Ask ko lang po! Bakit For first 1,000 21K finishers lang ang mabibigyaan ng Finisher Shirt and medal?

May nakaka alam na ba if ilan flyover ang dadaanan ng 21K runners? Sa mapa kasi parang 3 flyovers overall at tunnel (going to katipunan from libis vice versa), tama ba ko? So X2 pa ito kasi pabalik pa. Parang hirap mag PR dito ng sub 2. Siguro run safe na lang at make sure na pasok sa cut off ng finishers medal at shirt. More horsepower na lang sa lahat!

rizal run= okey po na tumakbo o hindi ke rizal o kung mas pipiliin natin ang axn madami kasi reason para takbuhan ang axn dahil sa bago venue,first event nang axn for running,singlet design and nagkataon naman na hindi ganun ka ayus ang naging kaayus ang ke rizal nakakalungkot man na parang hindi talaga pinabonga may iba pa namang paraan para maisabuhay natin ang 150bday ni rizal kahit di takbuhan ang patakbo para sa kanya gaya nang pagiging responsable mamayan at runner at sa mga nakapagreg na sa rizal mabuhay kayong lahat! viva rizal

Sa map 3 flyovers nga dadaanan, dagdag pa yung paakyat sa julia vargas pagpabalik na. Hirap mga PR dito kaya tama enjoy na lang ang takbo.

Next year na ako sali dito. RUN RIZAL muna ako. MINSAN LANG ang Run Rizal. Unahin ko muna kapwa Pilipino.

due to the rolling hills, ingat lang dun sa mga nag-i-sprint pababa. that will hurt your knees in the long run. not unless you are keeping a forefoot strike. at para ma-enjoy naman natin ang sport/running for a long time

Thanks pala @barefootdaves for the advice on downhills. Dati during my 10k runs I use the advantage of momentum pag downhills.

And yeah, it seems to take its toll on the knees. Kaya I now take it easy on my half-mary’s..although tempting pa din gumamit ng momentum, hehe.

So, forefoot strike ang tama pag going downhills?

@RedCapGuy, i advocate midfoot/forefoot running on any terrain and elevation. runners dont take notice kse nga makapal ung heels ng mga sapatos but in return our knees absorb the shock altogether kapag heel strike. which is why importante na we use our arches and achilles as a spring to absorb the force every time our feet hit the road

in my case naman, i use the downhill as my recovery and dont necessarily use it to speed up since i maintain or pick up the pace kapag akyatin. the only time i break this rule is on 3km sprints but still running on bent knees and keep a midfoot stance :)

@barefootdaves – thanks and hopefully maka sub 2 muna ako sa RU2 before dito sa AXN! Same tayo pagdating sa midfoot/forefoot running kasi hate ko talaga ang heel striking. That’s why I love my bikila more than my regular running shoes!
@redcapguy – congrats and kita kits sa raceday! Tapik-tapik na lang sa likod kapag mag overtake ka sa amin ni suplado.

Ask ko lang. Sa sept. 17- 18 ang ateneo college entrance exam. Expect heavy traffic along katipunan. Pano nila manage yung traffic for the 21k runners.

Tama si RedCapGuy! Isa ako sa mag susuot ng PF tech shirt during the race. Madali ako makilala kasi naka blue arm sleeves ako parati sa race day. Tapikin nyo na lang ako sa likod and willing ako to pace with you. At ka pace ko pa pala si RedCapGuy at si Suplado_ako sa event na ito. 21K PF mamaws daw kami! BTW male po si YINGSKI hehehe. for some reasons, i want to run 21K here. as a training run for octoberun. is it safe to run 21K here considering i will run 16K for FS a week before?

Yup, pissedoff here. Nope, i don’t have any plans to make my 16K a competitive run. balak namin ni @runiacs, i-LSD lang ung 16K sa FS.
naisip ko kasi, kelangan ko na rin maexperience ung 21K before the Octoberun. Nakakahiya sa mga team mates ko if ever. :p
At 3:30 naman ung cut off sa AXN. Okay kung maka 2:30 ako, pero kahit 2:45-3:00 okay nko. Matapos ko lang ung 21K hopefully injury-free. :)

tis a good thing i was able to conquer the Ortigas route (except the flyover) c/o a recent fun run by Pocari. have fun to all our PF friends running this event.

Sana ma-extend kahit ilang days yung registration.. Magkaroon sana ng consideration kasi sunod sunod ang magagandang running events this september..

took my chances today to register for 5k….looking at the poster, sabi last day today….but when i inquired sabi ang registry today is “pahabol type” na lang…parang risk application…which is same as johnny’s post, they will get your application and text na lang daw if you’re in or out..parang reality show hehehehe :) ayaw naman daw nila magpromise tapos mamaya wala pala in the end…safe move :) at the same time iniingatan din daw nila na magkaubusan ng singlets….so i filled out the application and took my chances…at habang anjan na… sinukat ko ang singlet wow i loved the stretch feel, the smooth and semi-shiny texture of the axn singlet….haaay….will be on the prey this week for that Magic Text :)

magreregister sana kami sa Glorietta kanina kaso sabi nila wala ng singlet size. we were told to register on the 15th sa boni high. sure bang magkakasize sa rox sa 15th? :)

Yup, same here. I just registered for AXN, but claiming of race kits will be on September 15 daw. If ever, AXN will be my 1st ‘0unofficial’ 21K race. This will be my training run if ever for next month’s Octoberun. ;)

Nag register kami sa glorieta kahapon kinuha lang yung form hindi naman kinuha yung bayad sabi sa september 15 na lang daw mag bayad pagkuha ng kit. sigurado po ba yun na may reservation na kami?

@joyce yeah, just stay safe ;) consider this your “testing the waters” phase in half marathons para you can make necessary adjustments on your trainings until octoberun :)
and if im not mistaken, teammates tayo sa octoberun kaya bawal mainjured ha?

I hope Mr Vince gets to text all those under reserved Registrants whom I believe registered on the last day as soon as possible. And also to give out our race kits before Sept 15 as mentioned by one of your Reg staff. Also, not to mention finishers medals given on the day itself. This last day reserve registration is quite a hassle.

wow, umuulan ng Race events…cant decide saan ako run… ok din kasi ang Rizal run , they have a point, minsan lang yun..

dito ok naman ang singlet…pero wag naman ilipat ng sept 25 ang axn,

naka reg na ako ng MIM… kung nilipat din sana ang MIM edi ok na tayo sa Camsur….

umuulan talaga ng Events…sana tatagal pa ito ng 10 years….

With bib no. 1-1000 lang ang may finisher’s shirt? Paano kung di makatakbo or mak-finish lahat ng 1-1000 runners? Kung 1000 shirts lang ang available, di ba dapat mas fare na first 1000 finishers ang magkakaroon?

interesting point you have there. would have been nice if the shirt was limited to the 1st 1000 finishers as an added incentive. it would turn out that the finisher shirt becomes part of the race kit

another point to raise is that, what happens now to those runners who will be swept along the route for not being able to finish it within the cutoff time? will they still get the jockey shirt? that would be a sight to see

if my memory serves me right, the FIRST 1000 finishers will get the jockey shirt and NOT with their bib numbers. im beginning to doubt AXN and Finishline on their integrity. better get things straight

I hope that it’s just a typo error. But the update above states:

“[Update!] All 21K Participants with race numbers 0001-1000 will receive a Jockey Technical Finisher Tee, upon their finish”.

Regarding jockey: daig ng maagap magrehistro ang mabilis tumakbo…wag kayong babagal bagal:-)
