common after all”.

  36. Did anyone else saw in their receipt when they can claim their racekit? I just payed at 711 and there’s nothing on the receipt when I can claim my race kit.

  37. tumatakbo para sa medal? naman.

tumakbo tayo for good health para good vibes lagi.

No need to invoke a lawyers mind here – kung ano ang unang dating un na!

  40. @Marvin of Comment No. 87:

Here we are again. This has been a debatable issue before. Let us not criticize people kung ano man yung reasons nila for running or joining a Run kasi nakaka discourage po iyon. Some run for medals, for lootbags and freebies, for health, for their loved ones, and for some other reasons like proving others na kaya din nila ang long distance running. Kung may sariling reason ka man why you run, just keep it to your self na lang. Let us not dictate what reasons other people should run for.

    Happy Running everyone! :D

  41. @iamnoel: why so cruel? ganyan na ba ang mga veteran runners ngayon or yung mga matatagal ng tumatakbo? kailangan inaalipusta ang mga walkers? you are discouraging other na gusto rin namang tumakbo.

You dont know who this runners are and what they have achieved in their lives so stop saying na pang brag lang ang mga medals. I have a friend who is not so good at academics and have not achieved any significant accomplishment in his life pero nung natapos nya yung Run United 2 last June and received the medal, ibang tuwa yung nakita ko sa mukha nya. Sobrang nacherished nya yung accomplishment nya and sabi nya sakin eh “Tol, ang saya ko. Natapos natin.” And he was proud of his accomplishment kahit na kayo, MGA REGULAR/VETERAN RUNNERS, eh minamani nyo na lang yun 21K. I posted our pictures on Facebook and many congratulated him for his accomplishment. Hanggang ngayon masaya pa rin sya and he is willing to join more runs.

Gaya nga ng sabi ko, everyone has his/her reasons for running. If you cant accept that, maybe you chose the wrong sport.

Masaya tumakbo. Pero wag naman sanang ganito.

  42. @brad
agree po ako sa mga sinabi mo. Just want to share how i started. I started na ang goal ay about sa health since asthmatic ako, then after I ran 5k nadisappoint ako dahil sa bad experience ko. . then a month passed I decided to run again because of medal naman. since then, puro medal ang goal ko kaya ako tumatakbo, then nung mejo nakakasawa na ang medal, I ran for breaking PR naman.

    cheers!

  43. on context, i think “may not” here means it is not allowed. although i agree, i don’t think this will be/can be strictly implemented. well, at least i’m hoping :) buti kung may kasama ka tumatakbo, pero kung mag isa ka lang, tatakbo ng 21k, ang lungkot naman haha. at energy booster din ang music :) siguro safety concerns kaya may rule na ganito. pero masaya din minsan ang di nakaheadset. minsan kasi binabati tau ng fellow runners, hindi natin napapansin :)

  44. @Brad:

my statement is general and not meant to ridicule anyone. im just wondering why some runners depend on freebies before running. kung walang finisher shirt o finisher medal sisiraan ang event. kailangan ba talagang may medal bago tumakbo..?

  45. @brad comment 92

  46. @noel comment 94

This in turn drives up the reg fees… Pati tuloy yung mga walang paki-alam sa freebies, naapektuhan (in the form of higher reg fees)

  47. Peace to ALL Runners,
from an EX SMOKER, EX DRINKER, EX everything BAAAAD for your health I DID IT.
Running made me see the light. Progress for me was excruciatingly slow but From a pace of 12 to 15 minutes per kilometer I now do my 10k in less than an hour. To all newbies like me (i still consider myself one) keep that inner fire burning and you too will see the light. To all the running experts and veterans keep the advice pouring.
I hope all runners unite and accept each other for all our differences. :)

  48. @mark:

good suggestion bro! something like a pay per need only basis may work. besides not all runners have the same basic needs. this is something worth considering. :-)
