  1. one more thing: may i suggest to the organizers to move this event to another date bacause im pretty sure marami tatakbo dito kaso nga lang tatakbo sila sa goldilocks fun run so marami ang di makasali dito.

  2. @Yror Retes: I second the motion! I want to join this event (new route to experience and for a cause ito) but nakareg na ako sa Run 4 Life. =(

  3. I think that’s the beauty of it having on the same date with Goldilocks. We’ll run inside the historic site and you’ll run in the still developing symbol of commerce and industry. You can only choose one. But because, I already ran countless times in the BGC, it’s my personal choice to run inside the walled city. Never been to this place yet, even though I reside in Manila.

  4. I’ll join this run. Change of strategy for me this year. I’ll prioritize runs with routes I haven’t tried before =)Plus this is cheaper but of course not as grand as Runrio events. I’m glad there are smaller runs happening and I’m beginning to enjoy them.

  5. Hay… I already registered for the Goldilock’s run. Sayang, had they announced earlier, dito sana ako mag join. I hope they’ll reconsider moving the date. Sayang talaga :(

  6. @pinoy fitness: maybe you can create a survey from us, runners- to rank what we are considering before joining a running event…like,
    >Reasonable Reg. Fee
    >Is it for a cause/ Percentage of reg. fee that will be given to a beneficiary
    >Is there a timing chip/d-tag (published in a web)
    >Race Route
    >Free photos
    >Race Analysis
    >Finisher’s Kit
    >Post-event Kit
    >Singlet
    >Prize
    >Medal/ Trophies
    >Organizer
    >water stations

    Thank you!

  7. Ayos ito!!! Parang back to my college days!!!

  8. Intramuros Run? why only now? magandang last minute run ito! bigla na lng kc sumulpot eh! hehe…
was planning to register for Goldilocks tomorrow but saw this ad today, hmmmm, gud thing i dont have a run yet for May 15th.
dpat nga Lucban Run yan eh coz thats also the Pahiyas Fiesta celebration in Lucban, Quezon!

  9. i have just emailed http://www.kaisa.org.ph, requesting for a rescheduling of this great event to a later date this May.

guys, i hope we can help make them change their minds to resched. kasi ang dami na sa inyo either sa Run for Life or more so,
    Goldilocks Anniversary Run.

it wud be a waste if there will only be very few runners to conquer Intramuros.

This run can also be moved to
May 21 / May 28 or May 29 di ba?

  10. @Ms_Mars – I’ll also send them an email. May 21 or 28 sana coz May 22 is Greentennial Half Marathon and then sa 29 IRunForIntegrity. I would really want to run in the Walled City. Brings back college memories in Mapua ;)

  12. //@Ms_Mars: good initiative..i won’t miss the goldilocks fun run..and i don’t think i can afford this one either…since all sundays of May already have scheduled fun runs, why not make it a saturday..? am certain many runners will participate in this event.

  13. //@Ms_Mars: good initiative..i won’t miss the goldilocks fun run..and i don’t think i can afford to miss this one either…since all sundays of May already have scheduled fun runs, why not make it a saturday..? am certain many runners will participate in this event.

  14. I go for not changing the date.

  15. @Dave, hindi naman sa nagiging gahaman yung mga nagrerequest na kung pwede ‘to i-move for other time…We just want to join this kind of event…(being able to enjoy and at the same time help). It’s for the benefit din naman po ng mga beneficiaries, but if the May 15 date is significant for the organizer then IMO, most of the runners will understand it.

  16. if there’s something wrong with wanting to run a lot of races & contributing a dime of my money for a good cause, oo na sige na gahaman na kung gahaman, amen ;)

  17. //@Dave: according to http://www.bansa.org, gahaman means: maramot, makasarili, mapagmalaki, sakim, gahaman, kadamutan: selfish, greedy, stingy

//wanting to run in so many racing events as deemed significant for some individuals doesn’t mean you are being ‘gahaman’. i think you should think a 7 thousand times before you say things because you don’t have the liberty to criticize opinions of other people. learn to respect the opinions of other people, as you would want to be respected. it was a suggestion to possibly move the event to another date. and where does ‘gahaman’ enter the picture? it’s your perception that makes that suggestion ‘gahaman’. why? does it hurt to propose a suggestion?

//i understand that organizers have very good reasons for choosing that date. how do these racing events collect revenues? from sponsors. from runners. and in my opinion, the runners also have the freedom to air their ideas in reference to such races.

//LET’S RESPECT OTHER PEOPLE’S IDEAS AND OPINIONS. AS WE WANT THEM TO RESPECT OURS.

  18. Thanks, everyone for your comments.

We are glad to announce that Fort Santiago and Casa Manila Museum shall give free entrance on May15 to racebib holders, aside from Bahay Tsinoy Museum.

We received a couple letters requesting the event be moved, as well as been considering everyone’s comments. The planning committee so far, has decided to push through with the current schedule, since any change will have to go through a lot of coordination with Manila City Hall, Manila Traffic Bureau, and Intramuros Administration, and race organizer Adrenaline Multisport. Also, the popularity of May events might be because of the low risk of heavy rains.

We shall be supporting another running event by the National Historic Commission for History Week in September, but the planning details will all come from them. Meanwhile, we hope this event helps jumpstart more popular events around the Walled City and encourage other fundraising events for PGH Social Services. If they accredit your org, you can personally deliver medicine donations and make sure they go to the actual person in need in the wards.

  19. Seems to be an intreresting race. I can not recall if there was any race in the past within the Intramuros, though one should not expect to aim for good or fast running time considering the narrow streets and plenty of turns along the course. But never the less, let’s join this for a good cause anyway.

Count me in, I’ll also convince my friends to join.

  21. @c21
thanks for the feedback! appreciate it.
well the organizers have decided to push thru with the event on May 15th, alongside with the 3-4 others on same day.

at least we made the effort to be heard so that at least all events will have equal share of the funds raised and more runner participants to show their support and concern too of the good cause.

  22. @Bingski

thanks for your comments and support to this event. but the Kaisa has already decided. its Ok i understand. may all of us have a good run on May 15th!

    which run are u joining?

  23. @Suplado Ako

hey! always great to hear from you and your personal feedbacks! thanks much…

lets all have a good run on May 15th and thereafter, hehe!

  24. this will be an interesting venue to run, not to mention the low reg fee plus free entrance to Fort Santiago and Casa Manila Museum pa. i’l surely join this event.
    so excited na.

  25. @Ms_Mars – I already registered for the Goldilocks run two weeks ago.

  26. //@Ms_Mars: it’s always a pleasure…and glad to hear from you too…i haven’t registered for Goldilocks yet..although, there’s a big chance that i will – if ever, it’s going to be my first 21k run..

//although running within the Walled City, which i think is the first one to take place [correct me if i’m wrong], is i would say, a milestone in my new lifestyle – running. and the one of the beneficiaries is CCFCFPAI fire station rehabilitation. this somehow has bearing because i have always wanted to be a firefighter..

    //anyways, i still have 2 weeks to think about…

  27. kainis matagal ko pnamang inintay to naku nakaregister na kami sa highland tagaytay tpos ung iba sa goldilocks hay paki move naman to plsss grabe ang sarap panamang tumakbo sa intramuros

Nagresearch ka pa ng meaning ng salitang “gahaman”, at proud naman ako kasi at least you gave your effort to know its other translation in Filipino.

At any rate, it’s fine to say, “Sayang, di ako makakasali kasi katapat ng Goldilocks”. But it’s significantly different when you say, “I have emailed the organizers…Sana Saturday na lang…Sana ma-move ang event na ‘to”. Don’t you guys think a bit of the organizers’ preparations for this event. Nag-effort yung mga organizers para sa mayor’s permit, staffing, advertisement, request for PNP personnel, etc., then kayo naisip niyo lang hindi kayo makakasali kaya i-move ang event. Hindi niyo naisip ano? Kasi may halong “pagkagahaman” at the back of your minds, di lang niyo maamin sa sarili niyo.

  30. @ Bingski

hehe, pwede rin un…charge to experience your Goldilocks reg and then appear here at Intramuros o db?

was abt to reg for Goldi kc im a fan of their cakes but wen the Intramuros invite came, hmmm i think im gonna head that route…

  31. @ Suplado Ako:

    wow firefighter dream! nice…why not?
yes you still have time to try the Intramuros run however up to 10K lng cla..and youre training for 21K…tsk tsk sayang!

and yet, u still have time to reconsider your options. *wink

  32. I like the opinions thrown out by you guys. Mr. Suplado may have his point of the matter and so as Dave. But I’ll give Dave my nod. If you already have in your hands the ticket for the Goldilocks Run, “Do not (try) to covet thy neighbor’s running event”, be contented of what you have. “You cannot serve two masters at a time, it is either you despise the other or love the other.”. Holy Week is near so, try to reflect a bit more. Am I becoming obsessed or perhaps greedy or perhaps discontented even though I have in my hands the Goldilocks Run that should satisfy me, but still crave for the Intramuros Run even to the detriment of its organizers.
@Suplado, do not ask for Dave to think 7,000 times because of his opinion. The person is just opinionated. Do not impose anything on him because of his opinion, but you can oppose for you to be heard also.

  33. Good for all of us runners because there are so many choices now. But yup, we have to choose only one. The only reason why I haven’t registered yet in Goldi is because I was more keen on joining the Mizuno run instead in Tagaytay. Iniisip ko kasi there will always be the next Runrio event. But then this run came along and me being a Manila resident would like to see Manila being a top running destination as well. If I’m not mistaken, there will be asphalt, concrete then that short cobblestone portion beside San Agustin Church (tama ba ang route na alam ko?) for this run. Interesting di ba? plus for a cause pa. Join na! =)

Teka time to sleep, may Run for Japan pa pala =P

  34. maganda ito pati singlet pero sana wag isabay sa goldilocks run… sayang gusto ko pa naman ang singlet nito at ung purpose niya na run for a cause.. please to the organizer of this event kindly find time to re-sched this event so that I can participate..please please

  35. //@Rotech: that was a very good piece…the point am driving at is, it’s too strong a word to tag people the word ‘gahaman’..i understand that it’s an opinion and everyone has the right to say what he wants, but in light of this issue, why can’t some people leave others instead of calling them names?

  36. bigger chances that ill sign up for this cause. had to give up a trip to Lucban, Quezon for the Pahiyas Fest. same date kc cla.

  40. @Suplado. Nice to know your thoughts. But I think nothing’s wrong with naming name/s in this forum, especially to stress that the opinion came from you. ‘Wag kang matakot na mapangalan, it is just like we are in a conversation. You address the people you talk to on their names. But it’s fine with me, I am not on the losing end. But too good for you, you replied with caution and prudence. On the other hand, the word “gahaman” as used by Dave in post no. 24 is addressed to all as an advice, that includes himself. I think, it’s not that harsh. To borrow his word, “xxx wag tayong magahaman sa racing events.Marami pang events na susunod.”. I don’t know brod how you and other people interpreted it, but the use of “gahaman” is even sort of appropriately if not politely used. Of course, you have differing opinion than mine. Thanks, Mr. Suplado, hat’s off to you.

  41. @ yogurt

your family’s joining this run also?
if so, GREAT! kita kits! i hope mahatak ko also my sister into this one.

yday nga after the run, i walked from Grandstand all the way to Manila Cathedral via Bonifacio Drive to attend Palm Sunday Mass. hanep!

  42. //@Rotech: there are exchanges of ideas and our individual opinions. at the end of the day, we all share the passion — running. and that is running for a cause.

//let’s run for a healthy living and healthy relations with anyone and everyone, here on the net or on racetracks…

  43. @Ms_Mars: still coughing…=) but I’m fine now…Last week, was the only week this year that I haven’t been able to run…=(. I am hoping to run all weekends of May.

  44. @Suplado

youre right again! kudos to @Pinoyfitness for this site indeed.

always lookin forward to sharings, comments, feedbacks from you and everyone in every event that theyve attend or will be attending…woohooo!

  45. For the info of everyone, wala pang bib at singlet sa registration sites. According to the staff assigned at Toby’s Trinoma, it would be better for us to go back after the holy week. Just text him should we want updates about the availability of race packets. Without his permission ipost ko cell no. niya, Monching 09278083017, or call Toby’s Trinoma at 9013688.

  46. hello ms mars: i’ve been wanting to join your conversation with c21 & suplado_ako, kaya lang i was waiting for the right time to join in. I feel like joining, bec. of the cause and for a change and the reg. fee is cheap. Kaya lang its gonna be successive runs for me, this one, brooks & run for integrity.

  47. thanks @Rotech for that update.

i was at Trinoma last week and saw the Intramuros tarp invite at Toby’s and i thot the singlets were avail na.

was looking for a black belted hydration pack. Planet Sports is out of stock, ung sa Toby’s ang laki nman…

where else can i find this item? help!

  48. @Suplado

are u familiar with a black belt hydration pack? where else can i try finding one?

hwag sa ROX ah, malayo me dun, hehe.

  49. @Ms. Mars, If I may give you an advice in buying hydration belt. As tested by yours truly, It would be better to choose the one with only two packets at the back than the four-packet belts. Kasi yung 4 packets, tatamaan yung braso mo kapag swing mo ng arms mo, inconvenient yun, although ang advantage parang balanse. But just the same, I do not use my hydration belts already but instead hold in my hands a small sized Pocari Sweat or plastic-bottled Powerade, or Gatorade in training for short runs like 5Ks to 10Ks. Mas importante para sa akin ang sunblock at runnng shades (preferably Sprinto or Spyder, good brands of good quality but cheaper price) dahil sa init ng araw.

  50. @cecille

hey youre welcome to join in anytime! its like chat site na rin itong Pinoyfitness, haha! but im enjoying reading responses from peeps like you whom i havent personally met yet but i feel excited in meeting in the upcoming runs for causes.

indeed hinay2x lng with the runs. ako nga, may prob is ankle fatigue thats why i bought 2 consecutive ankle supports which have been great help for the past 2 runs now (NatGeo and Run with the Masters).

my sister had her 1st official run last Feb during the Run United, instead of doing 5K which was already closed, she took 10K and poor sis almost crawled onto the finish line coz her legs ached so much! but she did cross finish and immediately got an ice pack thru one of the ambulances stationed nearby. in fairness her PR was 1:35mins! and not too bad for a 1st timer with an ice pack to cap the race day!
until now we are laughing abt it.

and we almost have the same Races. May 15th – Intramuros/ May 22 – Greentenial and May 29 – Run for Integrity. hope to kita kits with you, Suplado, C21, and Bingski, including Yogurt and his family!

  51. @Rotech

wow thanks for that recommendation! actually its my sister who’s so atat in locating that belt.kc nga her 2 other running buddies have it too, and it does look cool db and your right, dagdag japorms too! hehe.

but for me, im satisfied with holding a regular bottled water in my left hand and a digicam on my right to capture fun and candid moments! would you believe, nka 2 race thereafter na ung HYUNDAI bottled container ko?

you’re also right, very impt items are shades and sunblock! ayy nku the latter i forgot to bring yday @Masters that’s why, medyo sunkissed again me. but on the way home, ive got me handy dandy umbrella!

  52. @Rotech: me too, I haven’t used hydration belt…hawak ko lang isang bottled water for 15k, but I’m planning to buy a hydration pack na backpack style for longer distance running…and magagamit ko din sya pag may climb. =)

  53. @cecille: take extra care and listen to your leg…mas ok na to be able to join at least two running events/month instead of forcing it and by next month you couldn’t join any because of injuries…=)

  54. I’m bringing my daughter to this run, at least I can share my knowledge to her of Intramuros while running, see ya guys on the road!

  55. @C21> Mas maganda yung backpack-type for long runs talaga. Pwede mong lagyan ng pagkain like nilagang kamote, gabi, mais o suman, petroleum jelly, pocket money, IDs and many more pag long runs na ang usapan.

  56. @Ed Runner

great idea! your daughter will be learning and running for both health and wealth of knowledge.

hopefully the other running dad’s will also bring along their kids!

  57. @Ed Runner: wow! that’ll be a good experience for her! I hope she’ll remember that until she gets old…Enjoy and good luck sainyo! =)

@Ms_Mars: yes…last year that was my priority but not this year, running took over. =)

  58. its up to you guys, its always a choice.. kung gusto nio rin tumakbo dito then quit the goldilocks..
gnun lang yun… money or the experience..peace guys… but for me dito ako tatakbo… its my choice, period..=)

  59. i will run for 10K for this if i can reg..this would be my first 10K since my first run on rexona 2010. @reydor see you again bro..

  60. //@Cecille: you can join in anytime in any of our conversation…btw, i sent an email to @Bingski with my phone number…

//i hope to see you in any of our scheduled runs… :)

  61. @Suplado
thanks for lookin into my “wanted item” at Megamall and Galle. appreciate it!

sureness! excited to see you guys in our future runs indeed, along with Bingski, Cecille, C21 and the others!

uhm, does that mean you’re joining us for the Intramuros Run??? woohoo!

  62. * Goldilocks 45th Anniversary Fun Run
    * Intramuros Heritage Run
    * Run 4 Life

Darn!!! Bakit nagsabay-sabay? I can’t decide kung alin ang tatakbuhan ko…

  63. @Marcus. If you already experienced a Runrio event or been to BGC before, you may consider other running venue. You might think also that cheaper fees would translate to a mediocre event, for me it doesn’t follow. May mga murang races na maganda ang totality, even better than the high priced, high profile races to some extent. And equally important, the advocacy or cause of the race. I chose this Heritage Run, because Intramuros is totally a new venue for me than BGC which is already monotonous, it’s reasonably priced, it is organized for a cause, and I’ve never been to such place before. You choose the race, follow your heart and where your budget will lead to.
