Hehehe, eto na isa sa pinakahihintay ko. I’ll be more prepared for this one. I shall redeem myself Subic. Pinahirapan mo ako nung 2010 Subic Marathon at nung Milo Marathon eliminations.

Pero wala ako masamang masabi dito. Ang galing ng race route tapos malinis at sariwang hangin pa dito. Imagine nyo tatakbo kayo sa may kagubatan ng madilim pa (pero concrete naman kalsada). Masaya talaga. Well organized din ‘to.

Ang masasabi ko lang sa SIM, sana maglagay ng ilaw hindi torch sa may airport. Madilim na, nakakaubos pa ng hininga ang usok.

@Krasni baka ibig mong sabihin 2009 kasi walang SIM last 2010. November dapat yon pero na-postpone naging January, 2011.

i want to join 42k, however…
my concern here is for transpo? ^_^

sino organizer po nito? parang ang poster ay same ng Manila International Marathon na ilang ulit postponed?

eXtribe, Inc. po ang organizer nito. Overall race director din ng Pasig Run 2010 and 2011 (10.10.10 and 11.20.2011), Edsa Run, etc :)

Subic nalang para naman may change of venue, halos lahat ng race BGC nalang, nakakasawa na. Better yet, bring the whole family para after the race, family bonding time na sa beach.

parang late na ang gunstart 430am para sa 42K, aabutin tau ng tanghali nito kaya dapat sunblock..hehe

yup. sana gawing 4AM ung 42k. though as i know, shaded naman ung area pag-akyat sa bundok. ung last 5-6k tayo mangingitim =)

Dito na siguro ako kesa sa Timex. I like running with nature than anything else.

I like to run here, never pa ako naka takbo sa Subic.

surely a great experience to all runners & nature lovers,100% yan.running along sea sides & mountains… flat,uphill at down hill pa ang route kya sigurado mg eenjoy ka…dito na tyo.

@Burnz: Oo nga pala. Naalala ko na na 2009 nga pala original sked nun kaso na-move ng Jan9.

@argh_jp: Syempre may medal at singlet, kaso kung pihikan ka sa quality ng medal at singlet wag ka na mag-expect masyado. Kung maging ok sya kesa last time eh di mabuti. Importante, you’ll go there to run and have a great time.

@j baldomero and runnerio may byahe ang victory/saulog from cubao/pasay to olongapo then jeep to sbma gate. meron ding byahe ang victory from bustillos. u just have to verify ang trip skeds.

May medal kaya ang 21K?

Bad experience for me ang SIM 2011. Kulang sa marshals – para kang nakikipaglaro ng patintero sa mga sasakyan. At dahil nowhere in sight ang mga marshals, may ibang tumatakbo sa gitna ng kalsada (sa island!) at may iba namang nasa gilid. Sobrang weird, hindi ko na uulitin. :(

We will join in this race. I’ll run with my wife and sister. First ever fun run nila. First time namin lahat to run sa Subic.

For sure sasali ako dito since I’m from Olongapo and this would be my first official fun run there in Subic. Try ko pang i-convince ang friends ko na sumali rin dito.

Open na daw registration at least sa NB G4, dun kasi tinawagan ko. Wala daw singlet ang 5k na category kaya pala mura. Pwede na din kasi we will be joining this because of the run not the singlet.

3k and 5k:

No singlets
No timers so meaning no official results
Meron naman daw water stations hehehe.
I am not complaining, I am just relaying the information I got.

dun sa mga nag register na, 10k and up, yun bib number meron dalawang parang foam sa likod, strips siya. Sabi ng tiga NB eh timing device daw yun. First time ko nakakita ng timing device na foam lang hehehe.

my first entry on SIM. I usually watch the participants during SIM as a mere bystander but now I will be more than willing to join the run.Nice thing, kasi taga dito ako sa subic bay, bale registration fees lang yung cash out unlike when we participated sa Run United 2 & 3, Yamaha and Chevrolet, gasoline, toll fees and food stuff.

Fellow runners you will surely enjoy the Subic Bay, nice roads, fresh air and panoramic view of Subic Bay forest area

21km? or 42?

Reena – Tama ka pala, tinutok ko sa ilaw nakita ko yun sensors, bale naka patong palang ang “foam” kaya di kita ang sensors. First time ko kasi maka encounter ng timing device na di litaw yun actual sensors.

@Maldito21: eto nanaman. Ang first natin for the year. Pagisipan mo na 42k. Parang nung Jan2011 dito tayo nag-level up to 21k. This time dun na ako mag-stay overnight prior to the race. Last time kasi madaling madaling araw ako pumunta ng Subic tapos pagdating ilan minutes na lang for the gunstart, hehe

wala medal for 21k. dog tag lang. :-(

Wala po cut-off time. Road-closure will be lifted at 11AM. If you are still running around that time (which I believe you won’t), you may continue at your own risk.

As long as the route is safe and packed with hydration stations…then I will be a happy Subic runner :)They can keep the medal or dog tags for all I care. Nothing beats running inside Subic for the first time.

mga ka PF may cut off time kaya to? Finished my first full marathon at QCIM with the time of 6hrs & 8mins. Nakakahiya ma pahinto kasi :)

According sa leaflet na nasa race kit, no cutoff time however road closure will only be until 11AM. Runners may continue on the footpath at their risk.

10, 21 and 42K lang may singlet. Yung 3 and 5K wala kasi 50 petot lang yung reg fee. Last year nagbenta din sila ng shirts sa mismong event.

RAW will be fielding 5 participants @ 42 km run, 10 @ 21km, 5 @ 10km. The 3 of the 5 of RAW 42km are veterans of 42km and best amongst the PR is 3hours and 15 minutes. It will be the benchmark but it will be quite impossible to beat. In the last 32km RU3 I got 3hrs and 9mis. Brad, I will aim for a 4hrs to 430, time for 42km. Practice na ulit

To all SIM runner-participants

In case you need a place to stay for the SIM and you have a limited budget therefor, I suggest SBMA’s dorm at Cubi Area (P250.00/day). It is a Quonset type which was use by the US Marine and refurbished as a dorm type transient lodging. You may contact SBMA-Tourism @ 047-2524032/2524193. The place is nice and it is adjacent to Treetop Adventure. After the run you could check out the treetop adventure.

Safe naman mag byahe papunta ng subic/olongapo. Pwede ka mag Victory Liner , Genesis or Saulog bus. Yung Victory at Genesis may byahe via scitex na dumadaan sa loob mismo ng SBMA. Pwede ka ibaba infront ng remy field. 3-4 hours byahe from Manila depending on the traffic. Via scitex route will surely get you there in less time.
