  1. hmmm sana nag online ka lang kayo dati…

    yung handling fee naman minimal, mas magastos pa yung pabalik-balik sa mall.

    Yung 5k ng milo, eh alay lakad. Mahirap makatakbo sa dami ng runners talaga.

    As for cutoff, kaya na-sweep sila sa daan eh para sa safety nung runners mismo. Huwag pilitin kung hindi kaya.

    +1 kay @iamnoel … marami pa nga namang ibang races na walang cutoff. Ang cutoff ay para sa safety ng runners… Kaso meron talagang pasaway… sabi nga ni Doc, masama mag yosi.

    Huwag natin kalimutan yung nangyari sa 21k ng milo 2010 manila elims. Sana hindi na iyon maulit. Huwag pilitin kung hindi naman kaya. Mag ensayo muna tayo pwede pa naman sa provincial, at sa finals na 21k.

    July 11 na… lapit na. Hindi pa ako gaanong confident sa 28km to 38km… sa akin lang dito ako naiipit.

    Pero sa akin lang, sana umulan… wehehehe. Mas maganda ang takbo ko kung umuulan eh.

  2. Last June, I injured my right ankle due to basketball. I got scared as I saw my ankle swelling bad and not able to move or twist it. Did a cold compress immediately for 2 weeks and hot compress for the following weeks. I did see improvement as I was able to walk properly and the swelling gone, however I still feel a bit pain whenever I press the nerves connected to it.

    To my excitement, I played basketball in the 4th week of recovery (with an ankle support) and did not feel any pain at all. With that in mind I continued my regular training routine (cycling, boxing, running) in preparation for my 2nd Full Marathon for Milo. What I’m worrying about is what if my injury got worse after the run? Doctors say that a sprained ankle gets 1-2 months of recovery with no sport-related activities.

    I’m just hoping it might not happen and finish the race within the cut-off period. Good luck to everyone!

  3. cross my finger… nawa’y makatakbo ako dito bagama’t nakarehistro na ako sa apatnapu’t dalawang kilometro… sana sana sana lang… kahit ito na ang huling tatakbuhin sa taong kasalukuyan… :-)

  6. sobra sobra naman ang distance ng 21K. kahit ano pa sabihin nyo, laki ng agwat talaga e san mo man sukatin… tsk

  7. It’s confirmed that:

    1) The 2012 21K route is the same as the 2011 21K route; and

    2) The route is accurate as certified by AIMS / IAAF. Route is measured via a device that mimics the route that a runner would take.

  9. Hindi naman siguro talaga exact na 21km yan. yung 42km nga 42.195 eh. Ang pagkakaintindi base sa scale yang mga online gaya ng dailymile etc. may error parin yan. Certified ang run ng AIMS/IAAF. So yung distance na tatakbuhin nyo ay kagaya ng 21km ng boston.

  10. Nung sunday nag reg kmi sa bgc runrio and then sbi wla na daw medium na single binigay sakin XTRA XTRA LARGE help nmn pano ko mapapalitan ung mga singlet nmin? Super laki as in sa trinoma ang daming people na nakapilamhalosmabutin kmi two hours kya di na natuloy pano ba palitan ng medium ung singlet nmin pls help

  12. @nikka – nung nag reg ako for my family, almost 4 hrs. kami pumila ng iba pang nagpapareg… available singlet na lang nun e XXL,size ng wife & kid ko small lang. sabi ng staff wla na daw dadating na smaller size. What i did, pina-repair ko na lang sa suking mananahi php.50.00 per singlet, ok na din kaysa hindi magamit :)

Malapit na rin takbo nakakamiss na ulit tumakbo ng 21k its my 3rd time run in 21k this year but itong milo yung pinaka-nakaka excited dahil bukod sa ito ang pinaka maraming runners at dito rin makikita ang mga elite runners , maganda pa sounds., at syempre my cut-off time para may laban laban..

    bout nga pala bout the injuries.. always warm-up and stretch before mag run.. eto ang pinaka importante tapos maglakad muna kahit 5/10 mins.. para di ma stress in the long run, and about s mga shin splints.. hmm.. kelangan siguro di masyadong malapit yung strides kasi dun mo mararamdaman pag short masyado yung strides mo, tip ko lang medyo ipitik nyo konti yung paa nyo , itulad nyu sa mga kenyan para narerelieve yung legs.. and syempre if kung kelangan maglakad eh di maglakad.

    ok that’s all folks.. be a wise runner.

  16. sinu po nagbebenta ng slot nila for 42k!! bibilihin ko kahit mas mahal or doble ng presyo, sa inyo na singlet bib lang kailangan ko!!!

  17. @iameivor – nakuha mo na kit mo? online din ako nagregister pero after a week nakuha ko na… tawag ka sa runrio kung di mo pa natatanggap. Air 21 ang courier nila and nagttext naman ang Air21 if idedeliver na ang kit mo… hope you will get it soon! wag masyado ma-stress…

  24. Yung mga nakakuha ng XXL, you still have time iparepair. Kagaya sa amin, puro XXL ang nakuha ko eh ang liliit naman namin, kaya ayun,pinarepair ko na. See you my co-runners!

    • @carmelo – wala na po yatang slots for 42k… 10k yata ang marami… btw, nabigla po ako sa’yo if kung seryoso ka 7hrs kang tumatakbo kada sunday tapos every weekdays 2 1/2 hrs… sipag mo po.. regards at sana makahanap ka po ng slot for your first FM… :-)

  26. @carmelo sa ibang 42k ka na lang tumakbo kung wala ng slot. madami pa namang iba. just train lang. next time register ealier first before you train. mabilis talaga maubos pag milo.

  27. milo has been in the scene for the last 36 years. it is the premier running event in the philippines. expected talaga na mabilis maubos ang slots. we all train hard. make compromises. less sleep. all of these in order to achieve a goal in our chosen category. so we should also take time to register early. to be honest, i wouldn’t be surprised if i will see the same sentiments by next year. i hope we all learn from this experience. we can make up a lot of excuses but at the end of the day we could have done things differently. have a nice day everyone! =)

    i agree with you because this is a common mistake of most runners. one step forward then two steps backward. urong-sulong kaya registration pa lang palpak na.

    sabi nga ng ating mga lolo at lola, “mainam ang maagap kaysa sa masipag”. amen!

  29. I dont think I will make it before the cut-off time. I dont care about the medal and loot bags anymore kahit recreational runner lang ako. I just want to finish my 21k here and then rest muna from running. I had a Posterior Tibial Tendonitis kasi after the MBC Run last Sunday. Medyo kumikirot pa and i hope makarecover agad kahit mawala lang ng konti yung pain during this coming Milo Marathon. Hindi ko rin naman kasi expect na magkaka injury ako. Hayyyss. Will skip August Runs after this. Sana makapagrun sa Run United 3. :)

  30. Can anyone suggest kung saan pwedeng bumili ng ankle support na medyo mura lang and kung effective ba talaga yun to avoid ankle injuries? Thanks :)

  31. question lang po sa mga beteranot well experienced na runner,,may binili at natry ko nang gamitin na LP brand na simpleng knee support parang compression lang siya and so far okey naman po siya sa long run ko okey lang po ba yun i mean okey lang po ba sa mismong run nang milo eh gagamitin ko siya,,21k po ako,,thanks hehehe

    marami po kasing brand and bilihan nang ankle support try niyo po sa runnrs bgc and athlet foots may ibat ibang brand po dun and may inexpensive din po pero same lang nang support nagkakaiba lang sa gamit na materyales..

    i agree din po sa inyo sir,,ako nung nakita ko yung post na open na siya nagintay lang ako nang pera nagpunta ako agad nang maaga though kinakabahan ako kasi wala pa akong solid na base in running i mean kulang pa pero nung nakapagreg na ako at nakita ko na yung race pack and everthing nakaramdam ako nang urgency to train hard and train wise, :) good luck to all and sa mga di po nakapagreg well keep running siyempre for sure may nakalaan pang race or run para sa ating lahat.. :)

  34. save your lecture everyone. milo has limited slots and there will always be people who cannot enter. stop lecturing them as if it’s their fault. most of the time it’s for some circumstance. let’s understand their’s and let them be if they air their regrets. =)

  35. @Brad, kung effective ba talaga yun? depende yun sa physiology mo. pwedeng makabuti or pwede din makasama. sometimes yung mga ganyan they alter how your body functions.

    let me tell you about my experience before. i used to have pains in my sole (tibial part) in particular

    i thought putting a silicon underneath would ease the pain. apparently, it introduced more pain. and this time at the side of my knees. you wouldn’t think that a slight increase in the heel would cause such pain. it did to me. i removed the silicon and the pain in the knees went away.

    turns out na small size ang sapatos ko para sa paa ko so i changed it and the pain in the tibial had gone also

    im not saying you dont try it. i suggest bilhin mo pero itry mo muna. mag long run ka and see how your body would react. may time ka pa naman itry.

    Patok ba na magparticipate as food (fried Chicken & Rice) concessionaire sa event na ito? Will I profit or pagod lang? Anong time usually may kakain from 2am to 10am na time frame? I need your incite and suggestions. Many Thanks and Good Luck! =)

    • sir actually non sense pala kung ibebenta ung 42k na di kasama singlet, di kasi pwede tumakbo pag ibang singlet gamit, nasa handbook kasi!!

  37. 9 days na lang runners. Tanong ko lang. Last year kasi, umuulan. Lumuwag daw cut- off time. Ilan na lang para sa 21 km? 2.5 hours kasi diba? Eh nung last year?
