  9. Hi Kim, yesterday afternoon pa nag setup Ang Run for Light. Our top race organizer s
    ets up 48 hours prior to race event. He pays extra for permits to setup earlier. Most race organizers setup 24 hours before the race event and that includes coordinating with the local government and the police for security. In times like these were there’s flooded areas in the Metro, the local government and the police will be too busy to attend to the needs of race organizers and would focus on their duties of keeping the peace and helping in relief operations. As you know the location of Kellogg’s is BGC and though the area is not flooded, it is a key business district with many 24/7 operations. I am saying this as a volunteer race organizer and also as a licenses business continuity planner and emergency response / disaster preparedness professional. And I haven’t slept yet since last night monitoring this crazy weather condition due to my work .

  10. well, sa one pf the organizer kausap ko kanina,kahit na gumanda na ngayon ang weather d na talaga maituloy kasi set up palang should be 24 hours in advance na:) well kung ganun i hope sa next schedule d rin sana umulan:)

  11. papaano kung ang next schedule tumapat sa ibang run kung saan naka-register din kami, magre-refund ba ang kelloggs or ang organizer?

    That is correct. It takes about 24 hours to set up for a race event. Anything earlier than that would mean that race organizers would pay more money for permits and security. In addition, there’s a lot of coordination with the local government and police for a road race here in Metro Manila. And in instances when there are heavy rains and flooded areas, the local government and police will focus on their duties to serve the public and ensure that there is peace and order more than anything else.

    it’s not an easy decision for any organizer to postpone their event after months of planning. ayaw rin nilang ma-disappoint or madismaya ang mga runners. hindi rin madali humanap ng bagong petsa. but when it comes to acts of nature such as storms or typhoons,we can only hope and pray for a favorable weather sa araw na tinakda.

    preps and set-up alone takes them bet 24-36hrs to do at marami pang ibang mga bagay ang involved na dapat asikasuhin, lalu na ang safety ng bawat isa prior to reaching the venue.

    thank you for understanding. hopefully nga mas maganda at mas mkisama ang weather sa rescheduled date.

We have to understand din na kawawa yung staff pag nagset-up sila 24 hours before the event (which is this morning) at yung ibang runners na galing sa lugar na may baha like CAMANAVA at Rizal e mahihirapan makapunta sa event pag matutuloy bukas. Kung napeperwisyo kayo kasi hindi tuloy bukas, mas malaki ang posibleng maging perwisyo sa ibang tao pag matuloy ang event bukas. Kaya ba natin panoorin ang mga bata at babae sa buhay natin sa tatakbo dito na magmukhang basang sisiw?

  16. warmup sana to sa Milo…Aug 5 nalang…Not on Aug 12, may Regent and Rexona run, madami sumali dun..wag din Aug 26, 7-11 run, madami rin sasali dun. :)

  19. heavy rain ba talaga? o dahil yung route map e katulad ng PHILIPPINE NAVY run na dadaan ng McKinley at Bayani road??? ang ganda ng panahon kanina.. pinag- pratisan ko ng mabuti tong event na to, sayang naman.. pero ok lang kaso bakit last minute lang sinabi sana nakasali kami sa Philippine Navy..

  21. hope this will be re-sched for a much later date. This is just a week after the milo run and one week before the rexona run. Sana give time to rest for our muscles. Hope this could be re-sched later part of Aug.

  22. Good evening runners!

    Postponing this race was a tough decision on our part as a planner; for this will mean additional workload of replanning.

    We have coordinated with the Navy and even gave assistance on the route to make sure runners of both event would enjoy their route and avoid collision of runners along Lawton.

    But as an organizer, our primary responsibility is to ensure the safety of all our participants; this has been our primary guide and will alway be.

    Again, thank you for your kind understanding. It is such a joy serving the running community. Rest assured the rescheduled race will be safe, fun and a little different.

  23. nakita ko yung run ng Philippine Navy/Coastguard.. nagkagulo din yung mga runners pati sasakyan,, may mga naligaw din lalo yung mga 5K.. kung nagkataon na tinuloy ang Kelloggs run magkakagulo lalo sa lawton ave at Bayani road at bibigat yung traffic.. sayang lang talaga kasi nagkasabay yung schedule ng run sa parehong route,, re-sched din kasi yung sa Navy na dapat e July 29.. well good choice na rin na nagpaubaya ang Kelloggs para na rin sa ikabubuti ng fellow runners at ng mga commuters na dumadaan ng lawton ave at bayani road kahapon..

    postponed pero tuloy-tuloy pa rin ang reg… hehehe

    at dahil nilipat sa aug 5, kailangan ko na tuloy ibenta yung bib namin dahil may conflict sa schedule.

    Since we are only doing an extended registration period, we will have only one registration site which is in RUNNR BHS (Global City) with limited slots. This is to ensure everyone (finishers)receieves freebies from sponsors and also to maintain a level of quality on our race.

    BTW, 160001 at 160002 yung bib numbers. Sa runner BHS namin nakuha.

    bib lang walang singlet, nadonate na sa caritas. Tapos na gamit na yung bowl at nakain na yung cereals.

    i-pang bili na lang namin ng big-n-tasty sa wakdo kung mabenta yung bib. :p

We will not be able to run due to the schedule change.     Open pa po ang isang (1) registration site sa Runnr BHS, just to accomodate any last minute participants.

    Please try to get there early to avoid the rush and have enough time to do warm-up exercises.

    We should have more enough parking spots avaialable at their multi-level parking building.

  30. tuloy na ba to sa August 5 rain or shine?

    baka meron jang tiga south (las pinas, paranaque, cavite) na magcocomute lang papuntang mckinley, baka pwedeng makisabay, dko kabisado ang papunta. ung jeep poh ba sa ayala na pa market dadaan ng mckinley yun?

    • I believe there is still an on site registration, and its a rain or shine event given that there is only a 30% chance of rain, and this is already a re scheduled event. I checked with organizers already.thanks

  31. @Daniel, from shell Ayala 2 sakay pa ng jeep yun. Another option is Habal-habal, sa baba lng ng Ayala MRT meron, they charge 40pesos to Mckinley.
