  1. Except for the host who couldn’t do basic arithmetic, the event was flawless. I’ve been critical of Runrio events but I have to say that this one was well executed!

  2. Runrio is still the premiere run organizer in the country.Though i notice that for 21k timer at the finishline seems lower by 10mins.
Overall, im satisfied. Value for money indeed.

  3. Great weather. I feel sorry for anyone that decided not to run because of the rain… seems like it stopped right at the 21K gunstart.

  4. We were very much excited and was in lined at the trampoline when suddenly the elastic rope snap. I hope the lady who fell was not hurt. I hope next time the organizers will double check the safety of side events. Nice run though.

  5. it was very nice bumping into the PF people: Joric G. (a.k.a. RedCapGuy) this is the first time I saw him finally donning the TA1 singlet…naks…! burn the roads, bro… Supladong Irish (Jared B.) chillax run lang sa kanya ito…:) and of course…Ms. Mars — buhay na buhay pa yun Angry Bird ha ha ha ha very nice…!

At Km. 18 within the vicinity of CCP area, I chanced upon Coach Rio himself leading the clean up of littered sponges…as in, he was picking it up himself aided by some street urchins… ganun siya ka hands-on, but this time literally “hands-on” walang gloves :)
    wow…..!

anyway, looking forward to the remaining runs for the second half of 2012…Congrats to all…!

  6. it was all well except for the finisher shirts distribution. it was frustrating coz ubos na ang medium size when i queued. i overheard someone saying mas malaki daw ang sizing this time so i scurried to the small size. pagdating dun, ubos na din. so i had no choice but to get a large size. my only concern is that they should have distributed the shirts according to what the runners indicated when they registered through the runrio system. that way, everyone should have been given the size that’s right for them. just my two cents.

  7. @mondrick

i was thinking the same thing as well. kaso nasa supplier nila kung kaya nila mag-produce ng ganun kadaming shirts with the amount of time left. so we have 2 options, get the sizes correct but we won’t get it since the supplier cant provide or what is currently being implemented

also, the sizing between the singlet and the finishers shirt might be different not unless the supplier can guarantee it’ll be the same. in addition, the participant might change his/her mind during the redemption and opt for a different size. perhaps giving the shirt to a friend or a family member

i can only look forward that the data they have right now will be used for RU3 and RUPM

    happy fathers day everyone! :)

  9. @barefootdaves

yup, i agree. in my case kasi, di ko naman ipapamigay un shirt ko so i wanted it right for my size. pero it’s still okay kasi i got a shirt, kesa naman wala. hehe.

anyways, i do hope they’d use the info from their system to facilitate the sizing and distribution next time. other than that, ayos na ayos na.

  10. At the risk of breaking people’s hearts, the clock at the finish line is off by 15mins; still a great event though!

Best part: seeing Coach Rio man the entire race course by foot.

Oh, and I’m so impressed with how runners were transported from MOA to BGC – the shuttle buses had police escorts! Impressive!

  11. This was a great run, the weather was fantastic: cool and pleasant.

One thing I noticed, the time shown on the clock at the finish line seems to be short by 10 minutes. Did anyone notice this also?

  12. RunRio Events indeed leads in organizing races because the learn from their mistakes and rectify them the following race. Example is the baggage. Good thing nilabas nila lahat at nagprovide ng baggage booth. Medyo matrabajo on the part of the marshalls pero mas orderly. Yung finisher’s shirt nman though pumalpak dahil naubusan pero magandang set up yung kinategorize yung distribution by sizes na nakapaskil atop the booths.

  13. CONGRATULATIONs to all the runners, despite of bad weather at start still the run are so fun….Well done coach RIO……

  14. The best talaga pag Runrio. Overflowing water, overflowing Powerade, madaming bananas and cold sponges. Madami ding medics along the route. Alagang alaga ang mga runners. Although meron din mga flaws kahit konti, overall it was a Great Run.

My 2nd Run and 2nd 21k. Beat my PR by more than 30 mins. Also experienced less after-race muscle pains unlike my first Run and first 21k. :)

  15. Congrats to the Runrio team. I have no major bad points on this run. Everything is organized. Maluwag ang kuhanan ng finisher’s kit.

    See you at RU3!

  16. My Best Race Ever…

Aside from staying healthy and fit…
sulit na sulit ang pagsali ko sa RU2
Daming freebies and have the chance to see Barbie,Kitchie, Carmina and Zoren…

    Plus new friends…

    cant wait for the RU2

    Saludo ako kay Coach Rio
    very humble..

  17. congratulation to all runners, nice event coach rio ganda organized lahat di sayang regs. fee nmen at very organized sya imagine sy p ang nmulot ng mga cup s tapat ng star city.thanks coach see u again R3…….

  18. Dang! Kudos to Rio and his team.

Wow. I brought my hydration belt and a banana because I was worried I will need them earlier because I ran the 21k without any running for 2 months. But the fear was unfounded as it seems every 1.5 k had a hydration station. I gobbled down 3 bananas, including my baon. No PR but I am happy to even finish with our 3-man team to escort a friend on her first 21k. I was anticipating to quit at 12-14k but the weather, the stations, our team’s pace came perfect together to make this a success. Portalets are aplenty!!! Not that I needed them ;-)

Now, I think I am going to aim for RU3 on longer distance if this is how Rio will organize it.

Condura?? Nah…this trilogy will bury it as it involves even the spectators, angry drivers and all.

  19. The timer was way off. We were at the tail end of the last wave and when our team hit the finish line, my watch MATCHED the timer. I thought that was weird that I even thought maybe they had the timers set for each wave…..how naive….hahaha. Well, we had watches, so 2:37+ was probably what it was for our team.

  20. nice run! well organized again runrio! ganda ng tela ng finisher shirt ngayon!

kudos din sa ust students (i think) sa ice cool area sa expo, at sa initial findings nila na it might be i.t band or tight hamstring ang tama ko kanina at hindi popliteus ay bigla ako nagkaroon ng relief.

congrats kay coach! hehe naging hyper ako nung may tumapik sa likod ko kanina sa riovana at tinanong kung ready na ako si rio pala yun hehe. we saw rio started to run before ng wave 3 namin at tanong namin “tatakbuhin din ni rio yun route hanep!” hands-on na hands-on kasama pa paa :)

    see you all sa ru3

  21. Nicerun… Magandang preparation para next month MILO full Mary Nyah hahahahahahaha. Congrats sa ating lahat.. Hooorah………..!!!!!

    • Much better event compared to RU1. Organized kit distribution and releasing of baggages. But I’m just wondering regarding the total distance, I’m using a GPS-based app on my phone to track my run. Both RU1 and RU2 registered more than 21K. This morning’s event was 23K.

  22. im very much thankful to the organizers of the event nung nagclaim kami ng kit sa 500 meter dash sinamahan talaga kami maraming maraming salamat po basta the best talaga ang runrio very organized ang event

  24. was inspiring to see coach Rio running himself while monitoring the race..somehow the 10-minute side to side with him along roxas blvd pushed me beyond my average pace. great event

  25. great run. :0)

    nice weather. :0)

muntik ng mawalan ng finisher shirt ! :0(
    wala na agad 2xl !
buti na lang,nag-tyaga ako maghanap. :0(

    :0)

  26. Calling Mr. Warren Espanol with Runners ID of WPE201. Just let me know how you will get. Enjoy ang run…..

  27. Hello Warren Espanol with Runners ID of WPE201. Just let me know how you will get. Enjoy ang run…..

  28. very exciting day, despite raining. sorry for those who wish not to run. they missed the event as well as the 2nd pie of the medal.

well done coach RIO. very organize. please consider comments from the runners pertaining on the claiming of finishers shirt. it will help to improve more ( from start to finish)

see yuo all in RU3. God Bless Us All…

    bakit kaya iba ngayon?

    nagtatanong lang po.

  30. what a sight. ibang iba na talaga porma ng mga runners ngaun sa runners noon. ibang level na.

Sana mura lang ung incoming rexona 2012 run…

  31. My timing chip got wet (of course) and the plastic lining on both sides slightly peeled off. 21K was short by approximately 450 meters.

  32. Nah! Earth run at Php350 is still the best. Runners high lang lahat yan for the time being. Mahuhulasan din kayo.

  33. WHOOOWW!!! nice race.. challenging ang wheather. as of now, kagigising ko lng. sarap ng pakiramdam ko. sakit ng katawan. hahaha SEE YOU ALL AGAIN RUNNERS. RU3.. =) keep safe. EAT,PRAY & RUN.

  34. IT’s a great run..!! despite of bad weather sa gun start pero cool and pleasant habang tumatagal..Ive noticed the time shown on the clock at finish line was short by 10minutes…anyway Mabuhay ang UNILAB at Runrio…!!!

  35. Bad trip sa 2 nd wave… Kulang ng marshalls ng magaguide few minutes away from the start.. I was fallowing a pack of runners..tapos biglang may nagsabi na mali ang route…so bumalik ulit kami…very disappointed”…

  37. Yung time din sa finishline din badtrip….medyo late ng ilang minutes….hope rios team can explain it here asap….

  38. @Grant Lim Naahh, i think this is one of the best I’ve joined, followed by Run Happy 2 by Brooks and the Navy Run.

Hindi naman lahat ng run na sinalihan ko I felt na it’s THE best because of runner’s high. ;)

If madami ulit sumali sa RU3…ibig sabihin di pa din sila nahulusan? :D

  39. Mas organized ngayun kesa last time. Meron na ngayon finisher’s tents based on shirt sizes.

Ang daming banana at powerade. Dalas kong dumighay habang tumatakbo hehe.

Ang dami di nakakuha ng bands kahit 3:30 dumating but overall it was an awesome experience!

  40. i think time ng 3rd wave yung nasa finish line. just wait for the official results.

  41. etiquette lang sana. kapag kumain tayo ng banana sana sa trash can natin itapon. sobrang gaan lang naman yung peel niya and kayang kaya hawakan muna habang nagaantay ng trash can. delikado kasi kapag natapakan ng runner.

  42. Hello sa runrio and unilab.. Thank you for listening sa mga suggestions ng mga runners on how to improve RU2.. Definitely better than RU1..
    Pros:
    1. Better lighting in kalayaan flyover
    2. Longer tables for hydration. Water and sports drink available in all stations
    3. Lots of banana and sponges
    4. Lots of medics on the route
    5. Organized distribution of finishers kits and separate tents for finishers shirt sizes
    6. Staff and marshals are friendly and encouraging along the route

Cons (very minor naman) and possible solution:
Con#1 – I understand that finishers shirt sizes are on a first come first serve basis but some sizes were produced more than others..
    A. Possible solution 1 – give finishers shirt size according to the one u got for singlet
    B. Possible solution 2 – since there is a priority reg for those that joined the previous legs, why not ask them for their preferred shirt size in advance and have those produced and since race bibs are given during the expo, ur preferred size will be printed on the bib? I know this may be a little taxing but this was done during the c5 half marathon and everyone was happy to get their preferred shirt size.. Then those that registered late, sila nalang un first come first serve sa shirt sizing.. Am I making any sense? Haha! Sorry, I know this is petty but common, we all want to be able to use our finishers shirt right? :)

Con #2 – The medal was just given and not place on the runners neck like RU1.. I know, again this is petty but it’s a nice feeling to have your medal placed on ur neck specially for those running their 1st half mary. :)
    A. Possible solution: just do it like RU1

Sorry po if Mahaba ang post.. All in all it was a great race.. :) kudos to runrio and unilab..

  43. @hsdelrosario

my Garmin registered 21.17K. though the timer was somewhat off by several minutes.

overall it was a GREAT RUN! Kudos to RunRio and Unilab!

  44. Pakiusap din sa mga runners….if pagkatapos uminom..wag naman pong ibalik sa table yung mga cups…medyo OC lang ako uminom sa used cups…merong akong nakita na nagsip lang ng unti then he put back the cup on the table. Medyo weird diba or katamaran lang.

nice to meet some running friends like TA1…
    THANK YOU LORD!

  47. Nice run! Sulit ang bayad. Sa ulit in ulet. Thanks nga pala ng madami to a good samaritan who gave me grapes when I was in pain while running! Chot nga ba? Forgot her name. Ngayon ko Lang nalaman yun bout grapes. Na wala sakit ng joints ko after a few minutes.

  48. Really works wonders.

Maraming eyeing to break PR’s. Maraming ma-heartbreak dahil sa maling time sa finish.

  50. Spotted that 21K guy handicapped, running without both arms! That was truly admiring… Kuya, kung sino ka man, I salute you! God bless and more power. =)

  51. @JP

  52. congrats to all!

    very good run!

(quoted)

photos will be uploaded here: http://www.facebook.com/AngeloAsPhotographer
    (disclaimer: independent photographer)

    Cheers!

  54. congratulation to all runners: correct timing application: +10 min for 1st wave, +5 min for 2nd wave and +0 min for last wave…

  55. Very Organized event, daming saging ang water stations despite the bad weather. Talagang pinaghandaan.
