  1. Ang dami kasing expenses kaya siguro mahal. Additional expense sa bib holder at transpo papuntang BGC. Pero diba dapat, kasama sa sponsorship yun? Kaya nga kumukuha ng sponsor eh, para mapababa yung registration. Di ko alam kung sinong dapat sisihin. Yung Runrio ba o yung Unilab, hahaha…

  2. kung 1500 ang runners ng 21k, 1bus=50sitter.. 30 bus ang kailangan, unless, yung ibang bus e may nakatayong tao.. Tingin ko dun napunta yung additional P150 ng all registrants,compared to last years reg price, (for bus rent at gasolina) un lang, pabor lang ito sa ating mga 21km, kawawa mga runners ng shorter distances, nag suffer sila ng hi reg fee for nothing..

  15. @sebastian reymundo para sa may pera ok ung reg pero sa praktiakl nakow pow 900… eh almost pang bili na ng 1 sack ng rice… bat naman ganun kalaki tinaas its… true sa nabasa ko sa taas na … na mas ok mag join sa mga may benfcry … pass na muna for this one join nalng kami sa YAKULT mas mura pa 450 fro 16k run …. =)

    Tama ka Alan, sa bus cguro napunta ung extra P150 n bayad, sana mag set cla kung until wat time ung alis ng buss sa MOA.

    Tama ka Alan, sa bus cguro napunta ung extra P150 n bayad, sana mag set cla kung until wat time ung last trip ng bus going to BGC.

    im running 2 official 21Ks a month kaya masyado ko ramdam ang presyo, hu hu hu !!!

  21. ang mahal! :( inaabangan ko pa naman ‘to kasi mura dati. hehe :) pano ko ma-encourage ung mga kaibigan ko tumakbo kung mahal na reg fees?

    nweiz… sana ung baggage area ng 21km runners e sa moa na lng din. ang hassle din naman kasi kung bitbit pa namen ang aming mga bagahe sa shuttle. suggestion lang naman. :)

  22. tama si maxi,for me the price is not important eventhough na nagtaas talaga siya ng 150 compare sa nakaraang RU3.., what matters is kung saan ka masaya kahit kaninong lupalop ka pa magtanong or magkwento sa kaibigan man o kapitbahay ang isasagot lang sayo ganito “tatakbo ka lang magbabayad ka pa” , di naman important yung price ika nga sa kantang price tag “money can’t buy hapiness”… ganyan lang tlga kung gusto mong sumali diskarte lang pwedeng biglain pwedeng sundot-sundot lang sa budget .. kayang kaya yan pinoy eh!! kita kits sa RU1 .

    nga pala sa management yung map po kasi as i see yung finish line sa MOA ,paano po ba kami babalik eh kung yung baggage namin sa BGC.. may libre bang pabalik dun? baka naman matulad nyan sa milo dati umuwi akong bsang basa sa LRT hehehe.. paki sagot naman po tong post na to.

    tsaka sa mga runners dyan kita-kits nalang sa mga RU1 mga ate mga kuya.. ,

  23. tama si maxi di mo naman dapat alintana ang price pag gusto mong sumali in every race kahit kanino mo itanong kahit sa kapitbahay mo at kaibigan ang sasabihin lang sayo “tatakbo ka lang magbabayad ka pa” at minsan pag may naitanong sila na ang sinagot mo “ang mahal naman” ang ikakana lang sayo “mas mahal nga ang fun run” .. amf tlga pero di issue un eh ang what matters is kung saan ka saya ika nga sa kantang price tag money can’t buy hapiness , kung mahal eh di pag-ipunan ako di nmn ako mayaman pero diskarte lang sa budget instead na may bibilhin kang not so important or maglalaro ka sa internet cafe (shop) ,

  28. ang magpapabago lang naman ng isip ng RUNRIO about there sky high registration fee ay kung di susuportahan ang mga event nila pero as long as malaki ang turn out ng registration iisipin nila na okay lang magtaas kasi hanggang reklamo lang naman ang runners pero sasali at magbabayad pa rin naman. Rio dela Cruz instead i-push mo ang Filipino particularly ang masang Pinoy to start running dini-discourage mo pa sa sobrang mahal ng registration fee. Nagiging bench mark kasi ng ibang organizer ang price ng runrio. Mukhang pure business na lang at wala ng advocacy. So sad. Syempre may magsasabi na kung gusto mo ng magandang run magbayad ng mahal, eh bakit ang st. peter well organize pero 200 lang. Disclaimer: opinion ko lang ito, kung may opinion ka e di sabihin mo rin.

    SHUTTLE SERVICE:

    We will be providing a SHUTTLE SERVICE for 21km participants. The service will have the SM Mall of Asia as its pick-up point and will bring the 21km runners to the 21km starting line at the BGC.

    Why SM Mall of Asia as pick-up point? Consideration was given to 21km runners who may have other members of the family who will be running a shorter distance so SM Mall of Asia is a more feasible originating point. Besides, there are more available parking areas there than in BGC.

    More details and mechanics for the Shuttle Service will be posted once available.

  34. Wow this is my first race where the starting point is far from finishing point. Sosyal ng baggage natin may sariling transpo hehe. I just hope there’s still runner’s transpo 3.5 hours after 21k’s start because i’m so so slow haha!

  35. Medyo mahal nga for a run with no beneficiaries and the bib belt makes it more expensive. I hope they make it up with the freebies and loot bag. I’m looking forward to completing the medals sana. Ano po ang mga gunstart?

    We will be providing a SHUTTLE SERVICE for 21km participants. The service will have the SM Mall of Asia as its pick-up point and will bring the 21km runners to the 21km starting line at the BGC. Not the other way around pala. So runners with cars should all park in MOA.

  37. yeah, I agree with you siri. Runrio’s timing chip was a failure… I lost mine and i bought another one for the 2011 Runrio Leg 2. If I knew that it would be useless I shouldn’t bought again. I also expected that the race that they will organize in the future will be cheaper because of that(no need to provide d-tag). sigh…

  39. try naman naten out of town…sa probinsya sa La Union sa Feb 25, mat half marathon…it is first time in La union na may running na ganun,sabay akyat Baguio City for Flower Festival…masaya to Manila…

  41. I pledge to myself not to run at Run United not until they release to us the accorded trilogy loyalty tech shirts .. it wont be hard to decide … another prominent and one of the longest running “running event” is slated on March 4…

  48. Wala tayong magagawa dito desisyon ng organizer yan. Positive or Negative comment man ip0st natin deadma lang. Nakakatamad na tuloy sumali s RU trilogy. Bka ibenta ko nalang yung race kit ko 21 at mag yakult nalang para OK ang tyan! Sana next time bumaba wag ng madaming freebies.. Medal at shirt kuntento na kaming mga runners. Achievement na samin yun sa mga long distance runners.

  53. What’s the deal w/ jacking up the prices…? Don’t get me wrong I registered for this one, but almost P1k for an RU 21k? tsk! I agree, w/the others I hope (at the least) the singlet quality improves.

  54. Yay!!! I’ve already registered at Toby’s MOA, they’re offering 10% off if you’ll register for all the Run United events. But, then it’s only my first time to join this race so I passed on the 10% (sayang!).

    This will be my second half mary and hope to complete the trilogy =D =D =D

  57. @lilet you mean open na ang registration for RU2 at RU3 for 10% off sa lahat ng race registrations (P810 for RU1 21k)? Ano po prices ng reg sa RU2 at RU3?

    @maxi – oo nga fail yung reusable chips sa RU last year. Di ako narecord. Mas mabuti pa yung strip sa shoelace or yung nakadikit sa bib. Always recorded ang time ko pag yun ang gamit.

  64. Hmmm…I just finished a 21km sa Condura 2 days ago..as much as I’d like to join this RU1 (I joined last year’s RU2 10k & RU3 21k) parang ayaw ko na muna. I promised myself to be very selective na in the races that I join this year. Pili na lang talaga tutal after naman ako talaga sa health benefits of running which we derive from the many training runs we have between races. Siguro mga 4-5 well spaced 21km na lang ako in a year..para quality rin ang performance man lang, hindi basta makasali lang.

    Trivia lang po, hindi sponsor ang Unilab (RU series), same as Timex (Timex Run), Nike (We Run Manila, Adidas (KOTR), etc. Sila po ang may plans for the race. Kinukuha lang nila ang Runrio to organize the race. Parang kapag kinakasal ka, ikaw ang may kasal pero you choose to organize it or get someone to organize it for you. Lahat po ng final decisions, andun pa rin sa may pa-takbo from reg fees, to prices, and freebies. Runrio is just there to maximize the resources given by the companies para sa magandang race.

  69. post no 266 @jon, you make it sound na ung mga nagrereklamo dito are not aware of what you are saying. Though what you are saying is true it’s not that simple kahit papano may say pa din runrio dun – they can influence and make suggestions to their sponsors to make the event more attractive to runners. Don’t mock us!

  70. @logan, i think sa moa dapat magpark kasi dun ang finish line for all distances (start and finish lines for 10k and below). if you are running 21k, after parking, hitch a ride dun sa ipoprovide na transpo to get to the starting line sa bgc. no need mag taxi after running kasi sa moa tau mag-eend, which is where your car is parked :)

    kelangan lang siguro we arrive early. or else problem nga ung different start/finish lines lalo na sa mga magdadala ng kotse.

  76. @avelynne, @rod, @tubol: sorry to disappoint pero hindi ako mayaman. Ang point ko dito is we keep on bashing and blaming somebody else without knowing the whole story. Sana naman hindi natin hinuhusgahan yung ibang tao without enough proof. Come on guys, hindi tayo pulitiko na para bumaba sa level na yun.

  77. Did we all ask why? did we dig deeper? or we just made on the spot reactions? what ever, I knew there were negative thinking Runners as well positive…. RU1 Race Belt/Bib Holder.. what would be on RU2, RU3 and Philippine Marathon…… have you realized the 1st pattern it will be until the last event.. what more if you will knew that Marathon for the Philippine Marathon Event fee is 3K…. well, I came from simple life living with a minimum salary… start saving if this was your habit and likes.. la naman yan eh.. other post say’s “we have our own expectation, reactions and ways’.. just having Fun… :D

  79. Marie, Unilab is not making a single cent sa Run United. Abonado pa sila sa laki ng expenses. It’s RunRio who decides how much ang reg fees. Maybe you should check your facts first before finger-pointing.

    Jon, sponsor ang Unilab, Timex, Nike. RunRio calls the shots.

    Ang akin lang, if you backtrack all feedback when runs are just starting to gain popularity, you will see how demanding runners are. Ang daming hinihingi at sinasabi. Kulang ang mga marshals, walang baggage counter, kulang ang bananas at tubig, ang pangit ng race route, kulang ang security, ang pangit ng medals/singlet, etc. These things cost money.

    It’s okay to complain and let your voices be heard. But consider that Unilab runs have always tried their best to be consistent in what they do. Isa sa pinaka-organized, isa sa pinaka-okay na hydration, ang daming freebies, etc. Madaling magfinger-pointing pero let’s consider also na baka we are getting our money’s worth naman.

  80. If you think about it, talagang expensive for a run with no charitable beneficiaries. We can only hope that they organize it well for it’s price. Let’s hope plenty ang isotonic (not just water), plenty of cheerful and competent marshalls and field staff, ample emergency personnel with ointment and spray, enough bananas, sponges, gels at freebies, 21k and baggage transpo without problems and marami pang concerns.

    Ipon muna ako para sa 21k gusto ko yung medal set hehe.

Pagkatapos ng run magkakaalaman naman yan eh kung sulit ba yung binayad mo or pinagkakaperahan ka lng ng event organizers at ni coach rio, If they did do this for the money, then it may become the reason for their business to fail.

  85. just curious, back in the Milo Finals 2011, what was the spray they used for cramping legs? was it (omega pain killer)ointment diluted in water?

  89. prices,prices,prices..talagang ganito ata talaga ang buhay natin sa pinas..lahat pamahal ng pamahal..wala namang mura na, laging paakyat ang presyo…and fun run events are not spared by this disease..the only solution is not to join on any of these events.. tumakbo na lang sa bakanteng lote malapit sa inyo,tapos bili ka sariling medal mo, ang nakalagay ” run on my own backyard finisher”..hehehe

  94. i just got reg,,kasama na sa bib yung d-tag..medyo nagtipid talaga ang runrio..nakaplastic lang yung singlet as is..wala nang envelope wala ding race route..so binitbit ko as is..hahahhah check na lang daw sa net ung route whaahahha

  98. @wakashik yes may bib holders na po upon registration :) walang kasamang d-tag or timing chip (although sabi sa site nila may timing “chip” daw na included) may naka-attach lang na timing tag sa bib.

    @j_19 hindi na po babalik sa fort after the run kasi ang activity area ay sa moa :)
