Yamaha Run 2011 – Race Results Discussions

i was #5 in 5k male category for ages 20-29!! yay!! i’m off to running my first 10k in the Rexona run!

Thanks for the photos guys! It was a great run. My PR improved by 5 minutes! :)

//on a personal perspective, the race was great..
*gunstart was on time
*the route was a little different from the previous runrios
*most importantly, water/energy drink stations were strategically placed, especially for the 21k route
*there was a banana station
*marshals were well placed, and are courteous…some went an extra mile by greeting the runners, and wishing them goodluck…
*lootbags were always a welcome treat to the runners

//on the flipside, there were a few things that i could point out:
*no more water/energy drink stations in the activity area
*no photobooth [this is no big deal..Yamaha donated 1M to the foundation, perhaps the organizer did not include this to cut on the expenses..anyways, there were a lot of photographers along the routes..just tag yourselves :)]

//i give runrio a score of 8 for a well organized event; 1 point for the opportunity to meet and bond with PF citizens; and 0.5 for the photo ops with coach rio himself..ahahah.!

//this run gave me the opportunity to meet @ta1.martian at the starting line, pace run with @yogurt, and also @mon (whom i paced run with during the mizuno event), photo ops and more photo ops with PF citizens after the race, the usual brunch at market market — this time with @ms_mars and @c21…and yeah, @bingski and @yinski: we missed yer both…

//two thumbs up to runrio..! can’t wait for the Rexona Men Adventure.. in the meantime, let’s get going..train harder..aja!

@Suplado_ako – Congrats sa new PR at sa new profile pic!!! Mas okey sana if meron agad 21K medal after crossing the finish line. Next time na lang ulit ako makaka run with you. Take it easy lang pala sa pag run cause I heard na fully booked ka na daw this month! Run safe lang lagi!

wat? wla pa pla yun medal nyo…waste of time yan…they have a lot of days b4 the event tapos wlang medal…natrapik ba? hahaha…may neglect na nangyari…wat happen YAMAHA? dami pa nmn pumupuri sa inyo…

chillax my good friend, chill…based from what i read from RunRio’s FB site, the 21K medals only got go signal from Phil customs only yday. and they are sending it to the address indicated by the runners during the reg. there will also be an option for some to pick up the medals and there is a diff process for that as well.

so to all 21K finishers, dont worry, the medals have been released from Customs already and hopefully be sent to your respectful abodes. congrats again!

hi there po! ay naku, i beg to disagree in that part, yingks. @Suplado’s run sched this July isn’t that fully-booked as far as i know, hehe! he only has 3 races as opposed to my 4 run events. we share same races with Yamaha, Rexona and MILO. its a plus one for me c/o Pocari Sweat Run on July 17.

@Leo it is okay to join the Rexona Run this July for the 10K race as long you don’t have any injury right now. Continue your training and justt take things slowly as you gain endurance and mileage.

You’ll be amazed with Jaime Zobel de Ayala at his age he was able to finish at 1:55 for his 21K last Condura.

@Ms_Mars – Ikaw na mam!!!! Malay natin humabol si suplado_ako sa inyo. hehehehe… pati sa registration nag hahabolan.

ok, what’s up with the photo’s? have to friend to see?…..and have facebook? not cool, are there any other po that have photo’s without this stuff…come on….

what kind of photo is that? only few and 21k only. I notice alot of camera taking shots, is that only for show off?

//@badboy: those photographers weren’t deputized by the event organizer or by yamaha…so it’s their prerogative if they will post the photos online or not…hope this one helps..

//@yingski: got three runs this month — yamaha, rexona and milo…i’m considering a 21k run for milo..but something’s pushing me to take on the 42k route…i’ll see…i have until next week to decide..

//getting a medal upon crossing the finish line would’ve been fantastic..but nonetheless, i received an SMS from runrio to update them with my details..the medals are going to be delivered to the runners…at the very least, runrio is doing it’s best to fulfill its commitment to the runners…

this was my first 21km at 2:23:32 with a twisted left foot and mild crap on upper right leg. hope to improve the record during the rexona run.

the banana was good! it was sweet and energizing! LOL!!!

3:12:52 for 21K first timer, i think not bad :). I just want to congratulate myself in finishing the run without any injury except for the pains…pero bawing-bawi sa water at sa powerade pa lang…dagdagan pa ng magandang finishers shift, cap at very useful na loof bag, my pahabol pa na medal… then my kitkat pa sa finish line…hehe…thank you so much…see yah again for the rexona 21K run :D

Thanks God. At 46 years old, I was able to finish my first 21K run at 2:27:48. Thanks to an early diagnosis of hypertension 2 years ago, I started running in our neighborhood as advised by the doctor,then joined 3k last year. My wife and 2 sons join me in fun runs. Now, instead of spending on buckets every Friday, I spend on singlets:-).
I’m honored to be with you guys. Running with you gives me a lot of inspiration. May God bless you with good health, better PR and longer distance conquered.

Where can we claim the medal? Nobody is answering when I called the phone number that given at finish line with chocolate – 6226691.

Congrats for that accomplishment!Sub90 for 10k or 21k?Anyway,I hope you will always beat your PR every time you join the run. That’s one of the greatest accomplishments a dedicated runner could get.

bat puti lang kulay ng 21k finisher medal ko? diba dapat kasing colorful ng naka display dito sa website dati???!!! yun may black, yellow etc. Run rio, What a rip off!!!

same situation here about the pics, they got the wrong guy ha ha ha …. anyway,I understand that the technical people are still manually tagging the pics, names and numbers….the process still ongoing..

Nice Fun Run. As of this time, Yamaha Run has the best giveaways on all the fun runs we joined.. hindi naman sa pinapahalagahan lang yung frees… Yamaha Run has Nice cap, bag, finisher’s shirt, medal (kahit na-delay, ok lang)… sa totoo lang

Me too RunRio Organizers, my bib# is 0775… Walang result from BazuSports. Kaya siguro wala rin akong info sa database nyo kaya walang darating na medal sakin. Hope you can work on this. ThankYou

I share the sentiments of some fellow runners sa finishers medal, hopefully this would be a learning experience….

Problem kasi, you cant tell if the distribution is by location or alphabetical or by ranking… anyway, I received a PM sa FB that my medal would be delivered middle of next week….keeping my fingers crossed…

meanwhile I would just prep myself for Rexona and the “Main Event”: MILO…. just keep running and dont let this incident dampen your spirit and diminish your passion for the sport…

there are more races ahead…more challenges to hurdle…sabi nga ni Ms. Mars…MORE horsepower…ganun na lang :)

sana sa mga nagbi2gay ng finesher”s kit be sure na meron bid number ang mga kumukuha syang kc ung iba d naman ng entry pero nakakakuha cla kapal talaga….

ska bkt d parehas ung mga frend ko meron mga energy drink na kasama ung mga late na ala n dpat patas lang d pare pareho laman ng bag……

it’s been months now and still no 21k finisher’s medal for me and my husband…didn’t they say they’ll send it through mail? where the hell is it? been trying to call their hotline number and it’s a not permitted call.
does anybody know how to contact runrio?
we did nba fit run… interchanged naman results?
we did another runrio run and still no yamaha medal…wondering if runrio should still be supported :( hmph

barefootdave- did that but no reply and no action…our other teammates have gotten theirs…apparently only 2 of us haven’t received ours :(

@carrots got mine 2 weeks after the event with no problem, there might be a problem with your address, try sending them an email, they are slow to reply but in my experience they actually do read and act on complaints.

my husband have not received his medal for 21K until now. We were advised that this will be delivered. No word had been heard either from the Runrio or Yamaha. Sayang… this is so far pa naman sana the best run if not for the medals na mukhang hindi umabot during the event itself. Mas hamak tuloy na mas maganda ang AXN run.

Wala bang Yamaha Run 2012. Sana nandun uli yung mga promo models nila lalo na yung matangkad, 5’10” din yata height nun dahil magkasinglaki lang kami sa picture.
