  1. Very organized race! And nakisama ang weather di masyadong umulan, tama lang =)

The only setback: as a slow runner, XL na lang naabutan kong finisher’s shirt.

    da-best yung shirt, ganda!

  3. Thank you to the runrio organizer and unilab, they did a great job.

My only REAL COMPLAINT is that there are many portable toilets on the event but the portable toilets are dirty, smelly and uncomfortable to use, but all in all it was great race event.

Thanks again to the organizers of a great event.

  4. I hope my finisher’s shirt din sa iba.. Like me, malaking achievement para sakin na may physical condition pero natapos ko yung 3K… Para mafeel din namin. =) tnx

  5. As per runrio (posted at their FB page),nadelay ng 10mins ang Finish timing clocks because they have to put it down due to the heavy rains and winds at MOA. I think when they put it down, pinatay din ang clocks and hindi inadjust when they put it back up.

So, everyone should just wait for the official time captured by the timing mats.

Sana next time, they would announce this kahit during the program para aware lahat ng runners.

  6. eto explanation ng runrio about the clock. ok na ha!

“Actually it is not even based on the last wave. Truth be told, there was an instance that the timers and tarps/signages on the arcs had to be taken down due to the strong winds and heavy rain at MOA. While the 21k runners are assembling at the BGC the staff at MOA were busy reinforcing the arcs for increased safety to runners. While the 21k first wave had their gun start, the timers are at that time being reinstalled back at the arch. This might be the reason while the timer went out of sync with the timing mats. But this should not be a cause for worries because our official time will be the ones captured by the chronotrack timing device. The very early morning rain at the seasude area of the MOA have given the setup of the race super challenging. That is why safety was prioritized to ensure that while we gave decided to continue with the event, utmost safety measures were put in place for the benefit of our running public. Thanks!” –Runrio, Inc.

  7. Definitely one of my better runs because i enjoyed this one… very well organized! Congratulations to Coach RIO and congratulations to all runners! Just one thing lang po… maybe next time we can prevent non runners to enter the runners path. Meron kasing mga lasing na nambabastos ng mga lady runners (about 1k from the 21k run start)sana next time we can avoid this

  8. @Jewel If I’m one of the organizers of this event, I would welcome any “reklamo” or feedback (from business language perspective). Runrio is one of the best organizers out there because they take actions from the “reklamo” of their customers. That’s where loyalty comes from. And even if you don’t have “reklamo”, I’m pretty sure you also reap the rewards when runrio takes some actions on these “reklamo”.

  9. Thank you Lord for a great #RU2 yday.cool weather! saw a lot of my runner friends and met new ones too. Congrats to all of us!

Tuwang-tuwa rin si red AngryBird lobo for flying again, hehe.

Kudos to Unilab Active Health esp to Sir Lester Castillo, Runrio Team, and to Coach Rio who personally helped clean up some littered sponges & cups! Kudos coach, lalo mo kaming pinahanga *__* Overall outcome, the runners were very happy & satisfied.

  10. In my case the timer was off by 12 mins. My finish time was 2:45 in my watch but in the timer it was 2:33. I think what happed was; it was supposed to start at 4:30 as announced by the host but surprisingly at around 4:18 the countdown started. If it started as announced, the timing would not have been a problem.

  11. Congrats RunRio and Unilab.

Congrats din dun sa mamang naka-red tshirt and black shorts. He was looking for a CR from luneta hanggang dun sa Naval(?) Base. :)

Nakita ko din yung handicapped guy. Ambilis nga nya e. I missed the family with the pram. Siguro gawa ng panahon kaya di sila tumuloy. Meron ding ilang bandit runners.

Bettered my old PR by 4minutes pala based on my watch.

    See you again on September!!!

  12. All the pictures that we have taken will be uploaded on the Unilab ActiveHealth Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/unilabactivehealth and http://www.unilabactivehealth.com.

We will start uploading the photos by tomorrow. Just a disclaimer though that we cannot guarantee that we have photos of ALL the runners given the many different factors like one runner blocking another runner, etc.

The RunRio Team have its own set of photographers. They will have a separate announcement on when they will upload their photos. Thanks!

  13. I have only good things to say to this event. Good weather (a little rain but overall it’s good), nice tshirt (I got the right XL size), nice Freebie bag, good hydration (plenty of them), lots of bananas (i ate four) and best of all beat my PR even by just 3 mins when I least expect it. Had a chance to see Coach Rio picking up some litter at V. Sotto ave. near CCP. Nice.

i just have to say that I appreciate posts like this…may comment, may reklamo pero may suggestion.

  15. nice organize coach rio nung along buendia taft kami

nakita namin si coach rio nag aayos ng mga cones then nung nasa may roxas blvd. naman ng pupulot na xa ng mga cups and sponges

tapos yung sa time ok lang yun kahit medyo late

according sa time ko i finish at 2:27 ++ then sa time sa finish line is 2:01 ++

see you on RU3 para sa mas longer distance

  17. @bayrunner
thank you for the nice mention sir Eric on Comment#13.
was a great event indeed! see u soon in the next races *__*

  18. My hats off to Unilab and Runrio!

    Few comments/observations:
-i saw coach Rio running pass us along 32nd st.. ang bilis :)
-ang daming kalat every after water stations. at least sa roxas blvd may mga pumupulot ng used cups kahit papaano nakatulong sa mga maglilinis
-i saw coach Rio again, this time sa CCP may bitbit na sako and pumupulot din ng kalat (WOW!)

  19. @Hometown17 I’m using RunKeeper with my iphone4s, got 23km for the race… Hmmm, pag garmin kulang, pag iphone sobra?

  20. suggestion lang po sana sa mga runners na babae (girls only) sana ung suot nyo pong pang takbo e wag ung super nakakaakit sa paningin ng mga tao kc nakakadestract sa aming mga boys..kc me nakita kmi during the 21k race na babae na halos nagmumura ung dibdib at sbi nga nakasabay kong lalaki na medyo me edad na wow daw ang laki! so nasisira ung momentum at facing namin mga lalaki..tama po ba?

  21. to the organizer: naubusan ng medium size wife ko first time pa naman nya mag 21k so large size nakuha nya sobra laki sa kanya. baka po pwede nyo pa mapalitan ng medium or small size. di pa po nya sinusuot.

  22. @enard: i think you should contact the organizer thru their facebook account or email them on their website. I think meron mga sizes na naooverlook nila during events so may chance na meron pa silang nakatago na ganung size. try mo po. sayang naman kasi 1st 21k ng wife mo yun :)

  23. I ran the 5K, and my complain is on the kilometer markers. They were totally misplaced giving false notifications. E.g. the 2km marker appeared to all of us after just 5mins! Even the fastest of us cannot run 2:30min/km, that is a fact! The 4km marker is 1.5km away from the finish line! Majority of us don’t have GPS watches so we depend on the km markers for pacing ourselves. No need to have kilometer markers if they are not placed in the correct places along the route.

  24. @bertong balutan :

Okay lang yung sir. Nakakawalang pagod nga yung mga ganun eh. Nasisira ang “facing” mo sir? Naka-about face ka ba tumakbo?

  25. 1st ever.. sakto ngayun ang distance per Soleus GPS watch.. partida 2 pa kami… :D love the event… nice venue… nice.. lahat nice…. basta Rio powered and organized.. iba… :D

  26. Based on experience and experiments, GPS devices are NOT THAT ACCURATE. Do not trust your GPS devices kasi sa layo ng mga satellites sa Earth eh prone pa rin naman yan to certain degrees of errors and such. Always expect discrepancies.

Another reason why hindi kayo nakakakuha ng exact distance sa GPS nyo is depende pa rin yun sa side ng road na tinaktakbuhan nyo.

let’s wait for the official time na nga lang..

@risamonte – heard na may nag shortcut due to marshall error (daw)

  28. Nice weather & very well organized event. All in all it was superb!
Just asking about the timing since this is my very first time to run @ the last wave (3rd wave If I’m not mistaken). How is it?Are the timing for all 21k runners are all to be based on the first gun start on the 1st wave?Or there is seperate timing per wave basis?
    Anyone knows, please clarify. THANKS.

  29. Wave 1, where I am part, runners are short by 400 meters as a result of the wrong turn at BGC. Error on the part of the marshals which is rare in runrio events. No need to complain coz they corrected it after the first 2 waves. To compute for the lost 400 meters, just get the ratio of the lost distance over 1000m x your average pace + your actual time to get your actual run time (e.g., 400/1000 x 6 + 2:00).

  30. I’m so happy for completing my first 21k run. See you on September running friends. More power to RunRio :)

  31. @ RUNdezvous Inc. : Your post settles it. Thanks. I already noticed the discrepancy on the kilometer markers I passed. I thought that such gap will be compensated in the next markers, but no. Tsk.

  33. @RUNdesvous, where was the wrong turn? If there was a mistake, then this is no small error. 400 meters may not seem a lot when you consider 21K, but for someone who is shooting for a goal or a PR, it can spell a big difference. If you are running a 6:00 per kilometer pace, that’s a 2:24 difference in race time!

I hope this is clarified. My Garmin watch did measure a 300 meter difference, but I attributed it to the typical GPS inaccuracies.

one of these days, i will not be surprise to hear na ginulpi ng mga runners ang mga bouncers na ito..

  35. Excited for the official results!

Anyway, as I’ve read somewhere… finisher’s kit will be given on a first come first serve basis and no fitting. So better train and run faster the next leg so you can get the size you want. #justsaying

Well organized run… thanks Runrio and Unilab.

Just had a comment on fellow runners… put those water cups and banana skin on the trash bins and NOT on the middle of the street to avoid accidents.

  36. 150. @chase
hahaha dj mia b yun kc sa dibdib k kasi mapapatingin e.

    160. @jewel

pero naisip ko mukhang tama si angelo just enjoy it and feel it..from now on im calling all pretty girls 18-25yrs.. see u in unilab-3 final leg ok.. pls. pls. wear your very very sexy outfit ha..watch out all photographer there..hahaha hirap yata tumakbo kapag may nakaumbok grabe..parang tatlo tuloy ung legs ko..joke..

  37. Mga bottom of the the pack runners! Congrats! I saw a couple of old faces (backs…) and new ones. Nice running with you guys more power!

  38. 180. @angelo

hahaha cge good boy lang ako sa ru3..ska maglalagay ako ng tapaoho ung nilalagay sa mata ng kabayo para diretso ang tingin ok ba sau? goodluck and see u on sept. 16 final leg.

  39. 21k course was accurate as registered in my Soleus GPS at 21.11K. I was in the 1st wave.

The time clock above finish line was off by 10 mins pero ok lang.

    Over-all, a great, well-organized race!

  40. Within 3 days dapat yung results diba? Coming from runrio it looks like within the week na. Just a minor complaint. Compared to natgeo run, the results were out next day I think.

  41. lupet ng run united the best talaga. dami lang diet kasi ayaw magsikain ng saging heheheh but overall what a nice run kahit umulan ng unte :-)

  44. best run ever..thought time ko sa ru1 is 2 hours and 6 mins.. and ngayon sa ru2 2 hours 9 mins.. pwede na po ba akong mag 32k sa ru3?????… any advice?? or suggestion?? nalilito pa po kc ako ee.. my age is 18.. mamatay ba ako sa 32k at ru3?? =)) hehehehe

  45. @Solo runner

sir kamusta ang experience mo with a GPS watch instead of the iPhone application you have previously used & reviewed? I went straight to a GPS watch instead of the trying other platforms? thanks.

  46. @Solo runner

sir kamusta ang experience mo with a GPS watch instead of the iPhone application you have previously used & reviewed? I went straight to a GPS watch instead of the trying other platforms. thanks.

  47. Congratulations to all finishers! This is my first 21k and I finished within my target time! The only sad thing is that I got a sized XL finisher shirt because they ran out of medium :( Sayang I was looking forward to wear it after the race. Overall, excellent job Runrio and Unilab! :)

  48. @Lance A.

A GPS watch is a much better experience than an iPhone app. For one, it is easy to check your pace, distance, time, etc. All it takes is a quick look at your watch. In a phone app you have to fish it out of your pocket, fumble with the password; or you have to wait for the audio cues.

  49. @marlo
(IMO)if you think na di mo pa kaya. . dont do it. . mahirap na. . pero if you think kaya mo. . last year kasi medyo mainit kaya sunog yung mga inabutan ng mahapdi hapding init :)

good luck po and congrats sa ru2 21k mo

  50. Me naabutan kaya ng sweeper bus? Parang wala ako nakita? Kung wala GOOD! haha

Me nakita ako isa nagshort cut! tsk-tsk*

Para kasing nayayamot ako =(, ang hirap magtrain tapos me mga nang dadaya… sabagay, it’s not like were racing each other or they get credit for finishing fast while cheating. Basta! Onwards to RU3 and the Marathon!
