Pasingit lang po, anybody here can help me how to prepare for a run? Im a newbee who loves to play basketball, 6’2 height and i want to find something new and im starting to find my interest in running….why? becuase i want to quit regain my endurance from smooking. anybody can assist me on these how to start? what and how long can do i have to train for a 10km run?

ladycroft, its very good that you have decided on doing a shorter run… i think that you would be better off giving yourself some time for training… a couple of training programs that help a lot in my fun runs are….. i do a combination of tempo runs, interval and speed training…if i have a long race 2 weeks before i would do a tempo run on tuesday, an interval on thurs, then do a tune up race na mga 10k, next week i would do a interval on tuesday, speed run on thursday… then on sunday i would do a 21 k run… hindi masyadong kumakain ng oras yung training ko.. .. maganda at di ka masyadong napapagod…. there are a lot of downloadable information that you can get … hope that this would help you with your training…

I mapped the route for this event and it, and the total distance showed 23.96km??? I used MAPMYRUN, if there’s anybody who could re-checked the distance, by all means please do so.
I already have my Finishers shirt and Emblem without having to run yet. All I need now is the Car! Hehehe.

Nov. 6 mag 25k tapos after a week un leg 3 32k. Hindi kaya mag recover ng legs in time for the 32k leg 3 event. Sana kung mga 3 weeks before ng leg 3 tamang tama sa sched ng training to pero dahil hindi sayang…
yan rin ang pinagiisipan ko…kaya ang plano ko ay 25k sa chevrolet on the 6th… one week na rest…. then 32k sa leg 3 ng unilab rununited… sana maka recover agad…

i am seeing comments here that they saw the finisher’s shirt. But it’s ironic that when I asked earlier today at TAF registration site, runrio staff advised that there will be no finisher’s shirt for 25K finishers. tsk-tsk-tsk …. so the registration fee will only go to the event’s shirt that you will wear for the run, medal and loot bag (which contents are still remain to be seen if it’s worth the reg. fee. budget for the car to be raffled will surely be coming from the high registration fees of the runners based. other runs na lang … but not this one.

registered thru on-line last september 1 for a 25k category – and fortunately received my kit, pero ilang beses na naglabas ng supposedly updated lists of store & on-line registered participants wala pa rin ang pangalan ko.

@Miguel – thanks for the advise, but i’ve e-mailed my complaint to them already – last september 26, october 28 & october 31, pero wala ring response galing sa kanila until now.

ah talaga, wow, no reply? That is unacceptable lalo na at di biro ang registration fee dito. Did you try calling them? I think Event King ang nag mamanage ng online registration.
nabasa ko sa website na sa race day na makukuha ang race kit ng credit card payments. double check mo sa new balance website.

the Chevrolet/NB has an attached B-TAG at the back of the bib number.
you can return that bib w/out timing chip sa reg site where u got it from.
