Run United 1 2012 – 21K Gun Start Adjustment and Reminders

Unilab Run United 1 2012 participants, take note of these adjustments and reminders for the upcoming race on March 4, 2012. Specially to the 21K Runners, GunStart is adjusted from 5AM to 4:30AM.

Dear 2012 Run United 1 Participants,

Please be informed of the following updates:

21K CATEGORY UPDATES:

1. Starting gun
The gun start for the 21k category was adjusted to an earlier time from 5am to 430am . We are allowing a maximum grace period of 30 minutes to allow participants to start. Hence, by 5:01am, the starting line will be closed to all runners. This is due to the limited time that the race organizer has been allowed to have the race route closed to traffic. We hope you understand that this is for everyone’s safety and security.

2. Free shuttle services

We are providing free shuttle services for all 21k runners from MOA to BGC starting at 230am. This service will be available at 15 minute intervals until the last trip scheduled at 330am. After 3:30am, the next shuttle service to BGC will only be available starting 630am, at 15 minute intervals, with last trip scheduled at 930am. No shuttle services will be provided after 930am.

Designated pick-up point: OCEAN DRIVE (in between ECOM Bldg and Blk12) at Mall of Asia complex
Drop off point: In front of Riovana store in Fort – BGC

Runners are are recommended to plan their transportation in advance given these developments.

3. Baggage Counter
21k runners may leave their bags at any of the 2 designated Baggage Buses parked along the 9th Avenue near the Gun Start area in Fort BGC from 2:30am until 5am only. After the race, you may claim your items from the same bus at OCEAN DRIVE (in between ECOM Bldg and Blk 12) at Mall of Asia. Participants are strongly advised not to leave any valuables in their bags. The race organizer and any of its sponsors will not be held liable for any loss or damage to your personal items.

Below are key points to remember:

Starting line at bgc across RIOVANA
Baggage buses: 230am to 5am
Assembly time 330am
Starting gun 430am
Cutoff of start 500am
Finish line at MOA
Shuttle services*:
MOA to BGC**: 230am to 330am in time for the 430am starting gun
MOA to BGC**: 600am to 930am
*all shuttle services are exclusive to 21K participants
**in 15 minute intervals

5K CATEGORY:

The 5k gun start at MOA has also been adjusted to 5:30am. This will be simultaneous with the 10k category at a separate starting line, also in MOA.

  2. attention RunRio your new plan is unfair… di yan ang una ninyong statement, sabi ninyo dadalhin ninyo ang mga runners sa starting point hindi un mga finisher…. we need your statement, binabaha na kayo ng complain sa FB!!!

  3. I understand naman helps to spare the slower 3hr,21k runners like myself from the scorching sun. Looks like hiwalay na lang transpo ko sa group ko they’re running in other categs e.

    Any details po on the shuttle from MOA to BGC before the 21k gunstart?

    IMAGINE, IHAHATID KO MUNA ANG WIFE KO SA MOA WHO WILL RUN IN 5K, THEN GO TO BGC, PARK MY CAR BEFORE GUNSTART, RUN TO MOA THEN GO BACK TO BGC TO GET OUR CAR BEFORE GOING HOME? IF THIS HAPPENS, THIS WILL BE MY LAST TO JOIN YOUR EVENT TOGETHER WITH MY OTHER FRIEND RUNNERS! WALA PALA KAYONG KWENTA!

  7. ano ???? bakit nag iba na naman ng statement ang runrio ??? ang gulo nyo naman ….alangan naman bumalik pa ako ng bgc para kunin ko lang sasakyan… mas malapit ang moa from cavite…

  16. Ito nanaman ang runrio atras abante, nagtitipid nanaman para kumita sila ng malaki. Sana naman intindihin nyo kami mga runner at meron kayo isang salita. Paki ayos din yung portalet, hindi porket my portalet na ayos na, sana naman malinis, maayos, mabango at sapat ang portalet na gagamitan, mahirap kasi kung mahaba ang pila at naghihintay lalo na yung naiihi.

    Yung lang po concern ko sana maintindihan nyo.

    cant blame em kasi hassle talaga.
    sana lang walang aberya sa transport ng mga tao fr MOA to BGC. at sana lang din hindi iisa ang bus nag magttransport dahil madami ang runners na nagregister sa 21K. ang yabang mga 4000 runners pakingan – tingnan na lang natin kung 4000 din ang mga happy runners pagkatapos ng run lalo na yung magaavail sana sa shuttle na yan. Heard na sa Runew pa lang sa Alabang, pinagtaxi na ang mga nag sign up sa naipangakong shuttle.

    In any case, nagclarify naman na sila na may magttransport from MOA to BGC. Let’s just hope organized ang pagtransport na ito.

  27. Thanks po for informing us about the 5am starting line cut-off panakot sa mga late-comers para gumising at dumating sila ng maaga at skip muna sa gimick hehe.

    Pero meron din bang half-way cut-off time at finish line cut-off time sa 21k?

  28. Just don’t expect too much guys… have your plan B & C if in case something may happen not aligned with what the organizers have planned…

    Wala naman na tayong magagawa since they “perfectly” planned it already… sigh…

    Nakalagay rin dun yung schedule ng pagbiyahe ng shuttle. Marunong mag post, marunong naman din siguro magbasa?

    Hello Runners! Six more days to go before the opening of this year’s RunRio Trilogy/Run United Series. As we are all preparing to finally declare, “ALL SYSTEMS GO!” here are some additional reminders/information for your proper guidance:

    WAVED STARTS:

    For the Run United 1 race, WAVED STARTs will be implemented:
    FOR 21K: WAVE A – gun start is at 4:30AM; WAVE B – gun start is at 4:35AM
    FOR 5K: WAVE A gun start is at 5:30AM; WAVE B – gun start is at 5:35AM

    MESSAGE FROM COACH RIO:

    Hello Runners!

    More than 11,000 runners already registered for the Run United 1 on March 4 and 4,000 out of the 11,000 are 21km runners! This is the biggest 21km participation in the country.

    We apologize for those who did not make it to the 21km registration. We will increase the allocation in our future races. For now, you can still join on the March 4 race by signing-up for the lower categories. We have extended the registration since we can’t increase the 21km slots.

    You can register until March 2 but again, slots are not guaranteed. If we run out of slots before March 2, we will close the registration.

    All registration sites are open.

  41. wala tayong magagawa biglaan na naman ang nangyaring ganito…. tsaka bayad na kasi natin ang run event na ito…. Tayo ang makikisama sa patakaran nila tuloy…. di ba guys? Lagi na lang bang ganito… hay…. anyways…TIYAGA na lang mga dude… Yun lang! wala silang isang salita…. ISANG MALAKING ARAL…
